I read somewhere once that being unattached is the secret to true resilience, and honestly, I think there's a lot of truth to that.
The God who gave you life is the only one with the authority to take it away. If there's any small comfort to be found, it's this... they are gone, but they left this world by the will of the One who loved them even more than I ever could.

Nah, honestly, I don't really experience any of that.

melloworca6 said:Jason Reyes9, this isn't how you handle yourself on this subforum. You came here looking for advice, and people actually took the time to give you some decent, well-meaning pointers. They showed you where to go; whether you choose to follow them or just ignore everyone is entirely up to you. It’s your health and your business.

Oh man, my bad! I just saw that... I mentioned I was scared, and then she basically told me to calm down. But you know, when a doctor refers you to another specialist, it's not like you can just brush it off. It's heavy stuff.

melloworca6 said:I don't know, shaking if you haven't eaten in three hours isn't exactly normal. You should probably go get that glucose tolerance test or whatever it's called. They monitor your levels throughout the day so you can actually see if your blood sugar is acting up.

No one can tell you that on an internet forum. 🙂 Sure, it could be something related to blood sugar. So what? You still need to run actual tests before anyone can have a smart conversation about it.

All you're going to get here is guesswork that might not even be relevant. 😉

Mr. Oiseau suggested looking into my thyroid... maybe someone else will point me toward a third possibility. Walking into a doctor's office totally unprepared and then getting hit over the head with a random diagnosis is incredibly stressful. I just want to be ready for whatever options come my way.

I mean, why would that cold sensation start at my neck and head and then travel down, mostly hitting my right leg? Why start from the top? There has to be a connection somewhere.

Roger Martin3 said:Now, Jason Reyes9, let's dial back the drama just a notch. I wasn't attacking you; I was actually trying to calm you down since you seemed so worried that Dr. Hrvoje had reached some terrifying diagnosis that he's just refusing to share with you.

And what exactly do you think is going to happen here—do you honestly believe someone is going to peer into a crystal ball, give you a diagnosis, and prescribe medication? That is simply impossible—it's just not how things work—and the only place you'll ever get real answers is in an actual doctor's office.

So, with that being said, I'm deleting this from your thread. 🙂

If you want to have a productive conversation in the health subforum, you really have to learn how to talk
to people who believe they have medical issues while simultaneously asking an imaginary doctor on an internet forum for help...

Seriously, if we all just went to our local GP and stopped using this subforum, it would stop functioning entirely because of people like you.

And what makes you think you can read Dr. Hrvoje's mind? 😕 I watch House all the time, but I don't walk around acting like I'm a medical expert to everyone else.

gentlesailor25, your blood sugar is low, which usually means you're dealing with way too much stress and anxiety. Don't burn yourself out. Everything is going to be fine.

Roger Martin3 said:Look, you can’t really say anything definitive without first going through a full review and getting actual lab results—it just isn't possible. When symptoms like yours crop up, the standard recommendation is to run a complete battery of tests—just as Dr. Hrvoje suggested to you—and only then should anyone start drawing conclusions or making official diagnoses. 😉

Please, just try to stay calm—it’s easier said than done, I know—and head over to your primary care physician for a proper evaluation. Once you're there, they will review your initial tests and determine if you need to see a specialist or undergo further diagnostic imaging. Based on that clinical assessment, they'll be able to give you a much clearer picture of what is actually going on.

Listen, dear, who do you think you are?😕 Is there a problem with my posts on this forum or something?
This whole subforum probably wouldn't even exist if everyone just went straight to a doctor. If that were the case, I'd basically be acting like Jason Reyes9 and just sending every single one of you straight to your GP.

Be reasonable and back off from my thread.

melloworca6, look, all I want is at least some indication of what kind of conditions might match my symptoms. That way, I can see if I recognize anything in the descriptions, which makes it a lot easier for me to actually go see a doctor.

jadeviper49 said:Unfortunately, based on what I've seen, doctors generally don't know much about how all these different minerals affect the body. It’s worth experimenting a bit with your diet to see what works. Are you taking any supplements? Sometimes they just cram everything into a multivitamin, which isn't exactly ideal...

I had an ultrasound too, and everything looked perfect, yet my TSH is still above the limit and I've been diagnosed with hypothyroidism (though I already knew because of the symptoms).
Look, having it documented in black and white isn't a bad thing—ultrasounds usually only show changes once the thyroid has been struggling for years, and by then, it's often too late to intervene...

Two years ago, when I asked my doctor for a thyroid test referral, he just gave me a standard blood panel and told me "you're healthy." If I'd listened, I might have caught this in the early stages... so my advice is—get it checked. It won't hurt...👍

Ugh, tell me about it! They look at one lab report and say everything is fine, but meanwhile...🙄
Right now, I'm taking Omega-3s because my vitamin levels came back low on a recent test, and I'm also supplementing with minerals—magnesium chloride, calcium... potassium, mostly just eating bananas.

