mistybear87 said:fine, Nico Rosberg Williams FW31 just clocked a 1:18.071, which is easily the fastest anyone's seen in the last few days 🙏
I'm honestly starting to regret not putting down more than a five-spot on this one 😬

Yeah... they basically just ran a simulation of qualifying ☕

There’s really nothing else you can do, just listen to the race broadcasts and turn the TV off. 🤷

I’m half-tempted to risk a ban here, but seriously... what's the point? Are we all just losing our minds if we have to see the practice session results reposted every single time someone breathes?

Well, you know how this works... you aren't going to get a straight answer out of anyone on these boards, it's just the way it is. 🤣🤣 😉

stormybadger8 said:It would be pretty wild to see the look on the faces of the higher-ups at Mercedes if that former Honda crew actually starts consistently outrunning McLaren with their own engine under the hood.😬

But honestly, why should they care? They'll probably just end up fighting for the championship again and maybe make things interesting... I mean, Mercedes could just buy Brawn GP, slap on some silver and red paint, give the nose a new name, say hello to their drivers—who they already have anyway—and call it a day.🤣🤣

Just some future predictions from Arthur Doyle70 (figured I’d throw my two cents in too).😉

stormybadger8 said:To me all feels like one big, calculated setup; I’ve had a feeling about this for a long time now. Brawn built an absolute rocket of a car, and once he realized just how fast it was, he probably started whispering in the ears of the higher-ups at Honda, and those panicked managers—ever eager to save their own skins during a "crisis"—decided the easiest way to protect their jobs was to just pull the plug on the whole Formula 1 project. Brawn knew damn well there was almost zero chance anyone would show up with a suitcase full of cash to buy out the team, so he played the waiting game until the eleventh hour, and then, for a relatively small price, he walked away with his own team. Now, those same Honda executives are probably sitting around seething with rage because they missed out.☕

I can't shake the feeling that the whole birth of Brawn GP was nothing more than a masterfully executed scheme.☕

It makes sense... the old fox Brawn knew exactly what he was doing, it was all part of one big, carefully orchestrated game...☕
But man, I have to take my hat off to them for that raw speed... seriously, respect 🙏🙏 and I'll add that they had an incredibly, incredibly solid engine too.😁😉

I was driving past the grandstands last week and honestly, the atmosphere was wild—every time Lewis pulled into the pits or even just rolled toward the track, the locals would absolutely lose it, booing him and throwing up middle fingers like they were at some rowdy tailgate party back home.

It felt pretty much like that chaotic scene in Valencia last year.

What can you expect from such an unruly mob? 🤣🤣🤣😁

stormybadger8 said:I honestly don't even know what to make of all this, but either Brawn GP is pulling some serious strings to land sponsors, or they're just straight-up terrifyingly fast.🤷

It’s honestly hard to believe how quickly things have spiraled; at this rate, McLaren might actually end up being the backmarker team on the grid.😢
Sure, these are technically just testing sessions, but they feel fundamentally different from anything we've seen before since we're dealing with entirely new cars. Everyone’s out there in a massive pack during these runs, and honestly, I highly doubt anyone is playing games or sandbagging their pace like they used to. The days of endless testing are dead; everything has been scaled back so much that sessions are rare and mileage is kept to a minimum. You basically have to go all out and leave everything on the track right now, because once you're done, there's no going back for repairs or second chances.☕

I’ve got to hand it to Brawn GP—if they can actually carry this pace over into race weekends, they might just shock us. It’s pretty wild when you think about it; they basically took a car designed for a completely different engine, hacked it together, and now it’s flying through these testing sessions. They could definitely be a huge threat at the start of the season, though I have my doubts about whether they'll actually be able to hang with the heavy hitters in the long run. As for MCM, honestly, everything seems to be working against them right now, from the results to the remaining test time. If you look at the chatter on the international forums, the vibe is pretty much the same. I think I'll wait a little longer before I start reaching for the sedatives. 😁

But we all know who actually calls the shots when it comes to predicting this mess.😉 😬

We can keep playing these guessing games for a while longer
even though most of what you're saying is spot on. 😉 ☕

mistybear87 said:It’s true, and honestly, everyone can see McLaren is struggling right now. Even that new diffuser didn't do much to help, but I guess we'll have to wait and see how the rest of testing goes since they supposedly have some new parts ready to go.

BGP has been solid from the jump, probably just because they spent most of last season actually refining the car instead of playing catch-up.

Word is Williams ran with lighter fuel loads for the first time today, but those "upgrades" they brought to this test don't exactly look like they're making things any better.

uff... the foreign forums are absolutely blowing up right now, everyone getting worked up over testing data and leaked photos... it's all starting to feel like a prelude to something bigger.

Roger Williams3 said:yeah, it looks balanced.

Honestly, looking at this photo, I find it way more cohesive than something from Toyota or Red Bull, with those flimsy noses that look like they’re about to snap off at any given moment.

Exactly... it's all just photography tricks—tweak the angle here, mess with the exposure there... and suddenly everything looks perfectly balanced, especially if you throw a little Photoshop into the mix to hide the flaws.😉 🤣🤣

And how can you be so sure? I'm expecting to see him out on the track pretty soon during testing while he's driving for Force India 😬

There you have it 👍, we finally found the reason (along with a perfectly valid excuse)......

stormybadger8 said:👍everyone seems to forget that Renault bumped up the engine power by 25 hp, so it’s definitely not just some junk bucket anymore, which means RB really capitalized on that upgrade; you guys should probably chill out and actually look at the results from the second half of the season to see which two drivers were actually killing it.

Alonso and Vettel clearly showed they can handle a lot, and honestly, imagine what they could do with an extra 25 hp under the hood.☕

For Vettel, the gap isn't even that huge, but the car itself feels noticeably better than the STR, and besides, a picture is worth a thousand words.

Kinda hard to ignore when you've got a whole crowd of mechanics standing on the sidelines, buzzing around and trying to spy on your setup to steal some solutions; once you see that, everything makes sense.😁

P.S. I've gotta hand it to Starks, I really don't feel like sitting here explaining all the technical advantages Renault has over the rest of the field.😬
Where have you been hiding?

Come on, show some maturity, you're getting up there in years.😉 If you keep getting this worked up over every little thing, who knows how much sense you'll be making...😁
Look at our colleague Starks, who's probably still recovering from the shock of that +25 hp boost somewhere.😂😂
Anyway, cheers to Starks.👍

Sure, Adrian Newey is legitimately good.👍

stormybadger8 said:You seem to be forgetting that the old days with Ron Dennis are long gone😉 who knows, maybe Lewis Hamilton will find himself behind the wheel of a Force India or something similar soon enough😉

If he keeps up this attitude—acting like he's smarter than everyone else, shoving his way through the field and ramming into other cars—I don't see him staying at Mercedes-Benz much longer.🤷

Besides, Lewis loves his PlayStation, and anything can happen in a video game.😬

Well, good morning... I see someone is already posting early on a Friday or Saturday, probably under some kind of influence.🤣🤣 😉

I wouldn't know how to answer you🤷, but it’s pretty safe to say he won't be jumping into a Force India anytime soon...

There's an old saying that not everyone shows their true colors right away...☕

And honestly, looking at these lap times, it’s all just one big, messy overlap anyway.😁
