Harold Rodriguez84 said:Ladies and gentlemen, I feel compelled to share my experience undergoing treatment at the Mall of America under the care of dr. Krpan at his clinic in Santa Barbara. Driven by debilitating pain from osteoarthritis and osteoporosis, I opted for magnetic resonance therapy. During our initial consultation, dr. Krpan assured me I was an ideal candidate with an excellent prognosis; he predicted a 60% to 80% improvement in symptoms and up to a 30% increase in bone density.
The regimen consisted of 23 one-hour sessions, totaling $4233. Since I live in Monterey and was unable to drive, my son had to chauffeur me, making each round trip nearly three hours. I paid the full amount in cash upfront, yet no receipt was ever issued. I eventually reported this violation to the IRS, and only after nine months of their investigation did a receipt finally materialize. One has to wonder: did dr. Krpan face any actual consequences for withholding documentation?
My intention is to warn others suffering from similar ailments and alert the American public so they are not defrauded, robbed, or humiliated, as I so clearly was.
In fact, when I underwent a densitometry scan nine months after the treatments, my bone density remained unchanged from two years ago, while my pain levels actually increased by 30% to 50%.
My son and I returned to dr. Krpan to demand a refund—which would have covered four months of my social security benefits—but he refused. His behavior was rude, inhumane, and utterly unethical. When we mentioned the specialists we consulted following his "therapy," he responded, and I quote: "Those people are mere amateurs and hacks; I mentored them all, and without me, they would be nothing. If it weren't for me, this type of treatment wouldn't even exist in America."
It seemed every sentence he uttered began with "I..." Ultimately, he kicked us out, stating my only options were to accept his treatment or rely on crutches and a wheelchair. He also tossed in a free session, which, predictably, did nothing.
Greetings from Monterey
Has anyone here actually had positive results using magnetic resonance therapy for osteoporosis?
Medications like Fosamax carry numerous side effects, and hormone replacement therapy is equally problematic.
Could a treatment plan consist solely of calcium citrate and Vitamin D3 drops? 🤔🤔
Laura Martin74 said:Exactly! 👍 They ought to provide updates periodically—what actually caused this mess? When is this expected to be fixed (and I mean a REAL timeline, not just some mindless deadline extension 🙂)?
Honestly, if they actually intended to fix this, it would have been resolved ages ago. None of us have any clue what is happening or have any useful information. It feels like Reddit thinks they own a monopoly on forums and don't face any real competition, so they feel entitled to act however they please, knowing people will stick around regardless.
Almost everyone used that feature because it was helpful, but now ads are popping up constantly 😠
Reddit should at least attempt to find a compromise. For instance, why not remove those obnoxious full-screen ads—which I'm sure are driving everyone crazy—until the search engine issue is sorted out?
In truth, everyone should simply stop visiting the forum, stop posting, and boycott the site until this is resolved. If half the users stayed away, I suspect the problem would be fixed within hours ☕
I can't even view posts or threads myself. Neither my own nor anyone else's. How much longer is this supposed to last?🙂🙂🙂

What on earth is a "police virus"? 🤷

I was seeing the exact same issue a year ago.

