Pregnancy and Chlamydia in Women's Health ·
Susan Diaz91 said:Look, if you had the virus, then you had it. It's over.

What kind of consequences for the baby are we even talking about here? You aren't sick anymore and you aren't pregnant...

I don't get it.

Chlamydia is a bacterium.
Don't get vaccinated. It's no joke. in Women's Health ·
Grace Diaz76 said:now explain to the clueless how HPV is linked to autism

How do you not know that?😲
Autism is just an advanced stage of an HPV viral infection which, if you don't treat it in time, can even lead to Alzheimer's.

Anonymous said:Sublime doesn't have an official US translation yet for one simple reason: it was never meant for theaters, so it hasn't landed on the desks of those Hollywood localization types who love coming up with weird titles for stuff that's hard to translate 😬

Something like "Fright Night" turning into "My Neighbor is a Vampire" pretty much proves my point from earlier 🙂

Once it hits Blu-ray, we'll get to see the "creativity" of US distributors. They'll definitely slap some generic, literal title on it like "Dangerous Dreams" or "Horror Hospital" 😁

Anyway, the movie is killer! 🙏

3.

You seen it? It's awesome..

Forget the linguistics talk and just give me your take. What'd you think of the flick?
I'm dying to hear about that scene where the orderly (basically his worst nightmare) jumps on the bed and gives that big speech about how fear has shaped humanity throughout history.
Who knew "nightmare" was originally the name of some demon? Or maybe I'm just tripping..😕

Come on guys, anyone else watched this? If not, go watch it now.

I need a breakdown of that speech!!

The whole point of the movie is basically that if you spend your entire life living in fear, then the only way your existence actually makes sense is if that fear finally becomes reality... Or something like that. It’s a bit of a weird one, but really well done.

Is there an American translation out yet? And has anyone here seen it? Thoughts?

Angela Wright said:Thankfully, illness doesn't strike people like you, because if it did, you'd probably just end it all right then and there—considering how much a little Typo can get under your skin (couldn't that have been the case here?) or since you just love being so damn smart and "right," regardless of who you're talking to or what kind of baggage and trauma they might be carrying inside.
You really depressed me.😢

I hope the issue was already sorted out by some photographer.

A Typo that almost everyone on this thread has run into? Look, I'm sorry about the illness, I'm not being malicious. It's just... why does your ego take such a bigger hit than your actual health when it comes to you?😉

Besides, I did a good thing. Now you guys will actually know how to read and write properly so you don't look illiterate anymore. It'll be good for your souls, and I hope you all stay healthy in the long run.🙂

Seriously, people mess up basic spelling all the time. But when someone who actually knows how to use the internet writes rengen 😱

It's X-ray
, you illiterate bunch.

Anyway, on topic—you can get that done at any decent photo lab.
Tampons in Women's Health ·

I know you are. But girl, you go at it like you're working a double shift at a steel mill.😎 😁

Was that directed at me?
Sounds kinda harsh. 😁

Nah, it's easy to act like an expert now that I've been using tampons for a few years. Three or four years ago? Totally clueless. 😁

Nah, it wasn't you, babe. 😘

Emily Hayes said:Pfft, easy to act all wise when you've already soaked up all the wisdom on this forum 😉 😁

🤣

And it’s just as easy to act all "hard to get" as it is to put in a tampon after an entire US Army battalion has stormed over you. Being a virgin is just a little harder on us.
How can I get Zithromax? in Health ·
mistyhound2 said:No, people with the flu (if we're strictly talking influenza) do not get Azithromycin as a preventative. Actually, they don't get *any* antibiotic preemptively. Sure, secondary bacterial infections like pneumonia are possible, but that's why you run targeted diagnostics. You don't just guess; you do a standard exam, check the blood work, and get a chest X-ray (at least, that's what I was taught, and it aligns with the guidelines from the Infectious Diseases Society of America). Only if there's actual suspicion of bacterial pneumonia—which is the most common complication with the flu—do you go for targeted therapy. In those cases, a Macrolide is used (provided the outpatient hasn't taken a Macrolide in the last three months), like Zithromax (Azithromycin). So, look, maybe Dr. 1 did the right thing, but honestly, it feels to me like she gave the Zithromax for a different reason entirely. As for Dr. 2? Doesn't seem right to me. She failed because: a) she didn't give the girl a proper exam, and b) she didn't even order basic lab work before just sending her off to an infectious disease specialist. A primary care physician should do everything within their power and knowledge first; you only refer to a specialist when you've hit a wall or when things are serious enough that hospitalization is on the table.

