The start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine (Part 1) in War in Ukraine ·
Betty Carter3 said:Yeah, right—more like seven hundred thousand.

Just saw this on a news site—I'm just passing it along here...
The number is definitely sitting somewhere around 1,000, and honestly, that’s still a massive amount.

The Ukrainians are claiming they've taken out more than 3,500 Russian soldiers so far.

It’s honestly wild watching this—all I see is Ukrainians absolutely wrecking the Russians. They're taking down planes, swatting helicopters out of the sky, and picking off soldiers left and right... but when it comes to the other side? Nothing. Zero. Just total silence on that front.

Then again, you’ve got Zelenskyy over there calling for negotiations—just throwing it all out on the table.

Wait, if things are going so well for them, then why even bother? Seriously, what's the catch?

Man, the sheer amount of fake news flooding Twitter over the last 24 hours is just absolutely insane—it’s like everyone decided to turn into a conspiracy theorist overnight.
So, I was just scrolling through the news, and man, it’s grim—apparently, the Russians have started using scorched-earth tactics over in Kyiv, and the civilian casualty count is looking absolutely devastating. Just heavy stuff.

So, I saw this one "expert journalist" hanging around the forum earlier—you know the type—who was actually posting this morning claiming that Zelenskyy had already bolted out of Ukraine and that the Russians were practically knocking on the doors of the presidential palace. Total nonsense, obviously.

If this turns out to be some kind of hacker attack... yeah, we're in for a bad time.

It’s not exactly a huge victory, I guess—but as of today, I feel pretty justified calling them straight-up criminals.
Thoughts on Spencer (2021)? in Movies ·
Kristen Stewart is basically a lock for an Oscar with this role.
Man, I seriously cannot wait to catch this movie.
Republican Party - General Discussion in Political Scene ·
Man, thank God they didn't decide to go and dump all that chemical crap on us too.
I mean, obviously—it’s not like anyone’s actually going to be held accountable for this mess anyway.

So, they just dropped the trailer like two days ago...

Do you guys think Kristen Stewart can actually pull this off?

I just watched this clip and—man—it really gets you thinking about how much weight a single performance can carry. It’s wild, honestly. You see that specific tension on screen, and it’s almost like you can feel the air getting thinner in the room. Anyway, I was scrolling through some old discussions and saw what Mark Robinson was saying about this earlier, and yeah, I think he’s onto something. There’s a certain raw, unpolished energy here that you just don't see in those big, overproduced Hollywood blockbusters where everything feels too clean. This feels... real. A bit messy, maybe, but that's why it works. It’s got that grit. It reminds me of those indie flicks that hit you right in the gut before you even realize you're crying. You know the ones? Where the dialogue isn't trying too hard to be "smart," but because it’s so blunt, it actually hits harder. Like, if you look at how they handled the pacing—it’s deliberate. Almost uncomfortable. But hey, if you're looking for a relaxing Sunday afternoon movie, this definitely isn't it. Grab some coffee, settle in, and prepare to feel things. Just my two cents!

Do you guys honestly think Kristen Stewart can pull this off? I mean, I don't know—it’s a massive ask, right?[/I]

I’m calling it now—she’s definitely getting an Oscar nomination.

That guy... They just don't. Man, that ending... gave me actual chills.

Honestly, this flick is just perfect if you want to turn your brain off for two hours and just vibe.
I can't tell if it’s based on some existing IP or if they just cooked up something totally new, but hey—I’m digging it.

The only thing that really missed the mark for me was how they tried to drag Germans into the whole plot.

If I’m reading this right—and I usually am, though sometimes I miss the obvious—it sounds like he’s trying to convert those millimeter dimensions straight into San Francisco pixels.

So, yeah... go ahead and crunch the numbers, but don't forget you've gotta factor in the DPI if you actually want the print job to look decent.

Now they're actually doing it again.

Later.

Not true—it works all the time.
It worked back in July when I caught COVID, and it worked in December when I was flagged as a contact.

I got the email and the notice about my mandatory quarantine on the exact same day.

mellowskipper said:That’s actually why I decided against traveling to the States—instead, I just took five days of PTO and stayed put at home for a couple of weeks. It was honestly nice being home, and the best part—I guess you could say—was that I didn't end up passing anything on to my husband or my kid... plus, I wasn't completely cut off from them either.

Sent from my PRA-LX1 using Reddit

Look, once the health department calls you and someone who tested positive for COVID flags you as a contact, there’s no "yes I will" or "no I won't" negotiation. They just mandate your quarantine and that's that. Period.

I haven't felt anything yet 🙂
But I've got a massive bill hitting my bank account on March 1st.

swiftjackal91 said:When you sent yours, I had already submitted mine on January 7th—and they told me that anything processed by the 7th gets paid out by the 20th. Anything after that doesn't hit until the end of the month. Honestly, if you're looking for a payout before February 20th, you might be dreaming—total idiots.

I sent mine off on January 12th, but honestly? Nothing but that annoying automated bot response so far.

swiftjackal91 said:It’s basically sick leave—your employer pays you a reduced salary, and then Medicare covers the difference if you were stuck in quarantine. For instance, I haven't seen my payment for December yet, which is just great since we're talking about $567

I’m in the exact same boat, still waiting on my December stuff (even though I dealt with COVID back in July—lol, so much for all that talk about reinfections and other nonsense).

I sent everything over except for the final pay stub because the site says they can just pull those details directly through the Social Security Administration, but my application is still sitting there marked as "in processing."

Is there even any point in trying to file a second request? The fine print explicitly says you're only supposed to submit it once.

That local politician Ćorić has clearly learned everything he knows from his mentor, Andrej Plenković.
It’s all just insults, cheap shots, and talking down to the opposition.

Honestly? It's absolute bottom-of-the-barrel behavior.

Thanks in advance, I suppose.

you just gotta drop the (image) code here

Just make sure you're grabbing the direct link—and for heaven's sake, watch those dimensions so it doesn't end up massive!

nimbleranger17 said:Josipa Rimac is nothing more than a political byproduct of Vance Brkić's maneuvering.

First it was a message sent to Karić last week, and now this week it’s Brkić's turn?

I can't help but wonder, who else is going to find themselves on the receiving end of one of these little messages in the coming weeks?

Maybe Smith.

I wouldn't bet on Stier, though—he just went through his own little personal meltdown recently.

We can all agree these aren't just coincidences—they're blatant political messages and threats meant to scare off anyone thinking about actually running in the elections.
