lonebison19 said:Man, we’re all just sitting here waiting for our guy to finally show up, aren't we?
Roger Williams3 said:I'm pretty sure the driver can't see a damn thing while he's sitting in the pits, so I figure it’s actually on the guy holding the lollipop to make sure there isn't a massive pileup happening.
here is why I think that's the case
p.s. if you look at both photos, you can see where the guy with the lollipop is standing, and honestly, he has a much better view of the pit lane than the driver, who is basically blindfolded by a wall of mechanics surrounding the car.😉
The driver should probably just pull up to that pit lane line and do a quick check—check the mirrors, watch the blind spots... then maybe he can head out. 😬
stormybadger8 said:"Once I cleared the pits after seeing the green light on our signal system, it didn't feel weird or off in the slightest, and I definitely didn't get the feeling I was dragging something along with me," he admitted, "Then Rob [Smedley], my engineer, hopped on the radio and told me to kill it because the fuel line was still hooked up to the car. That's when I finally glanced in the mirror and saw it but, obviously, the damage was already done."
Massina's account 🤣😂

rustystag7 said:Look, you might be exaggerating a bit, but there's probably some truth somewhere in the middle...
I mean, if you’d told me this at the start of the season, I probably would have bought it, but the reality on the ground is that he's driving well; whether you call him a workhorse or not, he’s winning, and that’s the whole point of the fight.🤷
People are just being unrealistic—like, Massa puts down a string of fastest laps and nobody bats an eye, but when Kimi does it, suddenly it’s the end of the world, the surprise of the year...
I get that Massa has his quirks, and I'm not denying that, but he has his strengths too, and honestly, fans these days are just spoiled; one minute you overtake Lewis Hamilton and suddenly you're a god, then the next you can't pass anyone and win, and suddenly everything is a disaster again...
I think we understand each other—regarding Kimi, I always thought he was pure class, but damn, he has the car, he has everything, yet he just isn't doing anything...
Unlike the others, I don't think he's a criminal; I just think Massa is getting under his skin, whether he's being a workhorse or not, I couldn't tell you, but generally speaking, he's the fastest guy on track this season.🤷
So look at it without any bias: there are maybe three or four people who could actually take the title. You've got Massa, who drives like a machine, makes zero mistakes on track, and wins whenever he gets the chance, even though he's dealing with a mountain of pit errors and tactical chaos behind him.
Then there's Hamilton, a great driver, aggressive in a good way, but that aggression leads to mistakes and he gets cranky; he wins, sure, but you have to factor in that he hasn't had major engine failures, whereas Ferrari's tactics have been a mess for him...
As for Kimi, everything he's done for Ferrari has been catastrophic driving, for reasons I can't quite wrap my head around...
And Kubica has the talent and a decent car, but that's about it; his time will come, but he's shown he can't handle the pressure just yet, because after starting strong at the beginning of the season, he started losing ground to the teams from McLaren and Ferrari...
So you pick your champion when people ask where Formula 1 is headed, because honestly, none of these drivers are complete...
Personally, I need Alonso, but he's stuck in a Renault that can't compete, and he's the one to blame since he chose it himself.
rustystag7 said:Look, generally speaking, my issue is that I’ve never had much patience for conspiracy theories. I said the same thing last season when we were going at it, and back then I was truly unbiased because, honestly, I couldn't care less who takes the title...
Now I actually do care because I want to see Massa take it, but the bottom line for me is that I want it done fairly...
The FIA leans toward Ferrari—that was true then and it’ll be true later—but not to the point where the championship loses its integrity.🤷
Lewis deserved that penalty at Spa. He didn't just clip the chicane; he cut it halfway through a wheel, unlike how Alonso handled that overtake on Nick Heidfeld in Montreal back in '07. This was just aggressive and dirty...
You guys are nitpicking every single little thing regarding whether the rules are being applied perfectly, and fine, but I’m not that kind of guy, regardless of the fact that I root for Ferrari...
I’ll say it again: I don't buy into these conspiracies. Every single example mentioned here turns into some grand theory about theft, as if the officials decided the whole season over a measly four points.🤷
As for Massa, he’s been the winner on track in all their head-to-head battles, but clearly, nobody cares about that...
Massa is trailing behind right now, but if things stay predictable in these next three races, I see him walking away with it...
Because he’s shown absolute dominance over the last few rounds, and apparently, that doesn't sit well with you lot just because he's in a fast car...
So, what exactly do you think needs to happen for a guy to actually win a championship?
Because apparently, it's wrong if he cuts Hamilton, and it's also wrong if they don't penalize him for some random reason...
stormybadger8 said:It’s only fair that Lewis Hamilton had his win stripped for cutting the chicane🙄 just like how it was perfectly fair when Massa was shoving Robert Kubica around for an entire lap and cut through every single chicane on the track, and back then it was also totally fine that there were no penalties ☕
It's just as fair that Kimi didn't get penalized after he slammed into Adrian Sutil—who was having the race of his life and sitting in 4th place, which would have netted him a mountain of cash and maybe a better deal in Formula 1, while his team is drowning in debt—so yeah, it's just as "fair" that there was no penalty🙄 but it's equally fair that Lewis Hamilton got penalized because he bumped Kimi in the pits; I mean, if we're being fair to the bitter end, let's just go ahead and penalize Nico Rosberg too☕
It's fair that Massa didn't get any penalty at all when he spun out in front of Sutil in the pits (the first time), and it's just as fair that Massa got hit with a pit stop + 10 sec for spinning in front of Sutil (the second time), for wasting fuel in the pit lane, and for endangering a whole crowd of drivers and mechanics—that's all perfectly fair🙄 likewise, it's fair that Nick Heidfeld got a three-place grid penalty, because he was just pulling into the pits normally, but then Rubens Barrichello happened to end up behind him, so Nick is clearly to blame and definitely deserves the penalty since he made such a clumsy entrance into the pits🙄
Of course, the overall reckless move by Robert Kubica and Nico Rosberg entering the pits under the SC is way worse than that tragicomic mess from Massin and Ferrari, and that absolutely deserved a pit stop + 10 sec penalty 🙄
But hey, as long as everything is fair
I'm rooting for the Street crew☕ and I'm watching all this objectively from the sidelines, and honestly, it hurts my soul wondering who's going to take the championship, but I already said it once: the FIA should just hand the Constructors' title to Ferrari at the start of the season along with the Drivers' trophy, and then let Ferrari take a week to think about it and decide which of their drivers they want to win it this year, and then they can stop screwing around so the rest of the season can actually be driven normally while people fight for second place

I get why they handed out the penalty, but honestly, who decided three grid spots was the move here? It feels like such nonsense—why can't they just stick to a standard five or ten-place penalty and be done with it?🤷 I guess we’re back to them playing judge and jury again, deciding who gets what penalty now. Finished second, fourth, seventh, ninth, and twelfth. Just another day at the office, I guess. Whatever works for them, I guess.😕 And besides that, I honestly don't get why they're handing out a penalty to Rubens Barrichello; if anything, he's the one who got screwed over in that whole mess. 😵 And then they go and hand him a penalty on top of everything else. Honestly, what was he even supposed to do, just ram into Nick Heidfeld just to make sure the stewards felt satisfied with their day?🙄
