Edward Howard2 said:max explained that Grojean braked way too early☕

Well, maybe he did, but clearly this wasn't what he had on his radar. Personally? It looks like a standard racing incident to me. No need to make a huge deal out of it. I've seen much more seasoned veterans pull off far worse than this...

What you’re doing is actually out of line. I would never have phrased it that way... I'm asking the moderators to please take a look at this...

If you can bet on anything, it's that Mercedes will order Rosberg to hand his position back to Hamilton during the next race where he actually starts ahead of him—assuming we even get to see one more race this season 😬. You can take that to the bank.
And honestly? That’s going to sting Rosberg way more than whatever Hamilton is feeling right now.

I am completely convinced the team is going to make this up to Hamilton at Rosberg's expense. At the end of the day, they have to. This was quite literally a gift handed to Rosberg by the pit wall.

No, just look back at my previous post. Hamo didn't realize the limits of the car and couldn't feel how much grip he actually had left. Rosberg was the better driver there. Even with Vettel and Ricciardo outperforming their machinery, Rosberg was on another level. And the fact that the team is backing Hamo? Well, that's obvious to anyone watching.

Lewis was untouchable, both in qualifying and during the race itself. He earned this win fair and square.
Lewis handled himself beautifully on the podium, too. Hats off to him for that.

But then we get to the press conference. We find out he actually sent a message to his guy, worrying that his rivals might put on fresh rubber during the safety car period to threaten his lead. In the end, I think some of the responsibility lies with Lewis. He’s a veteran driver; he knows how difficult it is to overtake in Monaco.
And hey, seeing Ferrari's pressure injected into this year's championship adds a nice bit of spice.

Aside from Lewis, the drivers of the race were Perez and Button 🙏

Not only that, but he was asking about the brakes—specifically how to cool the fronts down. The response he got was basically "don't touch anything," because they needed to keep the car balanced and just keep driving the way he was. It’s telling that right after that, he only manages one fastest lap, while Rosberg and Ricciardo are faster than him—maybe even Vettel, I didn't quite catch that part... And then, after all that, he half-heartedly executes his "tactics" and dives into the pits, allowing them to pass him. Honestly, he got lucky to still be racing in Monte Carlo since Ricciardo was breathing down his neck... To me, he's largely at fault here for not knowing the limits of his car. He didn't feel the car the way Rosberg did, and this track suits Rosberg much better. Vettel was excellent, too. In my eyes, Vettel and Ricciardo were the best out there, followed by Rosberg, who was driving a significantly better car than those two. That doesn't take away from Lewis's achievements, though. He was fantastic and drove exactly what he needed to in order to win. Credit to them, but I have to give Hamo a thumbs down...👎

There's just no way they're faster...

Max is acting like he’s the king of the world after that one move, but he definitely paid the price for being green. Sometimes you just have to bite your tongue and realize you've messed up.

He won't make a mistake like that again... He got a bit too cocky... The kid is talented, seriously talented, but he's still learning the ropes.

Alexander Gonzalez79 said:If you actually believe the nonsense you're spewing, I honestly have to hand it to you. I truly admire that level of conviction.😁 It honestly looks like the worst kind of trolling I've ever seen.

The winner was simply better than whoever took third place, and there’s really nothing more to be said about it.

Ronald Campbell44 said:Good grief, you really are something else! 😁

The top two are clearly better than the third. What more do you even need to see? Hamilton didn't realize those guys behind him were driving right on the limit, and because he was oblivious, he missed his chance. It was naive, but that's just how it goes.

stormybadger8 said:Honestly, I couldn't care less about who's at fault here. 😉

I’ve gained so much respect for Hamilton lately. It’s really all about how he handled that situation. He didn't just go full savage and dive-bomb Sebastian Vettel during that aggressive overtake attempt like some complete amateur would have. He kept his cool, and honestly, that says everything.
And that’s exactly why he didn't go on a total tear at the end. He wasn't whining about how they stole the win from him or all that other nonsense. Instead, he actually had the class to congratulate Nico Rosberg, regardless of everything that went down.
That’s exactly what sets a real driver apart. Honestly, that kind of grit is why I respect him so much more than Fernando Alonso starting today.
They were all pretty much on the same level before, but now? Hamilton is clearly a step above the rest. 👍

He isn't exactly some amateur for doing that. But honestly? Let's just wait and see what kind of chaos breaks loose on Twitter today and tomorrow...😁

Ronald Campbell44 said:Those guys on the pit wall with all their telemetry didn't realize how big the gap was, but he really should have assumed...

