Hasn't the Red Bull mafia totally imploded yet from all that internal drama cracking at the seams? 😁

But seriously... what's the deal with that rear wing? Why does Vettel have the new one while Webber is stuck with the old version? 😁
His hands just aren't following the pit wall orders again... 🤣

Seriously, someone just kick him out of the garage and fire him already... ☕
I mean, how do they even let him get away with this... 🤣
darkmarlin16 said:Seriously though, who are these "clones" everyone keeps talking about? 🍿

well, there's an entire thread about that over on your old corner of the forum... 😁

So, does the winner actually get a prize?
I’m the one handing out the prize for the "Presvetli Cup." Basically, at the end of the season, I'm buying a six-pack for whoever wins the "Presvetli Cup."

Yeah 😁exactly.

Go ahead, try explaining to the U.S. Treasury how you, Dorian, and Terry Carter2 run a sports prediction game on an online forum where prizes are handed out... then come back and tell us what they have to say about it. 😁
Terry Carter2 said:For now, yes. Like I told you, I have no desire to step on the toes of the moderators or management. Even if I wanted to, I have zero motivation to rush into deleting points or anything of the sort...
Try to stop looking at this solely from the perspective of someone without clones. Just imagine for a second that you were the one sitting in the accused's chair.
Picture this: you rack up a mountain of points, you're leading the championship, and then suddenly you get hit with a ban—maybe even a permanent one—that you claim is completely unjustified. Then, some self-righteous bystander steps up and insists you need to be disqualified immediately. The manager actually goes ahead and does it, having no clue that you’ll eventually prove to the moderation team that the ban was a mistake, allowing you to rejoin the fray.
Ten days later, you show up back in the competition and say, "Hey, I'm playing again, why on earth would I be disqualified?" (I assume you follow my logic here)
Then that same "righteous" guy pipes up, saying, "Well, yeah, why wouldn't they let him back in!" and so on...
Meanwhile, I'm the manager sitting here all night long, typing, calculating, deleting, recalculating, and typing more, just going in circles. Look, I shouldn't have to kill myself just for the sake of the Formula One World Championship.
😁

Look... and your whole thing about handing out penalties (not even debating if they're fair) on the championship thread is mixing administrative roles with moderating if that's how you see it... but honestly, talking about "what ifs" is pointless... what if you weren't a mod or whatever... the fact is, you *are* a mod, you caught the cheating, and instead of using your position to protect the integrity of the competition, you're making things complicated by validating Joker predictions for guys you know are just clones...
If you think a cheater can prove to the admins they aren't using clones, just set a 7-10 day window for them to do it. Don't publish the official results until that period is up. We can post provisional results for Malaysia with a note saying they might be adjusted due to certain reasons. It's much easier to wait ten days for the final standings than to deal with the fallout later when we realize clones were stealing points from people who actually earned them.
Also, it's useless to speculate about what would happen if this was discovered halfway through the season while someone is leading the pack... the reality is we caught it right at the start. This is actually a good thing—we caught it right after the first race, so we can nip it in the bud, disqualify the clones, adjust the results for Australia, and head into the second race with a clean slate.
I get that as the organizer, you have to deal with the headache of deleting and correcting everything... I used to run things too, so I know it's a grind... but I'd much rather redo the math five times than let someone make a fool out of me by running a competition filled with clones... cloning is the toughest kind of cheating there is, and I really don't think there should be any mercy or pity for anyone who chooses to go that route...

As for the copying issue... I voted against changing anything, not because the current rule is perfect, but because it doesn't *need* to change for the competition to work better. I feel the same way about changing the scoring system; there's zero justification for changing it mid-season if it's been working fine for three years, especially if the only reason to change it is because certain individuals had bad luck. 🤦 That whole mess reminds me so much of that first race back in 2009 when they were also only counting drivers in the exact positions...🤣
Terry Carter2 said:I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about; take that up with the moderators! 😁

Just kidding!

Don't you think the competitors have a right to know there are people among them cheating in the championship?
Don't you think the competitors have a right to know that such a player will be allowed to continue playing in this year's championship?

In my view, cheating should be sanctioned much like it was back in 2010—by disqualifying all multiple clones from the current season and banning them from next year's competition. It shouldn't just result in an apology and an invitation to keep playing. Doing this sends a dangerous message: "Go ahead, clone yourself... and if you get caught, the worst that happens is your clone gets removed, while the original can keep competing as if nothing happened." 🤣 You even have a joker card to ensure you don't miss a round... 🤣 and then you just find another colleague (or simply create a new clone and be more careful next time). 🤣

The fundamental issue is that this specific situation isn't explicitly defined in the rulebook, so I have to rely on my own judgment.