And now you're left second-guessing everything, wondering if things could have gone differently. Seriously, these doctors... it makes you lose all trust in them, and honestly, who can blame you?

vividsailor7 said:And just how much is the IRS taking out of those "hypoglycemic" payouts?

I’ve had just about enough of this nonsense. Seriously, how many times do we have to go over the same tired arguments before people actually start listening? It feels like I’m shouting into a void sometimes. Every single time a new topic comes up, the same group of people pops up with the exact same half-baked ideas, acting like they’ve discovered fire when they’re really just recycling old garbage. It’s exhausting. It’s frustrating. And frankly, it’s beneath the level of discourse we should be having here. We need actual substance, not just endless cycles of repetitive whining and baseless speculation. If you don't have anything new to add to the conversation, then why are you even participating? Just stay quiet and let the adults talk. Period. kaže:
I’ve got this weird symptom popping up, and honestly, I can't for the life of me find anything useful about it on Google.
Look, I’m telling you, it’s happening again. Every single time I sit down to eat, I get hit with this absolutely brutal, bone-chilling coldness that just takes over my entire body. It’s not just a little shiver, either—it’s a full-on, deep-seated chill that makes me want to wrap myself in three blankets and hide. It’s honestly infuriating. I’m sitting there trying to enjoy a meal, and suddenly, it feels like I’ve been dropped straight into the middle of a blizzard in Chicago. It’s exhausting dealing with this.
Sometimes you get those random tremors or twitches—what could be going on there?

Get in touch with your primary care physician immediately.

Now I'm actually getting nervous. You guys have figured something out, and you won't tell me directly—instead, you'll just send me to my doctor to have him break the news.

jadeviper49 said:If your pulse stays that high constantly—even first thing in the morning right after you wake up—it wouldn't be a bad idea to get your thyroid checked. Especially since you're fatiguing so easily, you might be dealing with mild hyperthyroidism.

Ha. How dangerous? Anything causing those kinds of bodily reactions over the long term is definitely harmful. In any case, it would be smart to go get some tests done for what you described.

For me, about two months ago, my heart started pounding much harder (not faster, just... I could feel every single beat), especially after lunch. At first, I couldn't even sleep because of it. It’s calmed down quite a bit now, but I have no clue why. If I drink too much fluid all at once, I feel terrible; eating more salt helps me out. My blood pressure is 130/70 (I usually lean toward low BP).

These things are strange. 🤷

That sensation of your heart pounding harder can be caused by hormones, but it could also be a mineral deficiency. You mentioned that salt helps you; that makes sense because salt retains water in the body, which would bump your blood pressure up a bit.
When my heart starts racing, the first thing I think of is potassium. If I'm low on that, my heart starts thumping like crazy.

As for my thyroid, it's fine. I had an ultrasound, though not a blood test.

Just yesterday, I noticed that chill while I'm eating, and those tingling sensations traveling down my neck and then down my arms... and then I have to bundle up under a blanket for a while.
I'll mention it to my doctor.

Lisa Myers said:Look, I’m no expert, so take this with a grain of salt, but I was thinking about circulation.

What I mean is, besides blood sugar—which I also considered—maybe there's a neurological component at play here. How's your blood pressure looking? You should really try tracking it both before and after you eat. Based on what I've been told, your pressure should stay steady or maybe climb just a tiny bit after a meal. It might be dropping for you, or spiking hard, though I'd bet against the latter.

That actually occurred to me too—you know, that thing where you eat a heavy meal and all the blood rushes to your stomach
to digest everything, leaving you with weaker circulation...
My blood pressure is usually fine, but if I eat something really salty, it spikes and I can't sleep. But I'll definitely try testing it before and after meals.

jadeviper49 said:Are you drinking a ton of fluids throughout the day, and does it actually make you feel better or worse?

Possible electrolyte imbalance (sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium...). Have your doctor check for this at your next blood panel.

Are you avoiding salt for some reason?
People these days drink way too much water while simultaneously dodging salt—it leads to hyponatremia.
Do you have any heart issues, like palpitations or a racing pulse?

A few thoughts...

My pulse is high, around 90-100, and I get tired really fast. I do drink a lot of fluids, but I definitely have that imbalance because I take supplements on top of my regular diet... Is that dangerous, if it really is caused by an imbalance?

Jose Miller3 said:For most people, yeah.

But for some of us, those numbers jump way up after a meal. For others, they don't move at all. Everyone deals with insulin regulation differently...

Metabolism is just way, way too complex to assume everything is fine just because your fasting IRS levels look okay. There could be a million different things going on under the hood that show up as symptoms even when your fasting glucose seems perfectly normal...

Go see a doctor. Seriously, don't mess around with this stuff... 😉

What else could it be besides blood sugar? I've been searching online, but I can't find anything that matches what I'm feeling.

melloworca6 said:I don't know, if this has been going on this long, just go see a doctor. It clearly isn't going to fix itself. I know people get hit with stuff like this when their blood sugar crashes, but since you say it happens right after eating, that's probably not it.

