I’m planning to pick up a power supply—likely one from Chieftec or a similar brand—along with a GPU just to get me through the summer. Once autumn rolls around, I’ll be building a completely new rig and transplanting both the card and the PSU into the new setup.
I've been testing my Sapphire NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB GDDR3 128-bit on Mass Effect (running everything on high settings), and I'm getting some pretty nasty artifacts even with an Overclocking of just 30MHz over stock (750/873)
What seems to be the issue here?
Should I perhaps bump up the voltage? If so, where exactly do I adjust that, and by how many mV? I have RivaTuner installed.

It really depends on your gaming resolution, but honestly, you should probably just look at replacing the whole rig. You aren't going to get very far with a Pentium D and a 400W Codegen power supply.
Even if you swap out the PSU for a modern card, that CPU is going to be a massive bottleneck... It comes down to how much you want to drop on a GPU, but personally, I wouldn't go lower than something like
an HD 6850 or a GTX 460—or if your budget allows, an HD 6950 or a GTX 560.🙂
I play at 1280x1024. I’d ideally replace the entire computer, but money is tight right now.
I don't plan on buying anything immediately; more like in three or four months (depending on whether I pass all my finals :S). For now, I'm just gathering info.
But if you're looking at a 4850, picking up a decent 400W unit shouldn't be an issue. With that Codegen, you could probably run a 5670 without any trouble... (it isn't exactly top-tier, but it does the job).
Alright, thanks.
Can anyone tell me which of the specs listed below actually matter?

Is it becoming less important what kind of power supply I use (in terms of brand and wattage)?
I'm running a 400W Codegen; I'm fully aware it needs to be replaced sooner rather than later.
How much of an upgrade would these cards be over an 8800 GTS 320MB? (I used to own one and was quite happy with it, which is why I'm asking.)
If I recall correctly, Professor Rosanda Mulić and her research team recently published findings suggesting that certain genetic markers play a significant role in determining waist circumference and body fat distribution. Interestingly, these genes don't seem to be tied to metabolic rate, but rather to how the brain processes reward signals and addictive behaviors.
It appears that for many, obesity isn't just about willpower; it’s conditioned by subtle biological differences in how their internal "hunger" and satisfaction mechanisms are wired. Some individuals develop a genuine dependency on the dopamine hit received after eating, which traps them in a continuous cycle of overconsumption.
On the flip side, anorexia might stem from a reverse calibration of this very same mechanism in people carrying a different variation of the gene.
My card started throwing artifacts after just three months (HD4670), though I haven't been gaming much, so it hasn't been a huge deal yet. I think I'll check my warranty and head over there to see what's going on.
