Carol Diaz31 said:What’s the point of even using anesthesia if it only numbs the surface? It’s like, sure, you lose sensation in one spot, but when they start hammering away at your bones, you still feel every single bit of it. They have anesthesiologists on staff for other surgeries, but for this specific procedure, they’re just doing it under local... I honestly don't get why. 🤷
My nose is finally starting to behave, though I’ve still got this nagging headache drifting around and my eyes feel a bit heavy. Honestly, I’ve just been lying here with cold compresses on all day, so it's manageable. The first day is always the absolute worst.

It'll all pass eventually. Just hang in there. 🙂As far as I recall, an anesthesiologist actually has to be on hand even during procedures involving local anesthesia with sedation...
By the way... why on earth are they still swinging hammers at that? Isn't it a complete demolition job now anyway?
Carol Diaz31 said:Over at Tončić's

Hey there! Ugh, I feel so bad for you. 😢 Did it actually hurt during the surgery? I mean, I know you felt *something*, but was it sharp pain or more just a general sense of discomfort?
I heard some rumors that Tončić isn't exactly top-tier when it comes to anesthesia—apparently because they're being cheap with the anesthesiologists... honestly, who knows...
Is your nose hurting at all?
Honestly, it would be best if Glušac, Zambelli, and Bastaić just teamed up and manufactured my nose for me instead. xd
wearyotter112 said:I'm honestly stuck on this one. I reached out to both Žgaljardić and Ostojić, and they both gave me the same line: you really need to wait at least six months, though a full year is probably better... so, yeah, looks like I'll be playing the waiting game. If anyone else has dealt with something similar, let me know...

Well, just wait then. 🙂
wearyotter112 said:Well, look at that... he’s just too much... 🙂 As for me, I’d honestly jump under the knife right now just to be done with this whole mess, but I think I’ll end up choosing to wait. It feels like the more logical move, so whatever happens, happens... I’ll just sit tight and see what everyone else has to say; I'm genuinely curious to compare notes...

From what I’ve heard, you can go in for surgery after just a few months—it doesn't really matter... since everything is going to have to heal all over again regardless!
rustygardener172 said:You’ve been dropping questions about Zambellia for days now and nobody is biting—not because people are ignoring you, but likely because they just don't have a clue. It’s pretty obvious that none of the folks active on this forum right now have actually been to see him. Have you even gone through his entire website yet? I bet there are plenty of answers to your questions buried in there somewhere.
Honestly, your best bet would be to just give him a call and schedule a consultation. That way, you can get actual answers to everything you're wondering about.

I mean, I know... but I just figured someone here might actually know how his process works.. :P
And there’s one more thing I’m curious about (am I being too much? probably -.-)... has anyone here actually gone through with surgery while dealing with chronic sinus issues?
Does anyone know if Zambelli performs closed techniques too, or does he strictly stick to open procedures like he did back at the clinic?
Anyway, now I'm spiraling a bit over anesthesia... honestly, I nearly lost it reading horror stories about what happened to some people. They were given general anesthesia, but it didn't take properly, so they felt everything—yet they couldn't do a damn thing because they were still technically unconscious. :O My God, just imagine if that happened to you. And of course, being the neurotic mess I am, I'm the one freaking out about it. It's always my bad luck.

The user miumiu actually had her surgery done by him, so you might want to just shoot him a DM.

thanks 🙂
Sophia Hill22 said:Bastaić is from Otorina and the primary physician is 👍

Why didn't you send me your photos?

By the way—I actually asked Bastaić about using cold compresses, and he told me not to bother. My sister’s boyfriend, who’s an internist, said the exact same thing—at least for a little while after surgery—because you need that circulation to help everything heal properly. So yeah, definitely check with your own doctor on what to do, how to do it, and why.

Oops...🙂 oh, right, sorry... my brain just stalled there... I honestly wish I could see a few more nose shots to help me make up my mind... overall, Glusac is a bit of a trek for me... but if Bastaić is the ENT, then 👍
did he perform your surgery using the closed method?
Laura Castillo7 said:This is genuinely horrifying. That doctor was completely unprofessional—honestly, it felt more like visiting a local butcher shop than a prestigious hospital. And please, just look at the photo of the anesthesia application on her hand; even an elementary school kid could have done a cleaner, tidier job. Don't even get me started on those nose bandages; I have no idea why they felt the need to plaster her entire face. When I had my procedure, I just had the nasal mold and some hardened residue under the bandage, almost like plaster, but nothing all over my face. It’s awful. They really ought to be held accountable.

