What happens to Indigo children when they grow up? in Spirituality ·
Are you a Starseed too?

What brought you to Earth?

"Starseeds" made a conscious choice to descend spiritually from incredibly high vibration levels (the 6th, 7th, or even higher) to leave behind the peace and security of the Pleiades. They chose to incarnate as human beings in the 3rd or 4th dimension with a specific goal: helping humanity raise its spiritual vibrations, fostering global unity and peace, repairing the environmental damage we've caused, and introducing new, elevated ways to live an angelic, spiritual lifestyle.
Unfortunately, right at the moment of reincarnation on Earth (Gaia), we get hit with this veil of amnesia. We basically forget who we really are and why we even showed up!
Most Starseeds have forgotten their mission, but once they start remembering, their lives become a huge inspiration to everyone around them.

Fixing the environment???
wtf.
They'll write just about anything.

I can't quite put my finger on it, but these kinds of videos are starting to make me feel a bit anxious... I'm not sure if it's because they aren't telling me anything new or if it's just the sheer drama of it all.

Lately, I’ve found myself getting increasingly annoyed by people who act like they have all the answers... and I tend to view Shimlesa that way, as someone constantly lecturing everyone. I don't get the impression he's actually that brilliant, though. :-) I suppose it's just starting to irritate me on a subconscious level.

You can learn something from anyone, really... regardless, he definitely knows way more about this topic than I do.

Betty Patel172 said:What defines an "indigo"? It seems you find yourself misunderstood by everyone while grasping everything yourself—a heavy burden for someone so perceptive. I see them everywhere, both here and abroad; they are all indigos, my friend.🙄

That’s just how this place is... the constant sniping and petty jabs follow us everywhere. But hey, that’s life. Take it for what it is.

I started this thread for a few reasons...

1. This stuff fascinates me. I find myself connecting much more with these spiritual "codes" than with the standard clinical labels used in psychiatry.

2. Looking back, my childhood fits the whole indigo profile perfectly. It wasn't until I grew up that I actually recognized it in myself and felt the need to bring it up.

3. I’m big on energy psychology. Someone who knows way more about this than I do told me long before I ever joined this forum that the color indigo dominates my space—which, according to several authors, is a classic sign of an indigo child.

4. When people like you mock us or act sarcastically, acting like we're just trying to sound smart or claiming we're "too sensitive" or "unadaptable"... it honestly just proves your point. It shows you can't grasp what we're talking about, which confirms that people like us really do exist and struggle.

It’s a burden, you know? Not a blessing. At least, that’s how it feels to me right now.
Here’s how I see things. You can live with it or not, in a world where everyone is constantly playing games and making fun of others.

Honestly, I wish my daily grind was less stressful. I wish I didn't always notice things that everyone else seems to miss. And don't even get me started on family dynamics, social circles, or how broken our societal systems are... let's just say I don't feel like I belong here.
This isn't my planet.
A lot of people say they struggle too, but they don't deal with symptoms or perceptions as intense as mine. They somehow manage to balance it all.

It’s a miracle I’m even functioning, especially after losing my sister to suicide about two years ago. A part of me just vanished. It was the trigger that set off this massive wave of pain and grief, leaving me feeling lost in my everyday life.

I’ve never been one to quit. I’ve always fought, gathered my strength, and pushed forward through whatever crap life threw at me... but lately, I’m just exhausted.

This forum is the only place where I can be real.
That’s why I make time for it. It means a lot to me, especially because of the people here who come with the same intentions I do.
Really great segment over at Sugar Mike's show.

It’s a shame they didn't dive much into how you spot an indigo child once they've grown up. Oh well.
Either way, indigo or not, I’m just moving forward by tapping into my spiritual side, staying mindful, and taking care of my inner child...
The more I learn about myself and my own boundaries, the closer I feel to the source. Whatever people call it or where it's hiding, it's enough for me to know it's out there. This world isn't our true reality, and honestly, that's plenty for now.
Living authentically, clearing out the bad energy, and getting back to nature always feeds my soul. It’s good for me, and it’s good for anyone else walking this path of love and transparency.
Love is what keeps me going. It's what keeps us all going. It just opens up your horizons and breaks down every wall. It’s a higher path. There aren't really any rules—just an essence we all need, and giving it away is the best feeling.

A little dance of emotions to wrap things up.

Deep down, we're all one. 🙂

Wait, you think you slid into my DMs?

Which clone of yours am I supposed to be talking to? Because it definitely wasn't this one—you're the one who messaged me.

