KERS remains a massive unknown and carries significant risk. In my experience, when teams opt to debut with KERS right at the start of a season, it often suggests they aren't entirely confident in their base car setup. They might be worried about falling behind the competition and are trying to use the hybrid boost to bridge that gap early on.☕

Maybe they ran through the simulations a dozen times and finally felt confident enough to just roll the dice and debut the whole system at the season opener...☕

I mean, if they’re actually sabotaging their own success, then they really are just ......... 😉🤣🤣

Raymond Ortiz89 said:Look, I’m glued to the news every single day, but honestly, I think Fio would have already called them non-regular if they were, so this whole thing feels like a total waste of breath to me.

Well, that's just not how they operate over there....☕I'm pretty sure Luc swung by his colleagues' office to "share some thoughts" on the situation, so now they're just sitting tight, waiting to see how fast the competition actually is before they make any final calls.😬

According to the team's engineering director, Pat Symonds, the General Motors R29 has enough raw pace to potentially contend for a win at the season-opening United States Grand Prix.

👋👋👋

Now Symonds is starting to sound just like Mario Theissen 👍

Kevin Long20 said:Everyone knew the diffuser drama was coming, but now the press is just dragging it out to manufacture some pre-race hype. It honestly feels pretty amateurish that even after all the consultations, the technical delegate visiting teams at testing in Barcelona, and submitting designs for approval to get the green light, they can still pull the rug out and say the diffusers aren't legal right before things kick off...

That’s exactly the point, though; the technical delegate is basically running a circus where they just dance to whatever Max wants, which really makes you wonder about the whole sense of credibility left in this sport...👎

Raymond Ortiz89 I can't really make sense of what you're trying to say here.
It’s all just theater at this point; they manipulate everything just to keep the season from getting boring. I’ve heard people complaining about that penalty against McLaren, but honestly, they had it coming—maybe even more than they got.☕

Good grief... here we go right back to square one. 🙄

Let’s just say this isn’t really the right spot or the right time for that kind of talk, nor is it even the right subject...☕

Besides, I honestly have no clue what you're even getting at here.🤷

It's a shame Ferrari wasn't there with them in Los Angeles to see how the lap times actually stack up.☕
raikkonen👍

Ford showed some massive progress during the pre-season tests compared to the absolute disaster they've had over the last four years... but I don't quite follow the logic—basically, why bother upgrading the car if there's always someone faster sitting right ahead of you?🤷

N/A

We’re actually dipping below the 1.18 mark today, 👍

which is a relief, especially since our lap times are holding up pretty well during those longer stints. ☕

👍

The immediate issue is sorted, but don't think for a second we're in the clear—there's still a mountain of work ahead, though given how fast this car is evolving... well, let's just say N/A. 🙏

mistybear87 said:Yeah, right, Ford clocked in 0.4 seconds faster than BGP one day, setting the fastest lap of the season in Los Angeles

Maybe there was just more rubber on the track or the weather warmed up a bit, but even so, seeing a 0.4-second gap feels like a glimmer of hope if you're a fan. 😁

1. Alexander Rossi Williams Ford 1:17.494 31
2. Lewis Hamilton McLaren N/A 1:18.471 +0.977 22

😲 He really did "fly" around that circuit...

Looking at how much progress they've actually made lately... I guess it's possible...☕

Desperate? Maybe. 🤷

Honestly, I feel like people are going to get banned just for mentioning the word "diffuser" at this point. 😁

But then again, 🙏 🙏 🙏 after all that grinding during testing...

It feels like they just fall back on that tired trope whenever they run out of actual substance to write about.

At the end of the day, I just want him to get back to his old self—whatever version of that actually exists, including all the quirks and the chaos. If he needs a drink to go out and win races again, who am I to judge? I’d probably just send him a crate of some high-end Kentucky bourbon to help the cause.

One 🙏 for that Kentucky bourbon....

Is it just me, or is it getting obvious that these guys are suffering from a chronic lack of, well... common sense?😬 🤣🤣🤣

Whether it ends up being a legal battle or just settled on the track, you can tell they're pretty much open to either outcome.

It’s always the same old story, isn't it? We won't actually see where the real power lies until we're three or four races deep, but for now, everything just looks like a total mess😂

mistybear87 said:it's just qualifying simulations, so it isn't actual race pace
especially since there aren't many cars dropping below a 1:19 right now (like the McLaren 😂😂😂)

Just to update you... it's 01:17.844... yeah, it’s a simulation, but man, is it a fast one. ☕

McLaren, give it a rest... everyone is getting faster by the second, so honestly, I'd be more worried about whether Williams ends up being total garbage again; if they lose Rosberg—and he already gave them an ultimatum—you're going to lose way more than five bucks at the local sportsbook. 🤣🤣