Exactly. Tončić is crossed off my list.
rustygardener172 said:It’s been a long time... honestly, it was pretty ugly, but those are rare outliers. I guess all you can do is cross your fingers and hope you don't end up in that situation. 😁

Ugh... I'm really not sure right now... Tončić feels like he's out of the running for me. I'd much rather go to Glusac, but good grief, his reputation is practically non-existent at this point. 🤷
And I haven't even looked into Bastaić yet... is he actually an ENT, or just some aesthetic surgeon?
I haven't seen any reviews of his work on nose jobs, so... 🤷
Zambelli is quite literally butchering those women... everything is done using open techniques, which honestly gives me the creeps.
You really need to take a look at what Suzuki posted. 😲😲😲
Laura Wright2 said:Hey there... I have surgery coming up in three weeks, and honestly, reading through this forum has been eye-opening—I've learned so much I had no clue about before.😲
I just wanted to ask about those compresses you all mention that you can pick up at CVS. Are you supposed to apply them immediately after the procedure, or do you wait until the mold is removed? And how long are you actually supposed to leave them on your face... did they really help you guys much??
And sorry in advance if I seem like a total newbie here; I haven't exactly been scrolling through every single post since the beginning of time. 🤷

Why aren't you just asking your doctor? They’re your most reliable source of truth. 🙂
Mind if I ask which surgeon you finally decided on?

Carol Diaz31 said:Honestly, that whole cliché about "losing your identity" feels way too dramatic for me, too. 🙄

If my "identity" is defined by having a massive nose, then honestly? I'm more than happy to lose it. 😂

hahahahahhaha, I'm right there with you. 😂
Carol Diaz31 said:I agree—that whole cliché about "losing your identity" feels incredibly heavy-handed to me too.🙄

Look, if my "identity" is defined by having a massive nose, then honestly? I’m more than happy to lose it.😂

People who don't deal with this specific "issue" just don't get it... though, of course, they'll have plenty of opinions regardless. It's fine. I'm not even bothered.
jadedriver0 said:It’s not even about the price tag. It’s those monsters parading around like they actually accomplished something—what's the point when everyone knows it's all artificial? It was especially stupid in my wife's case; she went through with it right before giving birth, and now her skin is stretched and sagging everywhere.🤮 Just pathetic, really.😢 And she didn't even breastfeed, so what would have happened if she did? Not to mention how her husband, her mother-in-law, and all our friends looked at her with such judgment because of it.

I've been scrolling through some of your posts... and I have to wonder; seriously, did every single one of your friends get surgery or something? 😂
One gets a facelift, another goes for a breast augmentation, a third decides on a nose job...
Has anyone else come across this?

Olivia Edwards23 said:Hey everyone.😍I've got a quick question for the group—if anyone can help me out, that is. I really don't have the energy to go digging through all the old threads in this sub right now.🙄
So, I’ve been seeing people toss around all sorts of conflicting info lately regarding nose jobs—specifically when you're looking at fixing a deviated septum while also wanting to tweak the aesthetics. It's one of those topics where everyone seems to have a different "expert" opinion, which is just great, isn't it? If you're dealing with a deviated septum that actually messes with your breathing, plus you're eyeing some cosmetic adjustments because, let's face it, life is too short to be unhappy with your profile, here is the deal: insurance usually only plays ball with the functional stuff. If a doctor determines the deviation is a medical necessity to fix your airway, your insurance provider might cover the septoplasty portion. However, once you start talking about the purely aesthetic side—the "I want this shape to look better" part—that’s almost always coming out of your own pocket. In many US surgical centers, they’ll bundle the procedures, but they will definitely itemize them on your bill. You'll likely see one charge for the medical necessity and a separate, additional fee for the cosmetic work. It's basically like going to a mechanic to fix a broken engine component, but then asking them to give the car a custom paint job at the same time. They'll do it, sure, but you aren't getting the paint job covered by your auto insurance. My advice? Get a consultation and ask specifically for a breakdown of what is "medical" versus "cosmetic." Don't let anyone give you a vague "it depends" without showing you the math. It can get pricey fast if you aren't careful.😬

It really just boils down to whichever doctor you end up seeing.