The Commissioner is acting here as both the organizer and a moderator, so they are aware of the situation, but that doesn't mean they are obligated to act in a certain way. A tournament director isn't required to dig through the PZK, nor are the moderators obligated to submit reports regarding bans directly to the Commissioner.

A ban, in its essence, isn't necessarily permanent (as we've seen even with supposed permanent bans), and there is no guarantee that a competitor won't be reinstated by a higher authority before the deadline for the next forecast.

Every competitor in this championship is welcome, provided they respect the rules and are prepared to face the consequences if they violate them!

In my management system, I did not account for the withdrawal or expulsion of competitors from the championship!

Those are, in short, the reasons behind the decision to allow both banned competitors to continue in the championship, strictly following all existing rules!
If you or anyone else knows of any other clones in the championship, feel free to speak up!
😁

This is really just a matter of common sense rather than strict rulebook stuff. 🤣

Besides, there's actually a specific rule for these kinds of messy situations...
Terry Carter2 said:Rule 14: If a controversial situation arises during the competition that isn't explicitly covered by the points in this Rulebook, the race director will make the call using common sense while sticking to the principle of fair competition.

I really don't see how this is "fair competition" for those of us who aren't running multiple accounts...

How exactly do you think both of them can keep participating? 😁 It's not exactly right if the clone users just hang around for the next three races waiting to play their jokers, is it? 🤣
Quick question for the host here... 🤣

Don't you think the racers deserve to know there are people among them actually cheating in the championship?
And don't you think they have a right to know if a player like that is just going to be allowed to keep competing in this year's season?

In my book, cheating should be handled the way it was back in 2010—when everyone using multiple clones got disqualified from the current season and banned from next year's race. Instead, we're basically giving them an apology and an invitation to stay in the game. It sends such a terrible message... like, hey, go ahead and clone yourself. If you get caught, worst case scenario is they just delete the clone, but the original guy gets to keep racing like nothing happened. 🤣 You even get a "joker" card to make sure you don't miss a round... 🤣 then you just find another teammate (or just spawn a new clone and try to be more careful next time). 🤣
redheron12 said:I’ve said it a hundred times already—I have absolutely no intention of following the rules regarding this championship. The forum, the parent company, Monitor Doo, and the owner aren't involved in organizing or managing any of this, so frankly, I couldn't care less about their regulations.

Regarding the whole debate about copying—personally, I’m all for it. I think it's perfectly fine if teammates decide to put out identical predictions.

Of course you have to follow the site rules.
It doesn't matter if the owner isn't personally jumping in; they still have their staff (mods and admins) who handle everything...
Our forum competitions are hosted right here on the site, so they fall under the community guidelines and all the standard regulations that come with that...

But seriously, I'm asking the mods directly: where can I find the official registration and the permit number from the state authorities authorizing the Presvetli Cup prize giveaway?
Terry Carter2 said:So, what exactly are you proposing?

I say we definitely need a way to let those competitors vote if they can't get to the PDF right when the election hits—maybe just have them weigh in over on the F1 thread in the off section.
As for everything else, I think the best move would be giving voting rights to anyone who’s actually competed before. Basically, if you've stepped onto the track for even one race in any competition (whether it's a league or a tournament) over the last four seasons, you should have a say. Of course, we gotta stay sharp against clone accounts and people who just "promise" they'll show up next year but have never actually participated in anything. We'll definitely run into folks who click a name just because, even if they aren't playing, which means we'd end up having to manually tally the votes anyway. The only exceptions to this rule should be asdfg5 and bambus17; since they haven't officially competed yet but are running for leadership, we should let them cast their own votes if they want to.😁
I’m actually against doing two rounds of voting because it just plays right into the hands of anyone running multiple candidacies.

Anyway, I’ve noticed nobody has actually clarified who gets to cast a vote in these elections...
Is it just anyone, regardless of whether they plan to compete next year?
Or is it strictly the active competitors from the current championship?
Maybe all competitors in the current championship, even if they aren't playing next year?
What about everyone competing in any event this season?
Or—and this sounds crazy—every single competitor from every single season we've ever had, obviously excluding clones since we have no clue who's showing up next year?
And what about competitors who can't even access the subforum right now (you know, the banned guys or those dealing with partial restrictions), since they’re technically still competitors too?

