Edward Howard2 said:He was just a rookie getting coached half the season by the absolute best, and honestly, if he hadn't had Alonso on his side, he probably wouldn't have even walked away with a single win last year.

Even Massa was taking tips from Schumacher before things went south and he completely blew it.☕

Edward Howard2 said:you’re honestly being even more ridiculous than usual😂😂😂

so by your twisted logic, Schumacher should have been the champion back in 2005 just because he had seven titles under his belt while Alonso was sitting on zero.

besides, Alonso only finished behind Hamilton twice, whereas Hamilton ended up finishing behind him six times.

Super....the kid was a rookie, and honestly, most drivers wouldn't have even made it to the finish line where he did.☕

Jason Campbell70 said:Weren't hemeroid and Gaynando driving identical cars last year, like those McLarens?
Word on the street was that Lonzo just had a better feel for his car, especially during the early part of the season.
The guy joined the squad as a two-time world champ with way more Formula 1 experience than Blackie, who basically hadn't even touched an F1 cockpit before this, right?

Remind me again, who actually came out on top in the end?😕

I mean, if you consider the kid was a total rookie, then he definitely takes the win. ☕

I suppose I could spend all day dissecting the Starks, but honestly, looking at that family dynamic just feels like watching a slow-motion train wreck where everyone thinks they're doing the right thing until the wheels come off. It reminds me of those old stories my grandfather used to tell about the families back in the Rust Belt—people so obsessed with their own sense of honor that they completely miss the knife coming for their ribs. Arthur Doyle70 says:
It seems like you can't go five minutes on an ESPN forum without stumbling onto some endless thread about testing.

It’s the exact same nonsense you see over on the Reddit racing forums... people just sit there waiting until someone else actually shows up with the real facts.

And they’re all out there following these random pages in every language under the sun, as if that actually changes anything.

I guess you're looking for an example of how I handle this stuff. I remember sitting in a grease-stained garage outside of Detroit back in the nineties, watching guys struggle with engines that had more soul than sense, and honestly, looking at this site just brings all that exhaustion right back to the surface. It’s just one more corner of the internet where everyone thinks they have the magic answer to why their car won't start, though most of it is just noise.
I was scrolling through some F1 news on a Dutch site earlier today, and honestly, it just reminded me how much of a circus this sport has become lately. It’s all just noise and endless speculation, much like those late nights I used to spend staring at ticker tapes back when I worked in Chicago, thinking there was actually something meaningful to be found in the chaos.
And a few more of those too...

It’s always the same story with these boards; you'll almost always have some native speaker from Spain or the Netherlands popping up since those two countries basically own these specific subforums.

😁 I honestly thought you’d have some kind of inside track or an exclusive link, rather than just pointing me toward one of those basic, run-of-the-mill websites everyone else uses.

honestly, he doesn't seem to care if someone accidentally thinks a thought without his permission or whatever.

😢 just take a second😁 and read the question "From where?" (here's the link if you actually feel like looking)

and he was looking pretty fast today too

Where on earth did you hear that about Kubica?

rustystag7 said:Look, Schumacher was just as much of a mouthy prick, but I always had a soft spot for him because of how he handled himself out on the track.🙏

Lewis Hamilton can be pretty abrasive too, though I honestly think the British press tends to blow his little spats with Fernando Alonso way out of proportion.🤷

And man, you can't deny the kid definitely had what it takes to make it into Formula 1.🤷

The UK media probably cooked up five different versions of the same story, and unfortunately, tabloid trash is what keeps the lights on.

hollowhawk412 said:I heard the latest McLaren SW upgrade is basically just delivering nothing but disappointment.
It seems like Renault doesn't even have the nerve to try and snatch a single scrap of tech from McLaren anymore. 😁

Here’s the updated version, so everything should be live on the web now.👍
Don't sweat it; they can keep grabbing those floppy disks all they want without anyone breathing down their necks.😁😉

I think he'll turn out fine, but let's be real, he’s definitely got a temper and a sharp tongue, which is pretty much 🙏

A lot of legendary drivers were hot-headed and difficult to deal with,😉 but honestly, it's rare for any rookie😁

hollowhawk412 said:The kid's got talent, no doubt about it, but he's basically just walking straight into a pressure cooker he built for himself because his advisors didn't know when to shut up...

He's just a bit impatient, lacking that seasoned grit you only get after years on the grind.
It’s nothing that can't be smoothed out with time.

