Fair enough. Since you're already admitting you're just talking trash... we'll keep that in mind when we read whatever else you decide to spout next. 😉

Just pure guesswork!!

You’ve made baseless claims like this before, and you’ll probably keep doing it too since you always let your gut feelings run the show instead of looking at the facts. 🤣

Bradley Nelson2 said:you'll see tomorrow 😛

man, you literally told me the exact same thing yesterday 😂😂😂

Bradley Nelson2 said:look, we'll find out tomorrow, but I honestly doubt Piquet makes it into Q3.

it's pretty much proven that your predictions aren't exactly spot on 😂😂😂

Bradley Nelson2 said:I highly doubt it. He’ll probably be hitting the pits 3 or 4 laps before everyone else.

Come on, what makes you so sure? Did your buddy at Ford give you some inside scoop?😂😂

Do me a favor and actually check the lap times before dropping jokes like that...

Fernando Alonso was driving 0.020 slower than Kimi in Q2, and then 0.091 slower in Q3. All that tells me is Kimi's car is lighter than Alonso's, not the other way around.😛

darkmarlin16 said:What do you mean by a combined broadcast? Who gives a damn about the English soccer league...

Man, this network is driving me absolutely nuts. 🤣
They’re doing a split broadcast for qualifying, which basically means they’ll prioritize soccer over Formula 1 again, just like last time. Then, they'll probably dump some ten-minute highlight reel late at night... essentially showing the whole qualifying session in the middle of the night. 😵
It's like the English Premier League is way more important than F1 to them... and then on Sunday, they'll probably cut away from the US national tennis match just to air an F1 studio show. 🤷

neonharbor18 said:You mean Fernando Alonso taking third place in this scenario, right?🤷

So, looking at the numbers, Alonso actually clocked the fewest laps out of everyone after Heikki Kovalainen. He only did 26, while Nelson Piquet and Kimi Raikkonen both knocked out 38. It’s pretty obvious they were playing a totally different tactical game with him. As for tomorrow? I’m calling it now: I expect to see Alonso right ahead of Piquet, just like he usually does.

neonharbor18 said:Anyway:

The final results looked totally bizarre because of how different everyone's strategies were. The Force India drivers actually managed to hold onto those top two spots through... The first forty minutes. Free practice kicked off, and at first, Adrian Sutil was setting the pace. But honestly? He didn't stay on top for long before Giancarlo Fisichella came charging through to snatch that first place right out from under him.

So yeah, that doesn't really mean much.😉

And hey, even if Kimi Raikkonen pulls off a win at the end... I guess that doesn't really mean much anyway.😕

Bradley Nelson2 said:Haha, yeah, and I’m going to win the Powerball next week. ☕

Look, up until this last free practice session, Piquet had been finishing somewhere between 7th and 19th—that's ten times this season alone. But now? He just grabbed 2nd. That’s a massive jump in my book. And if we assume the car is actually decent—it's just been held back by a slower driver on the team—I’m calling it now: they are going to absolutely rake in points in Spain. 😉

rustystag7 said:but I still just can't wrap my head around the fact that Barrichello and Irvin were total busts, period. 😁

Honestly, I think Barrichello really didn't get a fair shake at what he could be, but Irvin? Yeah, he was definitely a dud. 🤷

Irvin, Barrichello, and Massa were basically just backup singers in an orchestra led by Schumacher.
None of them stood a chance at anything more than that.
With Irvin, you could argue he might've had a shot if Schumacher had crashed out in that second race of the season. If that happened, probability says he might've grabbed the title in '99. But since Schumacher stayed on track, we can't call that season a "big break" for Irvin—though it was easily the best year of his career, so I guess that says something.

rustystag7 said:Look, you're basing all of this on theories that just don't hold water...

Regarding year five, you're being totally unrealistic because Ferrari was in a complete tailspin back then. Schumi was holding it together against McLaren and was basically the only bright spot in that whole mess... to me, the whole vibe reminds me of Alonso and Renault this season....

And you know damn well that Schumi was basically cruising to the title last year...

I mean, it's impossible to say what would've happened if things went differently, but one thing's for sure—looking at how unmotivated Kimi was during those first few races, he definitely would've snatched some wins.🤷

Last season, Kimi won more due to luck than anything else. And I say "luck" because he wasn't doing it all on his own merit; he was leaning heavily on Massa...

Just think back to that Ferrari start... look, I'm rooting for that crew, but man, instead of pushing forward, Massa goes from P1 straight into blocking Hamilton.😉

As for Irvin, the issue is that Cojo spent six races in that bad spot you're talking about, fine. But he had the rest of the season left! (Race 7 was when Schumi broke his leg fighting Irvin, meaning in a rematch, he actually finished second)... Sure, it came down to the last two races, but Schumi was the one driving for him during those two.🤷

But Hakkinen eventually shut him down again. It’s not like he didn't get plenty of chances to prove himself.

