China's economy: What's the move? in Formula 1 ·
Michael Lee4 said:Alguersuari lost his front wing right as he was heading into the pits, so the Shell car came out to clear the debris... which completely wrecked the leaders' momentum. They had built up this decent little gap, and now everything is just gone to hell.

If you ask me, the only thing worth a penalty here is Sebastian Vettel because he was crowding Lewis Hamilton and forcing him off the track.

Don't let TBF catch you saying that. 😁

Anyway, how does retirement sound to you guys? 😍
Looking at this lineup that seems to change every five minutes, it doesn't actually look like a bad way to go.
How does it actually play out during a race?

I’m not actually watching the race live. I’ve just got the stream running on ESPN. Why is there a pace car out on the track? What on earth is going on?

Pemzić is the absolute gold standard. Go Schumacher, go! 😍

I probably won't be catching the race since I'll be out on the field working. ☕

Morgan Murphy7, I have to hand it to you, after all these years hanging out on Reddit, you’ve certainly become our go-to guy for kicking off all those Grand Prix threads. 👍 🙏 😍

It’s not like it changes much, but I’m also standing behind Jason Campbell70 and his plan to get back into Formula 1. If they can go through the trouble of rehabilitating the Rain Master, then I don't see any reason why Jason Campbell70 shouldn't be given a shot too.

Good luck!

This thread is ancient history.
Digging up old threads and bumping them is against the rules here.

Since most of you probably weren't aware, consider this your official warning for the future. I'm locking this down now.

"Look, I'm obviously not thrilled about the penalty, but they can throw whatever they want at me. I'll just come back even stronger," the British person remarked.

"I saw the red light and made the call to stop, but there were two cars right in front of me, side-by-side. If they hadn't been blocking my view like that, I would have caught the light way sooner," Hamilton argued.

and the Raikkonen-esque take:

"I saw the red light and decided to stop. Someone else saw the exact same thing I did, but they just kept driving," noted the disappointed Finn.

The folks running the 2008 Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal handed out penalties to both Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg for some pretty reckless driving while exiting the pits, which ended up causing that messy double collision...

Both drivers will be facing a ten-place grid penalty at the next race, the French Grand Prix at Magny Cours in two weeks, meaning they'll start ten spots further back than whatever they manage to grab during qualifying.

If he wasn't colorblind, he would've realized the light was red right from the start. 😛

It’s almost like there aren't any traffic lights on the tracks where Lewis Hamilton is driving. 🙄

It’s like Lewis Hamilton just picked up a steering wheel for the first time yesterday. 🙄

Good grief, what an absolute circus this has turned into. 😲

And then there's Kimi Raikkonen. 🙄

You wouldn't believe it, but for once, Kimi Raikkonen isn't the one at fault.
Honestly, he’s just as much to blame as Robert Kubica is here. It was really just a stroke of pure luck that Lewis Hamilton didn't plow right into him, considering the guy clearly couldn't tell his colors apart.

Interpret what exactly?
It’s pretty clear you aren't watching the same race I am.
From where I was sitting, Kimi Raikkonen and Robert Kubica were just sitting there waiting at the pit exit because the red light was clearly still on. Then Lewis Hamilton comes charging in like a total idiot and slams right into Raikkonen.

So, whatever version of this story you're trying to sell, it doesn't match what I actually saw happen.

redheron12 said:there won't be any penalties; Kim just sped off too fast, tried to dodge the crowd, ended up in a collision during the rush—basically a "racing" incident

Forgive me, but what race on earth are you actually watching?!
Calling that a racing incident?! 😲

Nicole Reyes97 said:Dammit, Elizabeth Hughes, how did you manage to flag me with a yellow card that fast?😬

Whatever, it’s my own fault for being so reckless.😢 😁

Just watch the race! Keep driving! 😉
Trip Report: Canada (Montreal) - June 8, 2008 in Formula 1 ·
That was a hell of a race.
Finally, Kubica gets what he deserves! 🙏
By the way, I honestly think that third-place finish proves David Coulthard is having his breakout season this year.😬