Are you on any medication? If so, maybe check the fine print in the instructions to see if there are side effects like that. 🤷

Alright, thanks... I'll run it by my doctor and see what they think. If they have any insight, that is.

Jose Miller3 said:"My blood sugar is fine" is a bit of an overstatement if you ask me—I’d say 🤷

Checking with the IRS multiple times a day under stress is one thing, but what about an insulin profile done while resting?

A single fasting glucose test (this is just my gut feeling, so bear with me if I'm off base) really isn't a strong enough diagnostic tool here 🤷

It’s happened more than once, too. He’s done fasting blood sugar tests first thing in the morning—maybe four or five times over the last year—and every single time, the results have been solid. In fact, they always seem to be hovering right near that lower limit.
We all feel it, don't we? That little sugar spike right after a meal. It’s just part of life. It's perfectly normal.

melloworca6 said:Does this happen after every single meal? How long has this been going on?

It might be something related to blood sugar levels. 🤷

It’s usually after breakfast and lunch... and honestly, it's been happening for a few months now.
But my blood sugar levels are fine; I don't think that's the culprit.

I just get hit with this intense chill, no matter how much I eat or
what I eat... then about thirty minutes later, the coldness starts to
fade away, though sometimes I even get the shakes.

I’ve been dealing with this weird symptom that I just can't seem to pin down on Google,
basically, whenever I eat something, I get hit with this intense, overwhelming chill,
and sometimes it even turns into full-on shivering. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing that?

Real sadness is getting dumped by some girl after a football game.

Alex Moore6 said:Your mindset is just completely warped. This whole idea feels like a bad plot point from some cheap B-movie. But hey, you did manage to make me laugh.
If this girl is truly desperate, then I honestly don't see how you can be so certain. You don't know a single thing about her, let alone my own finances or what I look like. Honestly, your claims are so baseless they're actually insulting to her.
Have you ever even been to a Dallas Cowboys game? Are you even aware of how many women show up to matches? Do you really think they're all just hunting for an athlete with a fat bank account? Come on, stop generalizing.

A real man would go to games
for the right reasons, not just to hunt for some girl because you clearly think the stadium is a dating pool...

Next time, try going to a figure skating competition instead. There are plenty of fit guys in spandex there, so at least your ticket money won't go to waste.

I'll catch a handball match too, since I played the sport for five years.
And I'll hit up football games just to watch my brother referee or play.
I genuinely enjoy it.🙂

Girl, that is such shallow thinking.🙂

If you want a future, quit being so stubborn and get into sports.

Alex Moore6 said:I don't get why she's a "slut"? What's your logic there?
Look, I'm not trying to start a fight here, but I'm genuinely curious. Based on what you're saying, are all women who grab a drink with someone else while still having feelings for their ex considered sluts? That seems like a pretty weird way to look at things. And if you're implying she bailed because of how I look—well, if you'd seen my face, you might actually have a point, but I doubt that was the reason she ran.

And honestly? The reason she wanted to buy the drinks is probably just because her judgment is better than yours.
She'd much rather pay for a round than toss that money into a charity bin.

It’s classic gold-digger behavior. She went to the game hoping to score a pro athlete, and when that didn't pan out, she decided to try her luck on Facebook. Knowing she was risking meeting some total creep, she made a desperate move and went out with the first guy who showed up—which happened to be you. Then, after being disappointed by her experience—whether it was looks, conversation, or just your bank account—she bolted from you faster than Usain Bolt.
Looking for a girl with a nose piercing in Miscellaneous ·
Alex Moore6 said:Look, I’m going to ask you nicely to stop talking about her like that. Based on my own life experience, I know how to spot a gold digger, and she is definitely not one. She only went out with me because I asked her. Does she have to be some total outcast just because she's still dealing with her ex? She could have easily lied to me or played games, but she was completely honest.

She went out with you to see what you were actually made of. Once she saw the reality of the situation and talked to you, she bolted. Doesn't that just prove that even if she's a high-maintenance woman, she still has standards?
I'm sorry, but someone had to give you the reality check. It hurts, doesn't it? Let the truth sting a little.

Alex Moore6 said:I got shut down hard. 😢
I didn't say anything wrong—she was sweet, totally normal, and just brutally honest.
She actually offered to buy me a coffee just to thank me for my effort. Turns out she’s still hung up on her ex and isn't looking for anything serious.
I respect the honesty, though. Since I'm persistent, I asked if there was any chance for something else, and that's when she officially put me in the friend zone.
And man, did I like her. Like, really liked her.

She went out with you—a complete stranger—while she's still pining over her ex?😕
Maybe there wasn't anything good on TV, so she just needed to kill some time.🤷

Honestly, she sounds like a total player who flirts with everyone. If it didn't work with you, maybe it's just because you didn't know how to play the game. That's the real issue here.
