How do I upload images and videos to the forum? in Forum Help! ·
Jason Grant2 said:Hi there. I’ve posted an image, and right now it’s just displaying as a link, which is exactly what I’m aiming for. However, once I log out, the full image appears instead of just the link, and that isn't my intention.
How can I fix this setting?

If you're referring to this specific thread, you set everything up correctly, so the image shouldn't be displaying at all. It sounds like this might be something on your end, honestly...

I’m not sure if you’ve even checked in since your ban was lifted, but the reasoning back then was pretty clear: your record hit the limit because you spent about thirty different threads calling people idiots or claiming they just bought their degrees from John Smith. You really need to drop that act...
As for trolling others, I haven't seen much of it, other than people simply standing their ground on their own opinions.

Regarding everything else, look, every sub-forum here is basically its own little universe with its own set of internal rules. Someone posting the kind of stuff you see over at Alternative Everywhere would probably get banned for life. People over at Alternative are allowed to believe that Tesla was shooting lightning bolts out of his hands if that's what they want. Just because there are some heavy, serious discussions happening over there doesn't mean we won't let someone let their imagination run wild every now and then. The only exceptions are specific discussions that could actually pose a risk to public health. That’s the policy for now, and if we ever feel the need to change it, we will...
If you’re looking for a truly rigorous debate, you should check out the natural science a few topics about tesla section.

Nancy Howard4 said:The movie might have looked a little naive at first glance, but honestly, we’re heading straight there, so I’d probably just call it a documentary at this point
Back in 2006, it’s like they already knew that by 2020, the USA would be halfway through the exact plot of that film.
The characters in the movie were pretty mild, so they basically just delayed the total insanity by a few years, but if you ask me, we're going to hit that breaking point way sooner.

Those are just empty generalizations. The world hasn't fundamentally changed; only our technology and culture have evolved. There have always been fools and there have always been sane people, but in the past, we only focus on the outliers that survived the filter of history. Most of today's idiots will likely just be forgotten by time once they're gone...

I found the execution pretty interesting. I’m honestly not sure if this is meant for kids, though, because you have certain scenes that feel totally juvenile while others are just downright grotesque... it gives off more of an adult animation vibe. The whole atmosphere reminds me of those classic sci-fi epics from the late '70s and '80s, something along the lines of Silent Running.

You can always mess around with the advanced search settings... just select the specific sub-forum and set it to display the oldest posts first. Another way to do it is to click on the post count within the thread, then hit the number next to your username, and it should pull up nothing but your own posts...

The cast is top-tier, especially the teacher and the cop. And that tone... well, what more can you say about a total legend?
I might just give it another viewing down the road.
It’s such a shame Gregurević didn't live to see this finished. But hey, that's life. He basically dropped out of the academy early.

Could you maybe elaborate on that? Was Ivo supposed to be a mayor, or a father figure, or something along those lines?

Exactly. Their first truly great film relies heavily on those extended shots and very sparse dialogue. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0072248/

But seriously, why is it that I can't seem to pull a single significant director's name out of thin air from...
Portugal, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Latvia, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic...

Because...
It’s pretty obvious that being a damn good director isn't easy...

There’s no magic formula to this, really... you just have to be genuinely good at what you do and hope someone notices, because that’s the only way goldenhound32 is ever going to hear your name. But honestly, being talented is only half the battle. It’s actually much more critical to have a powerhouse production studio behind you—one that can actually land spots at the major festivals, help subsidize those mounting production costs, and provide the kind of heavy-duty technical support you actually need to get a project off the ground...
Every nation produces its own roster of legendary names, though some stay confined to their local borders while others truly manage to achieve global recognition. Honestly, I wouldn't have even known who Krst Papić was if you hadn't mentioned him... whereas everyone knows the work of Miloš Forman.

goldenhound32 said:if those three things are supposedly the magic formula for cinematic success, then why haven't we seen any world-class films coming out of Portugal over the last two decades?

It’s pretty obvious that being a truly great director isn't exactly easy... And honestly, most of those "high-quality" filmographies from smaller nations usually just rest on the shoulders of a couple of standout directors. Take Iran, for example—you really wouldn't call it Iran without Farhadi, even if there are other good things happening there too. It's the same story with how the world suddenly took an interest in Romania; it all centered around one guy—Cristi Puiuj.

Thanks. I suspect they only go after those bonus gigs if the files stay messy for an extended stretch. But obviously, just having the cloud installed on your PC is enough to count toward your activity levels.

I’ve been using this cloud service for several years now. I just set up a new account specifically for work purposes, and I noticed I was bumped up to 65 GB for free instead of the usual 50 GB.
Does anyone happen to know why this is happening? It would be incredibly helpful if I could somehow apply those extra gigabytes to my personal account too, since it's basically hitting its limit already.
If they’re handing out 65 GB for free now, I’d assume my older account should have seen an increase as well...
Or is this one of those gimmicks where they give you extra space just for installing the mobile app or the desktop client, only for it to expire after 30 days or something like that?
I remember there being some weird rule before where you'd technically have 50 GB, but you only really had 15 GB of usable space, and anything else would get wiped if nobody downloaded it within a month...

I tried searching online, but I can't find any clear answers.

I was just sitting here listening to this, and honestly, it’s hard to put into words without sounding like I’m overanalyzing, but there’s something about the way this unfolds that really hits... It’s one of those pieces where you can feel the weight of the production, almost like it’s pressing against you, much like how some of those old Steely Dan tracks used to feel back in the day, specifically when you’re diving deep into *Can't Buy a Thrill*... You know that feeling? Where everything is polished but there’s this underlying tension just waiting to snap... It reminds me a bit of the atmosphere you get from Coil—specifically that *Musick to Play in The dark* era—where the soundscape isn't just background noise, it's an environment you inhabit... It’s heavy, it’s deliberate, and it doesn't care if you're ready for it or not. There’s a certain grit here that makes me think of the more experimental side of rock music, the kind of stuff that doesn't aim for the charts but aims straight for your nervous system... Sometimes I wonder if people actually sit down and listen to these layers, or if they just let it wash over them like white noise... But for me, it’s in those subtle shifts, those moments where the rhythm feels slightly "off" in a way that feels intentional, almost like a controlled descent... It’s easy to get lost in it, to just drift away while the textures shift around you... anyway, I could go on about the sonic architecture of this for hours, but I suppose some things are better left felt rather than dissected too heavily...

It’s just an absolute joke, really... all this nonsense surrounding the NOB mythology that everyone insists on keeping quiet about.

Last week, huliti was featured in the poll, so there’s absolutely no reason for you to be running any kind of campaign...
