It’s a similar line of reasoning people have been using against Lotus...

That is absolute nonsense; even Koba himself admitted that the rain completely ruined what could have been an even better result in Germany, and let's not forget that qualifying at the Circuit of the Americas was also washed out by rain.

Bring on the rain this Sunday, I say...

It looks like we aren't going to get much of a look at the actual driving during FP2... 🤦

God willing, I hope we see them surge ahead tenfold tomorrow and the day after... 🙂

Even if we assume his career is indeed finished—though I refuse to believe it entirely, or at least hope against the grain—anybody at a press conference could have at least offered a simple "give my best to Robert"...

Aside from Kimi and Alonso, who else was actually close friends with him?

Honestly, I find it hard to believe that not a single soul during those nine races even thought to mention a Kubica, especially considering his fellow drivers on the grid 🙄

Kashiwa Reysol vs Yokohama F. Marinos

Reka mentioned waiting until after the first round concludes, but I simply cannot resist the allure of today's matchup...

Kashiwa holds the distinction of being the first club in history to secure promotion from the second tier and immediately clinch the top flight title the following year, though defending that crown will be anything but effortless. A major factor here is their commitment to the Asian league championship, and frankly, I suspect Kashiwa won't be able to maintain high intensity across all fronts simultaneously. They’ve already kicked off this season by lifting silverware last week in the Super Cup against FC Tokyo, where they secured a 2-1 victory.

Coach Nelsinho claims he is satisfied with the squad's current state. Regarding new signings, we have Ricardo Lobo arriving from Tochigi SC, who should alleviate some of the scoring pressure on Leander Domingues, along with Daisuke Nasu from Iwate—who also happens to be a former Yokohama F. Marinos player—intended to bolster the defensive line.

My gut feeling is that Kashiwa will fail to defend their title, though they certainly won't go down without a fight...

They begin their title defense in a massive opening derby against Yokohama F. Marinos, a side that faltered late last season during the four-way title race, ultimately finishing fifth, a staggering 16 points behind the champions. Their manager, Kazushi Kimura, was let go, and their primary striker, Kazuma Watanabe, was sold to the reigning second-division champions and Super Cup finalists, FC Tokyo. While the squad has been rejuvenated with a few younger players, and the core still features Japanese legends like Yuji Nakazawa—the absolute pillar of the Japanese national defense—and the indestructible captain Shunsuke Nakamura, I don't anticipate any significant improvement over last season's performance.

Pick: 1 @2.00 & under 2,5 goals @1.75

It should be fairly obvious from my reasoning why I am backing the home win. For those looking for a safer play, a double chance 1X could work if paired with another selection. As for the under 2.5 goals, I'm leaning that way because Yokohama F. Marinos is notorious for adopting an ultra-defensive posture when playing in big derbies. The last time these two sides faced off and saw more than two goals scored was three years ago in a 3-3 thriller...

Nicholas Chase34 said:I’m taking the under on Howard at 21.5, because I have a gut feeling he’s going to run into foul trouble early... he’s clearly unhappy in Orlando, which is bound to take a toll on his performance.

Send from Android using Tapatalk

It was pretty much the same story at the start of the month when Orlando beat the Washington Wizards 109-103, with Howard hovering right around that 23-point mark. In their first matchup against them, he dropped 28. The Wizards always seem to be his kryptonite, so if I had to choose between the over or the under earlier, I would have gone with the under...

Regardless, good luck. 😉

Personally, I see the real value in Orlando +8.5. They’ve handled Washington in their last eight meetings with an average margin of 17.2 points. On top of that, Washington just dealt with a brutal finish against the Milwaukee Bucks last night, while the Orlando squad hasn't even left the building since Thursday...

On top of all that, I’m also putting my money on a straight win for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Single - Chicago Bulls +8,5, an already explained pick.

If you're taking the single, I’d also throw in Al Jefferson over 18,5. Over his last three matchups against the New York Knicks, Al has been averaging a solid 25.7 points, and the last time he stepped foot in Madison Square Garden, he dropped 36...

For those looking to double up on combinations using three spreads:
Memphis Grizzlies (h-7,5) - San Antonio Spurs 1,30 2
New Orleans Pelicans (h-7,5) - Sacramento Kings 1,30 2
New York Knicks (h-9,5) - Utah Jazz 1,25 2

Memphis is heading home after a brutal loss in Boston, New Orleans is dealing with some pretty nasty injury issues, and New York... well, that's just the New York Knicks for you...

Memphis under 89.5 points

The Atlanta Hawks are sitting at a dominant 8-1 at home, with their only slip-up coming in that absolute thriller against Miami that went three overtimes... Since that game, they’ve been holding opponents to just 88.8 points while putting up a massive 103.2 on their own end.

