Noah Thompson said:Hey,

The package I sent out to a customer wasn't picked up, so now it's being shipped back to me. Do I actually have to pay USPS for the return shipping, or is that usually free?

Thanks

You definitely do.😉
amberwolf36 said:Hey guys, does anyone know what I should probably pay for shipping on a medium-sized bag? Also, any advice on what kind of packaging I should use?
Thanks 🙂

How much does it weigh, though?

I mean, you can just run the numbers on the USPS website www.usps.com
Kimberly Brown43 said:But the delivery actually showed up $50... I mean, how much is hardly anything?

And honestly, there's a good chance the item itself weighs a ton too.🤷
Kimberly Brown43 said:My package—this big yellow envelope thing—just showed up. 🙂 They didn't even give me a heads-up call first.
Now the damn thing won't even fit in my car because it's wrapped up in this massive sheet of plastic, so I was wondering,
is there any way I can request a redelivery? And if so, am I gonna get hit with an extra fee or what?

Just give them a call and ask.☕ They should be able to swing a redelivery, and honestly, I don't know about the cost, but it probably won't be a huge deal.
Sarah Bishop86 said:I'm actually pretty curious about this too,😉
really looking for some help from you guys here.

FedEx Express!
Elizabeth Brown90 said:I sent off a certified package from Washington, D.C. to Chicago about a week ago and it still hasn't shown up....is it possible it's just delayed because of the holidays? I'd be seriously devastated if it actually got lost somewhere.😢

When did you drop it off?
Sarah Moore5 said:Hey everyone, I'm looking to ship a slightly larger package—around 4 or 5 pounds—and I have a couple of questions:

1. Does the package need to be wrapped in one of those yellow mailers or white paper envelopes, or can I just grab any old box and stick a label on it without sealing everything else up?

2. I want to send this COD (cash on delivery), so what kind of paperwork should I ask for at the Post Office to make sure that works?

Honestly, you can wrap it in whatever you want, I guess.😉
Just tell them you're doing a business shipment and they'll hand you all the forms you need.😁
loneangler91 said:What’s actually the smartest way to ship a t-shirt, or like, a hoodie?

I mean, you could just wrap it up yourself, toss it in a box, or honestly, just grab one of those USPS boxes when you get to the post office...
Jessica Jones3 said:I need to ship some small packages, nothing heavier than 1kg. Which shipping option would be the cheapest way to go...?

http://www.usps.com/shipping/rates.page

just check this link out and see what works best for you🙂

maybe try priority mail $6.25
or just a standard package $6.75
loneangler91 said:I could really use some help here 🙂
this is my first time ever trying to ship a package, and it's just a pair of sneakers. what's the best way to handle this and get the cheapest rate possible?
is it okay if I just put them in the original shoe box, tape it up tight with some packing tape so it doesn't pop open, and then stick a label with the recipient's info on the outside?
or am I strictly required to use some specific HP shipping box?

thanks in advance 🙂

Just tape it up and send it off😁
Adam Barrett said:I mean, looking at the big picture, obviously there are wonderful, honest people everywhere, but I just get this feeling when I see politicians over in other countries resigning just because they had an affair or something... whereas here in America, you can't even get them to step down for much more serious stuff.

I'm just saying, that's what the sender told me.

Well, if our politicians don't have mistresses😂
Adam Barrett said:They’re definitely more honest, because back when my mom lived in the country where my money actually came from, it was totally normal for her to come home from work and just grab the milk, the newspaper, and groceries that delivery guys left right at her doorstep. I mean, how long would stuff like that even last here? 🙄 Or just run a little experiment: try sending $100, or heaven forbid $333 just use registered mail, and see if it even shows up. When you send something via regular mail, it's basically a miracle if it arrives. I've been buying and selling stuff on these forums for ages, so I know exactly how many girls lose packages or end up getting envelopes and parcels—even the registered ones within the US —opened up and looted. It always turns into a massive headache when you use regular mail because things just vanish, which is why I never, ever ship that way.
Sure, occasionally a mail carrier might mess something up or a mistake happens, but when you get an envelope that looks like it went through a blender, or only half of what you sent actually arrives, then you know for a fact someone had their hands in it.

