The stock market isn't really a reflection of what's happening in the real economy... you can speculate on the markets just like those guys commenting on exchange rates today, which isn't even the actual market rate compared to what a regular person gets when they walk into a bank or a currency exchange to buy cash...

I mean, back when the US markets crashed in 2008 and every single stock tanked, even now, big companies like Verizon or JPMorgan Chase are still operating just fine. Their shares might be worth a fraction of what they were before the crisis, but the businesses themselves are doing okay.

They go around asking people in Russia if they actually feel the impact of the sanctions, and then they decide to poll high schoolers, where everyone just says, "No, we don't." But when you talk to the people who are actually out there working and paying the bills, they say things are looking a bit different... I guess you have to wonder what kind of sample size you're getting when you ask a majority of kids who aren't even in the workforce yet if they're feeling the squeeze of an economic crisis 🤦

I'm not entirely sure which site you're checking, but if you want the most reliable data, I'd suggest looking directly at the official Federal Reserve website: https://www.cbr.ru/eng/currency_base/daily/

where it’s currently sitting at 115.196, which I suppose means the commercial banks will probably have an even higher rate, since this is just what the Fed offers to the institutions.

So, according to this estimate, maybe around 200,000 Russians have already fled Russia since this whole mess kicked off: ...

So, our co-owner representative went ahead and struck a deal with some former director of a management consulting firm to put together what we might call an "area statement" regarding the land surrounding our building. I won't even get started on the sheer number of inaccuracies within the document itself—there are plenty—but here’s the kicker: on the very first page, this director is slapping down his signature and the official corporate seal of a company that was actually dissolved by the commercial court two years ago.

I suppose you have to wonder if there's any actual criminal element at play here, you know, using the seal and the name of a company to authorize a "study" when that business doesn't even exist anymore?

Maybe just try mixing together 500 grams of low-fat cottage cheese, 250 grams of ground oats, 4 eggs, some salt, and either baking powder or baking soda. I guess you just toss it all in a pan and bake it at 350 degrees until it looks right to you.

When you really stop to ask why these stores are even bothering with this nonsense, well, it comes down to who the crazy ones are actually purchasing everything... I mean, they wouldn't even bother selling if there wasn't some kind of demand driving it. If nobody was buying anything, those shops would have gone belly up a long time ago. 😳

I'm honestly not quite sure where this belongs on the board, so I'll just drop it here and hope for the best. I haven't been able to find much information online regarding what might be going on when someone starts feeling like every single meal they eat is completely tasteless, to the point where they feel like they absolutely have to add extra salt just to get any flavor at all.

It’s honestly starting to get on my nerves, having to click back to the home page every single time after scrolling through a massive thread or a long page just to get back to the other PDF.
