Yeah, I am... they never actually got back to me about my question/suggestion 😉
Okay, so I’ve got this one question that I just can't seem to find an answer to anywhere online, so I'm really hoping you might be able to help me out here 🙂

Basically, the news is constantly running these stories about how a huge chunk—honestly, most of them, if you ask me—of the collected samples haven't even been typed yet... apparently, because the foundation just doesn't have the budget to cover all of them, since typing every single one is insanely expensive. Personally, I would be more than happy to pay for my own typing 🙂—I mean, why isn't there an option to just foot the bill ourselves so my sample actually gets processed? You tell us it costs $1000, so I'll just send over $1000 for the service and then whoever handles the testing can just get on with it. Some people would genuinely love to chip in if they knew exactly where the money was going and when they'd finally see their own results.

Why isn't that an option? I mean, if that allowed for 100 more samples to be typed, wouldn't that be a massive win for everyone?

If someone accidentally wires you money that isn't yours, the bank usually just automates the reversal. Honestly, it’s not even that big of a deal to prove it hit the wrong account and get them to fix the mistake...

Most of the time, there isn't much of a headache involved—well, except for one time I dealt with it, but that was only because I used an account that was already having issues—but from what I've seen, it's pretty much a "no harm, no foul" situation 😁

Nah.

But honestly, once the sender realizes they sent the cash to the wrong person, they’re probably going to come looking for you 🙂—trust me, I've been through this exact thing myself, both as the one sending and the one receiving 😁...
Restless Leg Syndrome is just one of those many syndromes cooked up by Big Pharma—basically a way for them to target wealthy markets and peddle medications to people who have way too much cash and not enough attention, making them believe they need a pill for a condition they don't even actually have... a pill that doesn't even work.

There are tons of these out there, and the number of drugs marketed for them is even higher... 😉
Stubborn canker sore? What should I do? in Health ·

Look, just grab some $67 cream and that'll handle the immediate pain. Then you can worry about finding the actual root cause or whatever... once those mouth sores only last a single day, things will feel way more manageable 😉

Man, there were days when I just couldn't take itla anymore. I actually ended up on an IV drip once—thankfully, just a one-time thing
.
It wouldn't budge. That’s why I ended up trying pretty much everything out there... which is how I found this specific cream that wasn't even available here in the States 😬

(Luckily, they just stopped out of nowhere. I guess my immune system finally won the battle. But while it was happening 🙄...

Volon-H cream.

I'm not sure if you can just grab this at a CVS or Walgreens now—a few years back, I actually had to order it all the way from Austria. But seriously, there isn't a single mouth ulcer this stuff can't fix overnight... and trust me, I know what I'm talking about. My personal record was dealing with 14 ulcers at once, and one of them dragged on for 42 days straight 😉 .

hm.

hmhmhm.

watched it yesterday, and I’ve been trying to figure out what to say about it since then 😬 I haven't quite nailed it down yet, so this post is gonna be oh-so-confusing 😁

The movie's interesting. Complex. It IS a good movie. They absolutely nailed the atmosphere—it just sucks you right into that bleak, freezing misery of rural America, and the landscapes look incredible. Okay, now, I have some gripes: was it really NECESSARY to spend ten minutes of the film just watching one of them smoke? Just staring into space and smoking? Couldn't that time have been used better? And seriously, why such a crazy emphasis on the cigarettes? Like, even the sound of the smoke being inhaled?

But anyway, putting the cigarettes aside (they were annoying, yeah), I feel like they were pretty fair to the book, except for the humor. The book is funny. The movie... well, not really. There are maybe three moments where you might crack a smile, but that's about it 🤷

And god, what the hell was with that ending? SPOILER: he sabotages the car, the guy gets hit by a truck, and then we see Harvey Keitel running? And there's blood streaming down the OUTSIDE of the windshield? Like, come on...

Harvey Keitel and Philip Seymour Hoffman—top-tier acting. Seriously, hats off to both of them. I'm honestly so glad to see how much Hoffman has grown into a serious actor who can carry half a movie like this on his own shoulders—not to mention those beautiful brown eyes 😉

But yeah, it is confusing.

My advice: just take those $8.25, head over to the AMC Theatres (not Downtown) and enjoy an American film with some absolutely catastrophic translations for the English dialogue 😬

Ernest Hemingway said:(Let's clear up the confusion regarding the different titles for the book and the movie. The original car model was actually a Cadillac Eldorado, but since that reminded me of the French Riviera, I decided to tweak the book title. That connection didn't really matter for the film version, though.)

gonna go watch it tonight... 🙂

Moulin Rouge! by Baz Luhrmann in Movies ·
Man, I can't even tell you how much this movie cheered me up yesterday😍

Yeah, okay, it’s shallow. It’s a fairy tale. It’s messy and leaves stuff out. It isn't "realistic" by any stretch of the imagination.

But damn, it's just beautiful... the good guys win, the villains get what's coming to them, and everyone ends up exactly where they should be. In terms of believability, the story is somewhere in the ballpark of 🤔 Snow White. And honestly? I actually loved Snow White with Hugh Jackman and that stunning Nullah setting. Even though Moulin Rouge! is easily one of the worst cinematic struggles I've ever endured—mostly because my ex was absolutely obsessed with it 😁—and I'm not exactly a huge fan of the "artsy" Nicole, she didn't even bother me that much 😁

* - specifically that scene where Hugh shaves 🤣 🤣 🤣

Seriously, this movie is just too good, no matter how ridiculous it is.

I mean, it wasn't actually bad for some random Friday afternoon... yeah, they clearly didn't have a solid plan for the movie and, okay, sure, it’s a little messy, but damn, it was fun. There are some absolutely hysterical moments like "You gained some weight and you don't look like a young girl any more" 🤣, but overall—nothing deep, nothing life-changing, just kind of shallow and fine if you've got the time...

ahem, not trying to be a total snob here, the movie isn't actually titled that 😁—in the States, they just call it YPF.

around here I've read that it's actually great... everywhere I look online, the reviews are glowing, even if its IMDb score is kind of low. Since it's been forever since I've sat down for a decent comedy, I'll probably just download it, but I was wondering... has anyone else seen it yet? Searching this forum hasn't exactly been the warmest welcome for me 😬

Why on earth should a healthcare worker care about your personality? 😕

Look, as a patient, you really only have two jobs: show up with a referral and bring your medical history. You didn't do either one.

They still did their jobs perfectly fine regardless—so now you’re sitting here complaining that they weren't "nice" enough?

Honestly, if it were me, I’d probably just toss you out the door and tell you to come back when you actually have a referral and your records in hand. But, well, I'm not exactly known for being polite... they are. They stay professional and they do the work.

Shame on you...