Honestly, they knew. They just miscalculated. And he should have known better, too. He got complacent. He thought he’d put in enough fast laps to coast near the end, but you have to realize that once you stop pushing, that's when people catch you. Or maybe his car and tires were just so dominant that he lost touch with where the limit actually was. Nico knew, though. If I remember correctly, he clocked one of the fastest laps. Daniel Ricciardo was lurking around there, too... You see what I mean? You have to know exactly when you're driving right on the edge, and he just lost that sense. He tried to make a move late in the race while chasing Sebastian Vettel, but let's be real—the kid is just too good to overtake on a track like this, even if you have a faster car. You simply can't pass a four-time consecutive world champion on this circuit. It was obvious to him by the end, and I think that's where the frustration set in. That's why he ended up smashing into that sign at the finish...

Ronald Campbell44 said:Honestly, you’re just being exhausting. If today was a total meltdown and proof that he isn't the greatest, then you have much bigger issues on your hands.

He isn't the best. He's just driving the best car, and his entire team had a complete misunderstanding of strategy today... If he were truly the best, he would have won. Instead, Rosberg and Vettel were clearly the better drivers out there. End of story.

slydrifter39 said:Maybe he’s still carrying some frustration from 2010, when he spent about 20 laps stuck behind a Marussia in Monaco. It actually makes me think of another supposedly "elite" driver, Coulthard, who I think spent half a race trailing an Arrows back in 2001.

Right behind Enrique Bernoldi... And honestly, nobody has seen a trace of him in F1 since then.

stormybadger8 said:It comes down to the criteria again...
If there isn't actual damage caused to the other driver, you rarely see a penalty...
Kimi wasn't forced off the track and his car was fine. But Hulk got pushed out, lost a ton of positions, and had enough damage that he had to pit...

That’s always how they judge it whenever things get messy—trying to decide if it's just a racing incident or something worthy of a harsh penalty. That’s exactly why Alonso’s penalty ended up being so light...

But honestly, he earned it...

stormybadger8 said:The Mercedes strategists 🤦🤣🤣🤣

Hamilton 🙏
Honestly, the guy has matured. He’s acting way more composed than we've ever seen him before. 👍
I half expected him to just ram Rosberg's car when he pulled up, lose his mind, and go absolutely ballistic...
You could tell he was incredibly frustrated, but he handled the whole thing like a total gentleman. 🙏
Props to him. You need nerves of steel to pull that off. After today, he’s gained massive respect in my book—seriously, huge respect. 👍

Vettel had a great race, and Button was nothing short of phenomenal. 👍

He messed up because he actually listened to them. A true champion wouldn't have made that call in a situation like this... Sure, it's easy for us to play critic when everything turns into a chaotic mess and nobody knows what's going on, but he HAD to realize those two were close enough to overtake him. Instead, he followed his "strategists" blindly and got burned because they screwed him over. A real champion doesn't make mistakes like that...

neonfox65 said:Vettel is supposedly the best, yet he couldn't even get past Rosberg 🤣

And in the last race, Hamilton outsmarted him with a different strategy. 🤣

Look, he drove the absolute limit both last race and this one. He was pushing that car right to its breaking point, which is why I think he was actually the best driver out there... Honestly, better than Rosberg. Rosberg had the much more dominant car, and on a track like this where passing is nearly impossible, that car is just unbeatable. Neither of them made any real mistakes. Ham just messed up because he actually listened to the guys in the pit lane...

Well, they "pay him back" at every single race because he's the favorite... Both Toto Wolff and Niki Lauda...😁

I can't even joke about them being on par with the BBC anymore 👋

Honestly, any bottom-tier team with a decent driver can scrape together points here... especially on a street circuit like this one...

I'm really not, God forbid. It just makes me happy when Hamilton struggles, because it’s proof he isn't the undisputed GOAT. I'm just not a fan. What can you do about it? 👏

neonfox65 said:Why is Nico acting like he actually earned this win? Total fluke.

What do you mean "fluke"? He was given an opening and he took it. Just like Vettel would have. They both drove a solid race and they deserved it...

That whole bit with the sign was honestly pretty hilarious...🤣