The thing is, the guy sealed everything up exactly like he was supposed to. He used that orange return receipt that I signed, and he's standing there insisting it’s absolutely impossible for this to happen, and honestly, I’m inclined to believe him. I really hope there's some way to prove that only part of the shipment arrived based on the weight. Since he kept the cardboard packaging, maybe they can start a formal investigation.

Regarding those high-value letters from abroad, I’ve heard that people overseas don't really prefer sending cash in plain envelopes. Do you know anything about that?

Trust me, they aren't any more honest than we are...
Look, nobody prefers sending cash in envelopes, not here and not anywhere else in the world...
Adam Barrett said:The sender claims there's no way it was stolen at their international office because they know their own protocols inside out. And about that other point... yeah, true, which is why I'm stuck right now. I didn't send this myself—I always make sure high-value stuff is sent securely—but clearly, it got swiped somewhere on its way to me. The envelope looks like it's been ripped apart and some details that were definitely there before are missing, yet the label still says it's intact. Honestly, whoever grabbed it is a total thief. Just because someone used a risky shipping method doesn't justify someone else's blatant theft; I'm not about to let them shift the blame onto the sender just to cover their tracks.

hmmm, why are you underestimating and basically insulting your own people here?🙂

why wouldn't money get stolen in a foreign country??? You really think they're more honest than us?😠 Like I told you already, that envelope probably passed through a hundred different hands, which means there are a hundred different people who could have pocketed the cash, not just our local workers...😕
Adam Barrett said:So, I found out just two days ago that some absolute lowlife swiped $200 from me at the post office, and now there’s zero way to track down the cash 😠 😠 Honestly, it’s pathetic how people have no shame; I bet they steal stuff like this from someone who actually needs it for life-saving meds or something 😠 If they think they're such tough guys, maybe they should try robbing a billionaire instead.

Disgusting. 👎 😠

Why on earth do you assume the money was stolen right here at our local post office???
Where was the money even sent from?? If it was coming from abroad, that cash would've passed through a dozen different hands and gone through customs... plus, you don't just send money in a regular envelope; you'd send it as a registered item which costs a little extra...
electrictiger48 said:And what about sending it via standard mail? How much would that even cost?

I mean, you could always just wire him the cash upfront so you can send it via certified mail to be safe, $3.25 or maybe just stick to regular snail mail which takes like 3-$1.75...
electrictiger48 said:heh, I get where you're coming from, but I don't actually know the guy personally, so I'd probably just do it this way once the shipping is paid up. So, what's your advice then?

Well, then you just pay when you pick it up, and the shipping ends up being about $8.75😉
electrictiger48 said:So, I need to buy a phone case from a seller in a small town outside of Chicago and have it sent to me in New York. I found one on eBay for $6.75, so now I'm wondering what the cheapest shipping method would be. Can I just put it in one of those bubble mailers and send it as regular mail? It’s just a thin plastic outer shell for a phone, so it’s not heavy at all.

Yeah, you totally can. Honestly, the cheapest way is probably just to Zelle or Venmo the seller directly so they can just drop it in the mail via USPS Certified Mail for about $3.25... though, I guess that really depends on whether you actually trust the person you're buying from...
Nicole Ramos38 said:The package hasn't been returned to me yet. I sent her an email, but she’s just ghosting me.

I mean, honestly? She probably totally screwed you over and just doesn't want to deal with the package... which means it'll likely end up being sent back to you in a few days, and then you're stuck paying the shipping all over again... damn. It sucks, but people can be real pieces of work sometimes... though, I guess maybe that's not it and she'll just actually show up to pick it up today or tomorrow...
Nicole Ramos38 said:I sent off a package last Monday via HP Express, but I still haven't seen the money hit my account.😕
To make matters worse, I can't even find the confirmation receipt.
What should I do?

Are you even sure they actually scanned it in???
Melissa Mendoza4 said:Hey there!
How can I receive a certified package or one where I pay cash on delivery if I'm staying at a rental address as a subtenant?
Can I set it up like this:
*my full name*
(Apt XYZ)
street address, house number
etc...

Thanks!

Or maybe you could just write it like this, for example:

"your full name"
c/o "the landlord's last name"