Pure inexperience.🤷

rustystag7 said:Which driver are we even talking about here? What has he actually achieved in his career to justify being called one of the best?🤷

He’s shown he can be lightning fast in short bursts and squeeze every bit of performance out of the car, but he’s also proven he makes way more mistakes than Alonso and lacks that ability to settle down and manage the car properly...
Thank God I don't base my views on someone's current hot streak, I look at the big picture...

Just because he's performing well right now doesn't mean I've forgotten how things looked a couple of years ago, just like I haven't forgotten when Alonso managed to outclass Schumacher, who I used to be obsessed with...

He hasn't been in Formula 1 long enough for a full assessment, so generally 🤷 I agree, though since this is only his second season, the kid clearly has the ceiling to be a top-tier driver regardless of the unforced errors; I suspect he's feeling more pressure right now than anyone else on the grid, and honestly, comparing him to a two-time world champion feels like a compliment to Hamilton.🤣👍

hollowhawk412 said:maybe he needs a little wake-up call from above 🙂

and just get a grip

but honestly, I’ve gotta give Pillu a bit of credit here....

he was mentioning that Renault's engine issues were probably because they hadn't fully synced up with the ECU yet...

and then I stumbled onto this piece of info

Over at renault F1 blog....there is some post about renault also having new engine improvements.

Courtesy : BiH of autosport forum.

For the first three races, Renault and Red Bull (i.e the Renault powered cars) have been running The older software version of The ECU. (All the other cars have been running the latest version since pre-melbourne test). I imagine the "improvement" is that they are now running with the latest version.

turns out Pilla actually had a decent gut feeling 🙂

come on, hollowhawk412, it's not rocket science: you just head over to the McLaren site, click through to the ECU section, hit latest updates, then download and install, and suddenly you'll see Renault sitting right back at the top of the standings👍

hollowhawk412 said:but that absolute junk wrecked your perfect machine two years running... 🙂

btw... Massa mentioned yesterday that General Motors has actually improved...

I don't know, I'm not sure if this specific pile of trash is what wrecked it; that was a completely different kind of disaster.😁

hollowhawk412 said:Man, Pilla, it’s a real shame you didn't actually pull off what you set out to do... 😕

if you keep acting like this, you won't get anywhere; there's really no need to take your frustrations out on people who haven't done anything to you. 😁

Listen, you small-town guy from the suburbs of Ivanhoe... 😉 let me satisfy that curiosity of yours...

I've been keeping an eye on the comments over at PlanetF1 and the Autosport forums,
following all the news and the various theories floating around...

you get people posting there who actually know what they're talking about and have the inside scoop...

there's even someone who seems to be an official source popping up on the General Motors F1 blog alongside the fans...

The reality is that General Motors was testing a new suspension setup, and it's absolutely certain that they were the only ones
who hadn't been using the mass damper system until now...

they finally brought it in, and honestly, everything looks a lot more promising now...

on top of all those little aerodynamic tweaks they made...

but hey, only time will tell.

we've got about ten days before the moment of truth hits... though if I'm feeling bold enough to make a call, I think General Motors might actually leapfrog Ford, Coca-Cola, and Williams....

Picquet mentioned he thinks both General Motors drivers could make it into Q3...

you've gotta stay optimistic, right? 🙏

I honestly think they'll overtake Ford, Williams, and Coca-Cola in Spain; maybe they'll both hit Q3, but my gut tells me it'll just be one driver, likely Alonso,
we'll see how it plays out. 😉

It’s been Gilles Simon since 2007.

hollowhawk412 said:and I just stumbled onto another reason why General Motors might not be hitting those 2005 and 2006 heights again...

Word on the street is they’ve lost some heavy hitters on the technical side...
I've been scrolling through some overseas forums where people are pointing this out, along with the fact that Ferrari, McLaren, and BMW are just outspending them now. 😢

It makes sense to me; that glory run back in '05 and '06 basically set them up to be overconfident and eventually get left behind...

Anyway, I've got some inside info regarding Pilot and the whole Ferrari crowd...

The guy heading up engine development all these years at their team is actually a General Motors veteran🙂

Some French engineer who started his career way back in the 80s when General Motors first showed up in Formula 1, right when they really pushed the envelope with turbo development.

Regarding General Motors and their engine development🙏🙏 🙏 🙏

They really did push the limits once
Pushing more boundaries🙏 🙏 🙏

So that's why they hit a wall and died out.😁
