I went ahead and dusted everything off, but honestly, nothing seems to be overheating. Everything feels pretty normal to the touch, too. Got any other bright ideas?
I haven't touched a single video game on my PC in months, but I finally decided to download a few titles just to see if they still run. Turns out, they don't... The issue is that the games actually launch, but then almost immediately the entire system just freezes up on me, forcing a full hard reset every single time. I’ve already tried swapping through a mountain of different graphics drivers, but honestly, nothing seems to do the trick. My setup is running Windows XP, an ATI Radeon 8500, and I've cycled through everything from DirectX 8.1 to 9.0c—tried it all. Other than this specific headache, the computer runs perfectly fine for everything else.
P.S. Right before the whole thing hangs, the monitor loses its signal and the little LED starts blinking—you know that thing where it goes into standby mode and just sits there flashing?
I'm totally lost on where to even start looking for the culprit. Could this be some kind of hardware failure?
I mean, a JPEG or a GIF would totally do the trick, right? I’ve actually been trying to figure out how to get a decent DOC file out of CAD, but honestly, I can't seem to pull anything off besides just taking a basic screenshot. If you happen to have any bright ideas on how to handle this, I'm all ears!
So, here’s the deal. I finish up all my work in one specific program at home, but now I need to get someone with a laser cutter to actually make it happen. I was thinking about dropping by a local machine shop or maybe a FedEx Office, but they probably won't let me install my own software—specifically P-CAD—on their workstations. It's just too much of a security headache for them. That's why I'm looking for a universal file format that works everywhere.🙂

Look, here's the deal: when you install software like that, it basically sets up a "virtual" printer. So you end up with two options instead of one—your regular physical printer and this new virtual one. When you're in Word and you select that second "virtual" option, instead of ink hitting paper, it just "prints" a .pdf file directly onto your hard drive. You get me?🙂

Keep making those assumptions if you want to 😁
On another note, I just realized my PDF scaling is acting totally bizarre—it only hits a 1:1 ratio if I force the paper size to something smaller, like a half-sheet or just manually typing in dimensions slightly under standard letter size. Everything looks fine then, but man... it’s absolute madness. And God knows how much ink I wasted just trying to figure out what was going on. 🙂
I’ve been messing around with a few different programs lately, but I keep hitting this massive wall: whenever I try to print the PDF, the image size just doesn't match up with the original file. It always ends up coming out a few millimeters too small, which makes the whole thing pretty much useless for me—I'm working with electronics and printed circuit boards here, so precision is everything. If anyone knows a solid program that actually handles scaling correctly for stuff like this, please, hit me up!
PS So far, I've given Adobe Acrobat and Smallpdf a shot, but both of them keep giving me that same tiny, undersized printout...
Grace Phillips17: There actually is an Alien vs. Predator game out there 🙂
Anyway, the movie is just straight-up brainless... I just finished watching it and man, what a letdown... the Predator ended up looking like a complete wimp. There’s barely any fighting, and the scraps we do get are totally underwhelming... It sucks!!
Personally, I thought the movie was totally fine!! It just drags a bit in places with some pretty tedious, long scenes... It’s kind of wild how you can be watching someone struggle for their life, praying they don't die, but then you just stab them in the stomach with a sword and they're dead before you can even finish saying "cookie"! See ya👋
Just your typical, mindless action flick that I used to be absolutely obsessed with back when I was a kid (like, REALLY young)... From the moment I hit play I actually sat through the whole thing, mostly just because I felt bad about the time I'd already wasted before realizing the movie wasn't actually all that special... Look, there are definitely better Schwarzenegger movies out there than this one.😁
Looks like there’s a whole wave of historical epics hitting theaters soon... What’s the word on these? What have you guys been hearing lately? From what I’ve gathered, this one is shaping up to be massive... (some people are even claiming it might top Lord of the Rings, which is a pretty wild take)... And honestly, the cast isn't exactly a bunch of unknowns either, so they actually know how to act.😁

And "The Matrix"??? Seriously?
Alright, whatever.🙂 Look, all I know is they fight, dodge bullets, fly through the air, and do all that other crazy stuff.🙂
Some weird Japanese-Chinese-Korean-Middle Eastern mashup movie.😁
All I know is it’s that flick starring the main guy from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon... they've got those intense martial arts fights going on in this one too...