Yeah, you're right, I was the one who reached out. Sorry about that, I wasn't paying close enough attention and I phrased things poorly.
Honestly, I don't really care about the whole "who messaged who first" thing... we're all just people here. Like Freud would say, it’s just ego getting in the way.😁
My bad again.
Joseph Bailey41 said:Did you get a message in your inbox too? 🤦

Oh, for sure. She’s everywhere. I just hope she’s doing her job well and looking out for us introverts. 😁
Joseph Bailey41 said:From what I've gathered about you, you seem incredibly sensitive and empathetic. Dealing with those harsher, more clinical versions of psychology just isn't your lane. If energy psychology helps you, then go for it—explore it, practice it, and pay attention to the positive shifts it brings. Ignore the outside noise, the brainwashed opinions, and all that nonsense. Focus on yourself first; once you find your footing, you'll be in a better position to help others, whether they're "indigo" or not. Let the world change at its own pace.

Thanks, Joseph Bailey41, I'll definitely keep that in mind.
How about you? To me, you seem like a walking encyclopedia—you've got such a massive wealth of knowledge, yet you always seem a little restless, like there's always something missing to perfectly balance everything out between heaven and earth. I often see you getting pulled into these petty arguments with certain guys on here, but I'm pretty sure you're way above that black-and-white thinking and ego-driven drama.
I tend to steer clear of gender politics and those kinds of debates because they're dead ends; honestly, souls don't have a gender anyway.
We could talk all day about those underlying hot-and-cold energies, but I feel like I haven't even finished middle school yet compared to you. 😁
At least I'm being honest about it.
Peter Murphy6 said:Does having the job and checking all those boxes actually mean you're satisfied—like, does it mean you've finally "made it"?

Honestly, feels like wearyrider16 is more about chasing that inner peace than anything external—just looking for that internal satisfaction, you know?

Having a polished life on the outside doesn't mean you're actually happy on the inside—man, if only it worked that way. Things would be a hell of a lot easier.

That whole "world pressing against your back" thing... yeah, I feel you there. But honestly? You can't fix that kind of weight just by moving this way—it's not gonna cut it.

Verd, it would be awesome if you could send over that star map you mentioned in my DMs. I think you might have forgotten about it, whether you meant to or not.

You mentioned you do it as a hobby, so I sent over my birth date and location, but I haven't heard back yet.

I'm honestly pretty curious to see what the stars say about me—like, who's really pulling the strings here?

Hope you're one of the real deal messengers. 🙂
Thomas Nelson25 said:Not quite adjusted...
they call it.

..it’s more like something you just intuitively pick up on when you're a kid—you feel it before you actually put a name to it.

Yeah, true.
I remember back in a psych class at my medical school, the professor gave us this assignment to write down how we’d handle an agitated patient as healthcare workers. She singled me out because I said I’d actually swap places with him—I was only 17 at the time—and she told me there was something wrong with me.
She just sticks to her rigid little templates and uses them to label students in her psych lectures.
It's awful.
She wants us to participate, but then judges us the second we do.
Enough for smart people.

There was another time when we were studying psychoanalysis (Freud believed patients wouldn't be driven to maladaptive behaviors once they understood their unconscious motives, and that the patient, guided by the therapist, had to reach the core of their own issues themselves)... I actually loved that subject and stayed active in class. I mentioned that a patient doesn't necessarily have to be strictly led by a psychologist, since those methods lack a spiritual dimension and need more interdisciplinary input. She shot me down, saying transpersonal stuff isn't for everyone and that energy psychology would never see the light of day—which, looking back from 2018, turned out to be totally wrong. It just shows the system is deeply flawed; it's neither transparent nor truly capable of handling the field it claims to teach. It's a total waste.

Also, Freud’s main goals for psychoanalytic treatment—intellectual and emotional insight into primary causes, exploring those implications, and strengthening control over the id and superego—just don't hold up. The superego isn't some fixed structure; it's fluid and varies from person to person. You can't really reshape it if it wasn't formed during childhood. And the ego, acting as a conscious level of psychodynamic defense, often ends up enslaving its own host, which defeats the whole purpose.

So, don't be surprised if I seem maladjusted. I don't feel like I fit in anywhere and I feel lost in their world when the very people meant to teach you the truth end up teaching lies, belittling you, dulling your mind, and forcing you into scientific models designed by some bureaucrats at the top of the educational food chain.

God forbid you call that actual education.
Anyone who feels maladjusted to that kind of chaos is actually perfectly normal. They just aren't built for most social organizations, mostly because those groups have already brainwashed most people.
Benjamin Taylor6 said:There's no way you're actually an indigo child... what makes you think that??

