I wouldn't touch close-grip bench on the same day as this... given those sets at 220, how are you managing to hit "only" 285kg?
Jason Campbell70 said:My take is that significant muscle mass comes from moving heavy loads, primarily through compound movements. It works both ways.

When you're training, do you push toward your absolute maxes—meaning lower rep ranges than the standard bodybuilding protocol of 6 to 8 reps?

Right now, my main focus is hitting a 300-pound bench press. (I'm currently at a 120 kg 1RM 😳).
I'm convinced that once I hit that objective milestone, there will be a noticeable improvement in the more subjective, aesthetic side of things.

Because of that, I've been structuring my last few sessions around heavier weights and lower repetition counts.

Thoughts? 😁

For me, on heavy compound lifts (bench, deadlift, squat, overhead press, cleans), I start with 2-3 sets near my max, then follow up with 3 sets of 6-10 reps. I've managed to increase my deadlift by 65 lbs, squat by 35 lbs, and bench by 45 lbs.

I'm convinced that once I hit this measurable milestone, there will be a noticeable improvement in my physique as well, even if aesthetics are harder to quantify.

I'd love to hear your thoughts... 😁

Thanks, I know. I should have thought to check Google sooner. 😁

Is it actually possible to overclock a graphics card?
Could you share a link with some instructions if you don't mind?

Some people act like they’re the next Ronnie Coleman or some other elite pro bodybuilder, pretending they can actually taste the difference between Multipower and optimum... yeah, right.😂 😂 😂

If you wanted to say Scitec is trash because it’s loaded with sugar, fine. But for Multipower? Get real. Making claims like that is just ridiculous.

I’d bet anything that if stormyheron4 had chosen Multipower instead of Optima, she wouldn't have looked any better.

Even over on those old bodybuilding forums, the consensus is that for recreational lifters, you aren't going to notice a damn difference between optimum or some other slightly cheaper brands. You should just grab whatever works for you and fits your budget. There's no point in messing around with expensive stuff thinking it'll make you look better; you'll just end up broke without any actual results—unless, of course, someone else told you the product was crap.

No, I didn't, and you might want to read what I actually wrote more carefully.

I always get a kick out of these idiots. It’s funny whenever I read something from some "forum expert" who just repeats something they heard from someone else and now acts like an authority. Give me a break.

I've been tracking my protein intake on MyFitnessPal for a while now, and I'm landing somewhere between 60-85g. That averages out to just over 1g per kg, which still isn't enough, right? 😕

I'm hitting 60-85g in a single sitting. Obviously, that's not nearly enough. You really need to aim for 2g per kilogram.

It’s just too small of a muscle to isolate effectively. It’ll end up hitting the calves and building strength there instead.

It’s superior to the other options on the market. I’d recommend sticking with this, though if you have the budget for it, grabbing some Dymatize ISO 100 is a solid move too.

The quality isn't great, and while it didn't fall entirely into the trash, I just couldn't bring myself to take the shot again.

Here is the situation: I’ve started hitting the gym regularly—trying to go every single day—and I am slowly getting my diet under control. My trainer suggested I pick up the 🙂 Weight Watchers - Diet drink—basically a meal replacement made of protein, whey, and milk—along with another supplement containing L-carnitine. Has anyone actually used this stuff? Does it work? As you can tell, I am completely clueless when it comes to supplements since I've never used them before. I really don't want to waste money on unnecessary substances. 🤷 🤔

Don't throw your money away. She only suggested it because her gym sells it. It's useless.