Anyway, that's just my two cents.🙂

Look, I'm telling you, medical practice *does* involve giving antibiotics preventatively when there's a high, lingering fever paired with a cough and a totally trashed immune system.

And honestly? I think taking that course of meds preventatively is a better bet than jumping straight to a chest X-ray.

Sam Hall15 said:So, we’re looking at a potential bacterial throat infection, which most often turns out to be Group A beta-hemolytic strep. This typically responds perfectly to natural penicillins like Penicillin G or V, while Macrolides serve as a second-line option for patients with penicillin allergies. In any case, you should probably avoid taking Zithromax 😁
...

Macrolides, man, 😉

Walter Myers4 said:What are you even making them out of? 😁

Look at her. In my family, this is kept as a top-tier secret for generations. My mom passed it down to me, her mom passed it to her, and so on. It’s all handmade, piece by piece. Every girl learns the technique by the time she’s five, and by her first period, she’s gotta have enough made to cover all the cycles coming her way. The good part is they can be tracked, so making about thirty is plenty. And yeah, you really need at least one mulberry silk expert in the family.
Walter Myers4 said:so what kind are you using?

🙄 Just the homemade stuff.
Walter Myers4 said:I’d also add that those store-bought daily liners are super unhealthy and often cause fungal issues. I bet most girls start itching after just an hour or two because they're basically just pure plastic.

That's because you're using the store-bought ones.
Just a little something extra to go along with your meds: skip the awkwardness of drinking sage tea and just drop a bit of sage essential oil onto your daily liner. It keeps the stubborn stuff at bay, keeps the guys away, and kicks those microbes to the curb... at least for a start. Plus, when you gotta go, the whole bathroom smells amazing.

If some guy singing cheesy pop today somehow managed to sell out globally like Bregović, those same people who trash mainstream pop would be bowing down to him tomorrow.

Look, you're kind of overthinking it. There isn't a single pop star playing low-brow hits right now who could actually break it internationally like Goran Bregović. It's simple: Bregović is just an objectively incredible musician, whether people dig that sound or not. Saying he's popular just because he happens to get played worldwide is a pretty shallow take. By that logic, Vlatko Stefanovski would be in the same boat.
Same goes for someone like Esma Redžepov, Kočan orkestar, Šaban Bajramović, or even the Mostar Sevdah reunion... but that's ethno music, which is a totally different beast. Comparing trashy pop to authentic ethno is just a reach.
Crotoxin said:If you look at history, people from England, Germany, the US, France, etc., all fit those exact definitions of nationalists.
But does their own people turn on them?
Did they get disowned or shamed by the rest of the world?
Is Bush a nationalist?
If he is, how did he even get elected in the US—the leader of the free world?
And do you actually think those nations are super advanced?
Not me. Only Switzerland, Sweden, Iceland, and Japan seem different to me when it comes to this stuff.

Yeah, totally agree with you.
Thomas Sanders22 said:nah, I'm just a straight-up idiot😉

so what's the actual definition?

Don't mix up nationalism with patriotism. People throw those terms around so loosely that you can argue over any definition, but you gotta know the difference because they’re actually totally different—even opposites. To me, "patriotism" means being devoted to your home and your way of life because you think it's the best, but without feeling the need to shove it down anyone else's throat. It's defensive by nature, whether we're talking military stuff or culture. Nationalism, though? That's all about the power trip. A nationalist's whole goal is to grab as much power and prestige as possible—not for themselves, but for the nation or whatever group they've decided to lose their individuality in. Usually, that ends up stripping rights away from everyone else. A nationalist can pull off the biggest lies, but since they think they're serving something bigger than themselves, they're dead certain they're right. Nationalism is basically just a hunger for power fueled by self-delusion.

George Orwell

Pretty smart guy, honestly.