The real problem is that I’ve lost my way. Honestly, I'm not even sure who I am anymore or what I'm doing here.
I don't even have the energy to dig through all these psych diagnoses anymore. If I went by those labels, I’d probably be hooked up to life support by now. 😵

I'm leaning towards Indigo, mostly because I have 17 out of the 21 traits, which definitely makes me feel like I fit that description to some extent.

Ever wondered if you might be an Indigo child?

Does your kid already have a real sense of who they are? I feel like mine surprises me all the time with these little nuggets of wisdom that seem way too old for them.
Does your kid struggle with discipline or having a hard time listening to authority figures?
Does he actually handle waiting in line, or does bureaucracy drive him crazy? He’s usually pretty chill, but even he has his limits when dealing with endless paperwork.
Does your kid feel stuck because of those rigid, ritual-heavy systems that leave absolutely zero room for creativity?
Does he hit you with a barrage of impossible questions all the time?
Do you think your kid is super creative?
Do you usually multitask a lot, or do you struggle with ADHD and find yourself constantly jumping from one thing to the next?
I’ve always been a huge bookworm, but honestly? School felt like such a drag most of the time. I loved learning new things on my own, but the classroom stuff just never really hit the mark for me.
Do you find yourself constantly retreating into your own head, lost in books or daydreaming through the day?
Does your kid fall into one of these categories: super sensitive, both physically and emotionally, or are they more on the cold, angry, and stubborn side?
Can lies and unfairness really upset or sadden your kid?
So, is your kid a total genius?
Does your little one tend to freak out in big crowds? I’ve noticed mine gets pretty overwhelmed by loud noises, heat, or even strong smells.
Does your kid constantly demand real answers instead of those "baby stories" we tell to keep them quiet? It feels like they end up getting labeled as "difficult" just because they actually want the truth.
Does your kid have any standout talents? I'm talking about those skills that feel almost supernatural or just an incredibly sharp intuition.
Does your kid have a huge heart for others? I've noticed mine gets really worked up whenever they see someone struggling and just wants to jump in and help.
Did your kids start getting into computers and tech at a young age too? Mine was practically born with a tablet in hand.
Does he always go on about how he’d fix things at school or make society run better? It seems like he's constantly dreaming up ways to improve everything around him.
Does your kid act out or show antisocial tendencies even when they aren't around other kids their age?
Did your little one take a bit longer to start talking?
Does your kid ever give you that look—you know, that deep, soulful stare that makes them seem way older than they actually are?

If I really am an indigo child—or was one, growing up—I honestly have no clue. Nobody ever really sat down to talk about it with me. So, how do you actually figure out why you're here? And more importantly, how do you turn down the volume on all this sensory overload and material noise I feel like I was just dropped into?

I deal with this identity crisis stuff pretty often—whether I'm at work, out with my partner, or just hanging out with friends. Sometimes it hits so hard that I just shut down completely. I end up feeling like a ghost, staring blankly at everyone around me, just desperately trying to find my way back to who I really am. It’s hard to put into words, but it feels like I'm searching for a home that's still stuck somewhere in the fog.

Even though doctors have officially labeled me with anxiety, depression, adjustment disorder, and even some unofficial bipolar tendencies, I can't help but feel like there’s a strong "indigo" vibe to my personality too. Honestly, I'm just sitting here wondering what the point of all these labels really is.

I’ve actually tried reaching out to the mental health system several times, hoping they could help me through some psychiatric sessions, but it was a bust. Honestly, I walked away thinking they need help even more than I do—just in a completely different way.
It just doesn't work for me. They didn't help, so I don't trust them.
Everything else involving them is a whole other long story, but I won't go there because I think it's tied more to spirituality.

As for my indigo aura—which one woman who specializes in etheric light levels and energy medicine told me literally colors my entire being—I've come to realize I'm just not cut from the same cloth as the rest of the "normal world." I’d honestly love to hear from anyone else in a similar boat so we can swap stories, perspectives, and ways to handle daily life together.

Here's an interesting guide on navigating auras if you're curious:

I really want to turn this "curse" into a blessing and just live a bit more normally.

There are moments during the day where I actually pull it off. I feel like I have my life under control and I'm not letting these things trip me up. But generally speaking, I fluctuate too much and struggle to stay balanced. Internally, I’m struggling; I often feel like a kid stuck in an adult's body. Everything hits me hard, I overanalyze everything, and emotionally, I'm still pretty immature.
I feel chronically exhausted. Most days, I just want to spend all my time out in nature or talking about topics like this for hours, scrolling through the web looking for answers that might actually help. That's where the trouble starts, though. I can't keep up with the usual stuff—rushing to work, dealing with paperwork, the whole grind. It stresses me out until I just snap. And the worst part is, deep down, I know there are others just like me out there, we just haven't met yet.