I ran into the same trouble myself.🙂 I finally have access to the forum today.🙂☕

Honey, that isn't an issue. It is simply the reality of living in a world full of foolish men.😁
No, jokes aside. Perhaps the issue is that you attempt to secure a commitment too quickly. You give everything away too soon. Once they feel they have fully conquered you, they flee.
Your comment about waiting until you see that a man "likes" you suggests something else. Are you perhaps projecting an air of desperation? Do they run because they feel trapped?
And then there is the matter of being intoxicated. What kind of sane man would look for a serious partner after meeting someone while drunk? You are looking for romance in all the wrong places.
How is the author unaware that she keeps picking the wrong, problematic men?🤷
Amanda Vaughn3 said:Usually, they’re hard to reach—and they tend to act just as unavailable as everyone else.
Could you perhaps be a bit more specific? 🤷
Jacob Turner5 said:Who are these "unavailable" people? Do they actually have some hidden vampire streak that eventually turns them off? Is it just their way of sucking your energy dry? Maybe they just crave that attention—makes life simpler, right? And honestly, is anyone even obligated to hang out with anyone else anymore? That’s the question of the day... though why am I even asking?! If this is all just one big joke, then fine, it's easy and fun, but these draining types are starting to amuse me more than they bother me—I'm taking them less seriously lately. I have this chill philosophy where I slowed my whole life down, which will probably be my undoing. If you truly want someone by your side, you have to be ruthless. Only those kinds of people really make it in this world. Jesus Fucking Christ. I wish I could just draw it for you—some people simply aren't good for you, and some people just click perfectly, and it might surprise you how weird those pairings can be. Don't romanticize it; if someone feels distant or unavailable, there's usually a reason.
Does that make things easier for you?
Anyway... the catch is... by running away... YOU'RE WASTING TIME. What if nobody helped you when you were wasting yours? Would you still try to help that person avoid wasting theirs just to watch them fall apart? A million questions. Does it make sense to be "better," and will it hurt too much? When is the best time to just give up? We're all just sinking under the weight of Time...
I don't see this as some game or a joke—God forbid, these are peo-ple, you should understand that. Once you actually look at the situation, you get it.
It's all crystal clear.
I know I probably annoy you just as much as I annoy myself, but that's just how it is.
Do something.
Just be happy with who you are right now, even if someone is being distant.
If you haven't climbed the Himalayas yet, does that mean it's a recipe for everyone's happiness?
Should it be?
Maybe these unavailable people are just unhappy. Maybe they don't get why you need them as friends. Maybe that's just how they are, and maybe (definitely) we should love them exactly as they are.
Get up if you've fallen; we've all been miserable or had crazy thoughts at some point. Maybe you're the one avoiding them, not the other way around. Hmm... maybe you just don't know what to say to them. Or maybe you don't even really know them. Honestly, it might be impossible to fully know someone because perfection doesn't exist. Everyone changes; nobody stays static. I wish I could.
Maybe you're avoiding them because you're insecure, or you feel unattractive, or mean, or whatever. Or maybe you just don't need someone like me—someone who can sit here and write something like this. It's all pretty confusing, isn't it?
Doubts HAPPEN, but should you build your entire life around them?
Maybe you only want to see these people when they're happy and it suits you, so you keep a polite distance. Who is happy, who is miserable, who only acts caring when it's convenient—just to wrap a big success in a layer of performative kindness—that's the ultimate question. You can't trample over someone and then act super cool the next day. Is that the detail you missed? Are you actually avoiding them because they have a trait that scares you?
We're all weak, isn't that funny? These unavailable people? Do news outlets or TV shows sell stories like that? People love watching it, but nobody actually believes it.
Maybe it's too late, but you probably thought that the moment you met them, didn't you? People are simple. Lately, I really hate the idea that we all have to look out only for ourselves and live like islands... Maybe they're distant because they aren't attracted to your misery or the vibe you put out.
I don't even believe people like this exist outside of myself, but hey.
Other people have always been... selfish at their core.
Just my humble experience. You'll definitely learn something... if you try.
What kind of run-in have you had with emotionally unavailable types to make you write all this out? ☕
