Man, why hasn't even graniteotter6 shown up yet? Seriously... Look, I'm gonna go ahead and call out mellowotter36 myself, just so I don't end up looking like a total loser here...
Honestly, if someone actually competent decides to step up in the meantime... yeah, I’ll gladly hand over the keys to the kingdom. Someone else can deal with this mess... good luck to them...

Best World Cup semifinal match ever?

Ahaaaa!!!
The Tapatalk app isn't showing me any poll or the list of games or anything... just the posts.

Honestly, I have no clue what you were even trying to say there. I'll just chalk it up to old-age dementia—though we should probably decide if it's yours or mine first...
I’d also be siding with that '82 semifinal everyone was talking about. No other game even comes close when you look at it through those lenses. A distant second? Maybe Bulgaria-Italy from '94. Mostly because I was rooting for the Slavic brothers back then, against those always-hated Digić guys.
If we're talking about Euro semifinals, though, it’s gotta be France-Portugal from '84. But yeah, those ones from '88, '92, and '96 are right up there too.

Three runs a week. Diet? Honestly, just winging it... nothing special.

I distinctly recall him running a half marathon back then; he was an older guy, but he looked incredibly vital, running like he was in his twenties. If you catch my drift, there was this one ad where he basically implied he’s still performing just fine in the bedroom, or something along those lines. 🤣
God, tell me about it... and I’m actually younger than him. 👍
Five months of training for a full marathon should be plenty, assuming you can even handle a half marathon first.

Paul Chase95 said:To be honest, I’m not really sure—I’d have to dig through the old logs over at the local rec center to find them. The crew used to post all their training reports there, so I’d always upload mine too—routes, splits, everything—usually just taking screenshots of my apps. These days, though, I don't obsess over the data quite as much; I just run because it feels good. It's become a bit of a ritual for me since I don't drink, I don't smoke, and I don't eat junk—well, I stick strictly to what I prep myself (unless life gets in the way), so I guess you could call running my one little "vice."
I’ve finished four half-marathons, for what it's worth.
How about you?
When you're running just for the fun of it, you don't even need to stress about the clock or your pace. It's all about the rush. Me? I still geek out a little over the stats—timing, heart rate, all that data my watch pulls in. I actually finished a full marathon once, too.

What kind of pace are you running at? You actually hitting up races or what?

Since cecbe is the one who actually started this whole thread and kept it alive, I guess it’s only fair he gives us a little Sheldon-style lecture...

graniteotter6 said:Damn, fourth place... Philip absolutely wrecked him there. Lost way too much ground in the middle section.
He totally blew it by trying to overtake on the left, and then this guy just shut the door on him. Honestly, if he’d gone right, he probably wouldn't have made it through anyway since that gap was way too small...
Then he just lost it and went wide at the turn because that Norwegian guy kept swerving in front of him, basically blocking his line so he couldn't pass.