On top of all that, I have this gut feeling that there's a deeper purpose to all of this, even if it hasn't quite clicked for me yet.
I’m curious—is there a specific term for what happens when "indigo children" grow up with all those traits? And how do you actually navigate life being one of them?

Anyone else feeling this way?

I’m starting to see these patterns in myself more and more now that I'm an adult, though I didn't notice much of it back when I was a kid.

Or maybe I just haven't fully grown up yet? Hard to say.

I just feel pretty lost lately.

It honestly feels like I'm carrying the weight of the entire world on my shoulders.

Believe me, man, plenty of people go through this... life throws some heavy stuff your way. I totally get where you're coming from. It’s easy to feel humiliated, disappointed, or like your self-esteem has just taken a massive hit. It leaves you feeling bitter, but there are still good things worth fighting for—things that can give you that spark and make everything feel worth it again. Whether it's faith, finding the right partner, starting a family, or something else entirely... I really wish I could do more to help. Honestly, if I could, I would, for your sake and mine. We can't fix all those problems you mentioned, but even just talking it out here on the forum can be a little boost. And that counts for something! For now, just remember you aren't alone in this. That used to mean a lot to me when I was struggling.

I'll pop back in on this thread every now and then to check in. Hang in there! 🙂

You hear more and more sad stories like this lately. I’ve been through something similar myself, and honestly, life can feel like this relentless, messy struggle against constant unfairness. There aren't any quick fixes for you, me, or anyone else caught in this mess... we're all just trying to survive a system that feels rigged from the start.

But look—everyone has their own path to walk. The easiest thing to do would be to just give up, but that's basically admitting defeat. Maybe try seeing a therapist first? They might prescribe some anti-anxiety meds, and if you need them, take them (speaking from my own experience). It's okay. Just keep your head up and try to push through this madness... don't let the world crush you; fight back as hard as you can! Plenty of us are fighting the same battle. You aren't alone, and hopefully, there's some comfort in that for now. 🙂

...as for the job situation and seeing a psychiatrist, that won't show up on your employment record. Legally, they aren't allowed to access that kind of private info... otherwise, who would ever work for the government??? 😂

Like I said before, I'm not making this up as I go. Everything I argue is based on the Bible, which most people just dismiss because they find it too complicated to wrap their heads around. Still, you’re observant and kind toward me, which is such a rarity these days. So, sending some love back your way. 🙂 I know how hard it is to let go—to surrender your pride, your ego, and that superficial wisdom. It’s just human nature! I get it. Until yesterday, I was a prisoner of my own conclusions and achievements too.

But right now, honey, you're a prisoner of the bible and its prophecies.

And in my heart and soul? I am so, so empty, sad, and incomplete. A total ignoramus in a world of educated people!!!

And so you are sad, empty, and incomplete. You still don't get it. Stop lying to yourself.

Well, fine, let time take its course!!! ... It's just human nature to attack what we don't understand, everything we're afraid of!!! 🙂 ... whoever has the sense to see it, will see it!!!! Adios! 😉

Look, sweetie, you've got issues with the world and with yourself. You're sensitive, gentle, and wounded, but there is love and softness inside you. Ditch the bible, or at least ditch those Jehovah's Witnesses, and follow your heart. Otherwise, you're going to lose it. There—that's my "diagnosis, prognosis, and cure" from the doctor. 🙂

Adios to you, too.... 🙂

All this attacking is just what happens when people don't know any better! We don't even know each other, yet you're jumping to these conclusions!!! It really shows where your spirituality is at and how much prejudice you have—it's typical for people who claim to only follow their hearts. Honestly, in a civilized society, we'd call this being rude and uncultured. But I guess that's just become the norm these days, unfortunately. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-T61s1_5RM enjoy.

Honestly, seeing groups like the Jehovah's Witnesses makes me want to shake things up a bit. Despite all those smiles and the "sending love and kisses" routine (which feels like a performance where you play the good little soul waiting to be saved), maybe a little anger or some cursing would be more honest. But I won't provoke you; I don't want to jeopardize your spot in that perfect world where the lamb and the lion graze together on the same ice floe...

I get it. Because of your sensitive nature, you feel this deep need to cling to the skirts of some supreme heavenly authority. Just an amateur in a room full of experts. But hey, let time do its thing. It's just human nature to attack what we don't understand or what scares us. 🙂 ... those who know, know. Adios! 😉