Sam Wright21 said:I find myself agreeing with the bolded point. Speaking from my own experience as someone who is currently quite a mess, I have absolutely zero desire to get involved with someone who is equally—or even more—unstable. It would likely just spiral my own dysfunction further due to a sort of pathological empathy, and my self-esteem would inevitably tank because, let's face it, you can't bring a smile to the face of someone that deep in the trenches. In any scenario, failure is basically guaranteed.
I once found myself walking away from a deeply troubled partner, feeling physically ill because his sobbing was so gut-wrenching. 😲 I truly had to wonder what kind of cosmic lesson I was supposed to be learning from that. 🙂 In the end, who is really sensing whom? Are we spotting them, or are they spotting us?🙂
silentowl74 said:I have observed that this supposed "attraction to broken people" is primarily a tactic employed by those seeking to bolster their own fragile egos; specifically, individuals brimming with a self-assuredness that borders on narcissism, who attempt to cast themselves as "heroes" by attempting to fix someone else. It is essentially a way for them to cultivate a sense of moral superiority, playing the part of the "savior." Naturally, this occurs only after they have established a baseline of physical or perhaps even intellectual interest, but once they identify someone as "damaged goods"—a term frequently tossed around here—they pivot toward caring for those in even deeper trouble just to feel more accomplished.
So, does one mess just find another mess?🤷
Zachary Mendoza2 said:You can find all sorts of rationalizations out there. Some people honestly believe they don't deserve better, so they're too afraid to even try for someone high-quality. Then you have those who view themselves as saints, convinced their endless love can somehow heal a broken person and turn them into something decent. And then there are the ones with massive egos who think they're too good for any of the five great options available, choosing instead to pick someone toxic just so they can "fix" them.
It’s all total bullshit. Broken people gravitate toward broken relationships. It's just a traumatized mind carrying the weight of the past, trying to relive that history in hopes of finally overcoming and healing it. Usually, it passes once they reach a certain level of maturity. As you get older, you start to realize how much stability actually matters. 👍
Frogger, what happens if "normalcy" never becomes valuable, regardless of how old you get? 🙂☕
copperfox52 said:I’d say there’s definitely a connection back to how things went with our parents growing up. For instance, if you had a parent who was emotionally distant or just totally checked out, you might find yourself subconsciously chasing after that same kind of dynamic as an adult—almost like you're trying to get a "do-over" to finally fix what went wrong back then. But hey, that’s just my two cents as a layperson.
It feels like I fall into this pattern way too often where I end up fixated on someone who is either physically far away or just emotionally unavailable. Honestly, I would love it if a professional could jump into this thread and weigh in to help explain why this phenomenon happens.
I also would love to see a professional join the conversation to shed some light on this phenomenon. 🙂
rustydrifter10 said:I’m actually right there with her on this one. 😳 😁
She definitely has her reasons, but man, I really hope she starts hanging out here more often—maybe even gets back into moderating. 🙂 Either way, it’s just great to have her back.
😍
Listen, this isn't the place to rehash old grievances that have already been locked away, so let's not go down that road again. But I completely agree that ex anais was a fantastic moderator, and I'd love nothing more than to see her return to that role. That said, the choice is entirely hers, and all we can do is respect that. And maybe, just maybe, she'll soon realize that no matter how busy life gets, nothing in the real world can quite replace the Forum. 🥳
😁
Honestly, that's pretty much all there is to say. She’s dear to so many people and so many would love to see her back, but there's really not much else to debate here. :/
Nadia, it is heartening to see that some of us still recognize true values... 🙂😉

single person on this
Reddit. Second, can we get a lock on this? 🤷
Third, who even is this "unknown" person? 😍
I’ve been spending quite a bit of time lately scrolling through Reddit. I read and observe, yet I find myself sensing a distinct void. For some time now, we have been deprived of the insightful, wise, and seasoned commentary provided by our dear Vail. 😢 Furthermore, I no longer see the contributions of the wonderful ex anais. 😢 Then, by sheer coincidence, I stumble upon this specific subreddit—one I rarely visit—only to encounter mindless grievances directed at ex anais. While I haven't had the pleasure of meeting her personally, that doesn't mean I won't one day. However, I can say that many frequent Redditors and I have gained much to hear, read, and learn from the brilliant ex anais. She may be somewhat biting at times, but that is simply because she is an exceptionally honest, sincere, and decent individual. She is someone who insists on bringing the truth to light.
Ex anais, if you happen to read this, please return; your presence is missed. You are the very trademark of Reddit. Without you, Reddit is merely Reddit! 😉