I'm not using "theories" at all; I'm strictly going off my own memory and looking at the actual numbers...
Since you brought up Alonso, the guy won the championship with Renault in only his third year after joining them, working with a practically brand-new F1 team.
If we're playing the "what if" game, if Schumi had been at Ferrari last year, he wouldn't have even been in the same zip code as Alonso in the McLaren. McLaren was the dominant car for most of the season, which is the only reason Schumi could play any significant role at all.

rustystag7 said:Hold up a second, guys. What are you even talking about? He joined Ferrari when they were absolute trash—a team that hadn't even touched a championship in 20 years...

Sure, back at Benetton he might have had a killer car, and honestly, he probably had a hand in that too since everyone raves about how much he knows his way around the mechanics and how he knew exactly how to tweak things to suit him. Having the best car doesn't automatically mean you're taking home the trophy back then...

But from the moment he stepped into Ferrari onwards, everything was strictly down to him. I really don't see any point in downplaying those titles...

It actually took five years after he arrived at Ferrari before they finally grabbed the title. That's way too much time having passed for anyone to claim it was solely his doing.

rustystag7 said:If any driver today managed to take their team to the top, you'd have to tip your hat to them. Personally, I think once Schumacher left Ferrari, you could really see all the gaps that were left behind by his departure...

Yeah, as soon as he walked out the door, they won the championship just two years later. And if you ask me, I think they're right on track to do it again this year.

rustystag7 said:And regarding his teammates, Irvin actually proved his worth when Schumacher broke his leg. As far as I can remember, for the rest of that season, Schumacher basically played second fiddle, making all those comments about how he'd help out however he could.🤷

Whoa, that's a pretty intense example to throw out there...
I think Irvin managed to snag his only four career wins during that exact season where Schumacher wasn't driving the whole thing. If he’d been running neck-and-neck with Schumacher at Ferrari from the start of the season, he would've been the champion, since he ended up finishing only 2 or 3 points behind Hakkinen.
As for the "rest" of that season, we're only talking about two races, one of which Schumacher finished a spot ahead of Irvin.
Irvin drove great that year. Honestly, his only real regret is that Schumacher didn't break his leg earlier in the season.😂

He’ll just grind through the rest of the season in that Torro seat until he gets canned by the team and kicked right out of Formula 1😂

Arthur Doyle70 said:Look, I’ve never been a fan of the guy, and yeah, he definitely had some perks handed to him, but I think you’re being a bit dramatic about how many titles he actually earned.

Nah, I’m really not exaggerating here...
most of those championships—specifically back in '95, 2001, 2002, and 2004—he was basically driving a rocket ship while everyone else was in beaters. Back at Benetton, his teammates were guys like Verstappen and Herbert, who just weren't even in the same league. Then once he moved to Ferrari, he was the undisputed number one from day one, so his teammates never even stood a chance to show what they could do.

darkmarlin16 said:If he had two or three titles, it’d be different, but he mostly just coasted on his own reputation. Honestly, one title from Senna counts for way more than all seven of Schumacher's combined.

I'm with you on this one...

Most of those wins happened because he wasn't even racing against top-tier cars on the track, and let's be real—he won them all without having a single teammate who could actually push him.

He was a rookie getting half his advice from the absolute GOAT. Honestly, if he didn't have Alonso in the garage, he probably wouldn't have even snagged a win last year.

Raymond Ortiz89 said:Of course Sumi was supposed to win. Everyone saw that coming from a mile away. But hey, you can't exactly fight against pure disobedience and just plain old bad luck. That's just how the game goes sometimes.

Look, you actually used a better word there—"expected." Just because that’s what was on your mind doesn't mean everyone else was thinking the same thing. Honestly, before last season kicked off, I didn't see Alonso taking the title either. Mainly because I totally underestimated how competitive McLaren would be. I just didn't think they'd be pulling ahead of Ferrari like that during the races.
Raymond Ortiz89 said:Look, Hemic totally outclassed Alonso there. I don't care what anyone says, there's really no point in even debating it at this stage. Case closed.

Your arguments are honestly super. 👍 🤣

Raymond Ortiz89 said:Of course Hamilton was better than Alonso. Look, Alonso came in with two titles under his belt, so he really should have been winning whenever Hamilton did. It's like comparing LeBron James to some other superstar—if you stack up the wins like that, you see the difference clearly.

Man, you're actually hilarious. 😂😂😂

So by your logic, Schumacher should've been the champ in 2005 before Alonso just because he had seven titles and Alonso had zero? That's wild.

Besides... Alonso only finished just one spot behind Hamilton in two races, whereas Hamilton ended up finishing worse than him in six different ones.