The Grizzlies have absolutely nothing going for them in Atlanta, losing their last five matchups there and dropping nine out of their last ten total against the Hawks. They’ve lost their last three road games and, frankly, they are the worst visiting team in the West when it comes to scoring, averaging a measly 85.8 points per game... and now they have to deal with back-to-back trips to Oklahoma and Boston in just three days.

James Smith50 said:Regarding tonight, I’m looking at parlaying Oklahoma +7.5 with Miami and taking a single (either moneyline or spread) on both OKC and the Clippers.

It would probably be smarter to wait for news on whether Al is actually suited up, but I still feel like it's high time the Clippers snatched a win over Utah...

Miami killed the double, Oklahoma covered, and the Clippers finally grabbed that win—barely, but whatever...

they’ve only managed one win there in their last 31 trips, and they even got absolutely demolished by 30 points back in February...

That's true enough, but Paul wasn't in the picture back then.

It would probably be smartest to wait until we hear if Kawhi is actually suited up, but I still have a gut feeling it's high time the Clippers snatched a victory in Utah...

I just can't wrap my head around why anyone would bet on "this" Orlando squad.

As for tonight's slate, I’m looking at pairing Oklahoma City with a +7.5 spread against Miami and taking a single shot—either moneyline or double chance—on both the OKC Thunder and the Clippers...

We’ve officially moved into the second half of the season. So far, we've seen 271 games played, and it’s wild to see that a staggering 57% of them have gone under... The average score per game is sitting right around 188.9 points.

Last season, those numbers were sitting at 51% and 199...

Three teams have hit the under more than anyone else so far: the NY Knicks (13-5), Phoenix (12-5)—which is pretty interesting considering they’re both former and current D'Antoni squads—and Dallas (13-6)...

Amare Stoudemire 1 1,85
6/10

Since Amare is clearly struggling with his form right now, Dwight has some serious extra motivation tonight:

"Dwight Howard needs eight points to pass Nick Anderson (10,650) and become Orlando’s all-time leading scorer. For anyone else, that would be a career-defining milestone," Van Gundy remarked. "But looking at Dwight's resume, I'm not even sure if it ranks that high on his list. When you've been a First Team All-NBA selection, an All-Star starter, and the Defensive Player of the Year three years running, it's hard to say where this fits... though it remains a massive achievement."

Chicago (h-12.5) - Charlotte 1 1.85
5/10

I find it hard to believe that a squad with an offensive output as pathetic as the Bobcats can find any openings against what has arguably been the most suffocating defense in the league this season, especially considering they likely won't even have Rose on the floor tonight... Chicago is looking to ignite a 7-0 home start for the first time since that legendary '96-'97 run, and honestly, judging by how they’ve absolutely dismantled opponents at home lately—holding teams to a measly 71.8 points and a dismal 36.7% from the field—this shouldn't be much of a contest...

The Knicks have finally found their rhythm after a miserable start to the season, riding a four-game winning streak that was punctuated last night by snapping the Philadelphia 76ers' six-game heater... It looks like they might have actually stumbled upon a reliable point guard in rookie Iman Shumpert, which is something they’ve been desperately lacking while we wait to see when Baron Davis will actually step back onto the hardwood. He puts up at least 10 points every single game he starts this year, but more importantly for the Knicks, he takes the massive amount of pressure off Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire... Since Z-Bo remains stuck on the injury report, Memphis is going to have to lean heavily on Rudy Gay and Pau Gasol tonight. Tyson Chandler will be tasked with shadowing Gasol—and I suspect Marc Gasol won't give him much trouble—while Rudy Gay will have to balance his scoring duties with the job of locking down Carmelo...

Golden State - Orlando (188,5) OVER 1,85
5/10

Ever since 2007, the Orlando Magic and Golden State Warriors haven't failed to clear the 188.5 total points mark in their head-to-head matchups, and they've played nine times since then... Looking at Orlando's last 18 trips to face Golden State, the over has hit 14 times. Both squads are clearly built with an offensive mindset this season—interestingly enough, Golden State has been playing lights out against Eastern Conference heavyweights, with their only wins coming against Miami, Chicago, and New York City... Golden State is dealing with some injury issues, and Orlando's defense is likely to be exhausted and vulnerable following that trip to Portland...

Dwight Howard (22,5+) OVER 1,85
3/10

Both of Golden State's centers, Kwame Brown and Andris Biedrins, are looking pretty questionable for tonight's matchup, and if they can't go, Dwight Howard is basically going to have a buffet of easy buckets waiting for him... The only real concern would be if the refs decide to blow the whistle on him early, but my gut tells me he'll be the one picking up most of the fouls tonight...