We really need to nail this down before the voting officially kicks off.
mistybear87 said:What's really the issue here? Why reinvent the wheel if most of the existing rules don't actually need changing? Let's not get ahead of ourselves...

Well, here's the kicker: from what I can see, he's the one running this whole election, and now suddenly he's in a massive rush. It’s funny because he previously said there was zero hurry. He's basically got just two candidates to choose from, and he's the only one who hasn't stuck to his word—to be fair, he did say every candidate should draft their own set of rules. But one of these two candidacies is just a total copy-paste of the current rules, which he hasn't even bothered to touch... so yeah, more problems there. It looks like a straight-up conflict of interest... wouldn't you say?
I don't get it... why does Terry Carter2 get to run for more than one position? And to make matters worse, for one of those roles, he just copied someone else's rulebook, slapped on a few cosmetic tweaks, and called it his own.
Isn't the whole point that everyone should write their own rules from scratch? That way, they actually understand what they're doing and can actually follow through on them.

Clap!

I mean, seriously, why should I even listen to what some random person says and just take it as gospel? I’ve got two perfectly good eyes right here, and I can judge the situation for myself. Whose opinion am I actually supposed to care about?
So, I was just reading some takes from those British commentators, and man, they are really out here swinging! They’re actually claiming that Vettel stands as the seventh greatest driver to ever grace the track—somehow ranking him above Alonso. And get this: they’re even arguing that Stirling Moss, despite never having snagged a single championship title, somehow holds more weight than legends like Jackie Stewart or Niki Lauda. It’s wild how much debate these guys can stir up, right? Just one of those crazy opinions that makes you stop and wonder what they're actually watching.
Or should we just take Miljenko's word for it? He’s out here claiming Hamilton is the third-best driver to ever grace a track, basically saying that both Hamilton and Vettel sit higher on the throne than Prost or Schumacher. What do you guys think? Is he onto something or just talking nonsense?
Or should we just cater to those Alonso haters who spend their entire day waiting for him to open his mouth just so they can flood the comments with emojis? 🙂 It’s such a joke when people start acting like little babies. Like, if Lewis starts whining on the team radio because Charles is holding him up during the third practice session at Indianapolis—yeah, we know, it's just a practice session—then suddenly those same people are the first ones to cry foul. It's pure hypocrisy. 🙂 Sending some love to Alonso! Seriously, why the sudden silence from everyone else? It’s funny how "objectivity" and "expert knowledge" seem to vanish the second things get interesting around here. Just goes to show, right?
Who exactly is this global NASCAR legend you’re talking about? Like, why on earth should I take their word as gospel just because they have an opinion?

That’s exactly what I’m getting at... You guys seem to miss all the whining from everyone else for a million different reasons—and that was just one example—but the second Alonso opens his mouth, you all make sure to catch every single word. 🙂 If you’re gonna drop an emoji or call someone a crybaby, don't be surprised when nobody takes you seriously. You can't claim you aren't hating on Alonso and that you're being totally objective about his recent incident if you're busy mocking people for complaining. Pick a lane, honestly. 🙂

That’s all I’ve got to say on this whole Alonso and Kimi situation.

Look, I'm gonna pass on this one. I don't really do arguments at this level... 🙂 👋

Honestly, I think Kimi is the one to blame here. He just went in headfirst without thinking, trying to squeeze through where there was zero room to move. That corner is tight, and once he realized he didn't have enough speed to clear it before the turn—especially seeing Jenson Button coming up on Alonso's right side—he should've just backed off a bit. Instead, he went full stubborn mode and tried to force it, and well, boom. Alonso had every right to hold his line because Kimi simply didn't have the overlap to force him to move right or leave space. Kimi basically caused the collision himself. That said, I don't think he deserves a penalty. It’s the start of the race, first corner madness, and he isn't exactly the type of driver who usually goes rogue like this. Still, plenty of other guys have already picked up penalties for being just as reckless or overly optimistic...

This is just wild 🙏 I can't even wrap my head around how someone could actually believe this stuff. Honestly, I’m assuming the guy is just trolling. If he’s being serious, then I'm genuinely speechless.

That part about Button was pure gold 🤣 🤣 🤣

I know exactly what your "objectivity" looks like when it comes to Alonso, so let's be real—I haven't taken your takes seriously for a long damn time. 🙂

But hey, 🙂 I'm not gonna call you out for trolling just because you've got a different opinion than me.
