I was driving right past that little church where they filmed Bird (you know, the one used as the backdrop for Bird), Bodega Bay, back in 2006.

Andrew Mendoza10 said:The title says it all—my previous explanation was dismissed as nothing more than "trolling." I don't see it that way. It raises a question: does a moderator really hold absolute authority to decide what constitutes trolling and what doesn't? Wouldn't it be more equitable if we had a committee—composed of an impartial group of members—to settle these kinds of disputes? Who’s to say a single moderator can always remain objective and unbiased?

guess I gotta give it a shot now 🤦

wait, did I use that facepalm emoji on the forum earlier? am I gonna get in trouble for that? 😬

Well, it definitely gets the job done.

Following that program for a relatively short stint—honestly, in 100% of cases—you’re going to walk away with the exact same, absolute result...😬
Picking up OTC meds without a prescription in Health ·
Yeah, for certain meds you actually had to show some ID. We’re talking the heavy-duty opioid painkillers...

But honestly, making it that much of a hassle just to get an antibiotic or something for high blood pressure? That’s just straight-up garbage 😠

How do I add a ticker to my signature? in Forum Help! ·

Look, your signature is just way too long—you gotta trim it down. You're only allowed one single line... and honestly, if your text is super long, the system might be wrapping it automatically, which makes it look like more than one line even if you didn't mean it to...

Okay, it's finally showing up here... but for some reason, it just won't show up in my signature...😕

jadetrucker43 said:Which link? Seriously, I've been looking for you twice now—just drop your signature attempt right here so we can actually see where things are going wrong. I mean, how am I supposed to figure out what's broken if I don't even know what you're trying to build in the first place... 🤷

Well, here it is... right there in the post above... 🙄

Luckily, you can't actually do that on this Reddit—it's just not possible to have a ticker in your signature. I think someone already pointed that out in this thread at least ten times...
Online order update. in Miscellaneous ·
Look, man, if it says "your order has been shipped," then it means they actually sent you what you bought. Period.

And honestly, whenever you're buying stuff online, they always take your money before the package even hits your doorstep—mostly because it has to travel through the mail system first.😉

EDIT: btw, how would the seller even know when your package is gonna show up anyway? It's not like they're tracking USPS in real-time...😕
Excel formula help needed in Software ·
Well, obviously it’s because you’re dividing by zero.

You gotta set it up so that when the discount is at 0%—basically when there isn't even a discount—it doesn't try to divide at all. Just mess around with the IF function... tell it that if that field says 0%, it should just pull the value from above, but if it's anything else besides 0%, then go ahead and run the math.

really 🙂

honestly, there’s nothing better when you need to track down metastatic clusters... it's incredibly sensitive and pinpoint accurate—definitely the gold standard for stuff like that.

velvetmarlin17 said:So, we're talking about that one well-known substance—you know, that specific chemical compound pulled straight from nature... Not really... It’s totally possible to protect it from being ripped off—you can actually patent it...

This just isn't true...

So, I was falling down a bit of a rabbit hole earlier—you know how it goes—looking up some info on Paclitaxel... and man, there is a lot to unpack there. It’s one of those heavy-duty drugs that basically changed the game for cancer treatment back in the day. It originally comes from the Pacific yew tree, which sounds almost poetic if you think about it, but the reality of what it does is pretty intense. It works by messing with how cells divide—basically freezing the cell's internal scaffolding so they can't multiply. It’s super effective for certain types of cancer, like breast or ovarian, but it definitely comes with its own set of baggage in terms of side effects. The big players in the industry, like Bristol Myers Squibb, have been heavily involved with this stuff through various versions and formulations over the years. It’s wild to think how much research went into turning something found in a tree into a standardized medical tool used in hospitals all over the US... it really makes you realize how far science has come, even if the process is pretty heavy.

So, Paclitaxel—better known as Taxol, which you've probably heard popping up more often lately as a treatment for various types of cancer—actually comes from a plant that only grows out in the Pacific Northwest. Bristol Myers Squibb managed to snag some specific patent protections on it, and man, they made a killing... If you start digging through the links on this page, though, you'll see how this tiny biotech firm actually developed a totally new, original, and super innovative formulation based on Paclitaxel, and they ended up making some serious bank back in 2009 too...

Mark Sanchez28 said:The morning-after pill is strictly prescription-only—you need a doctor's recommendation to get it.

So, you're basically admitting this whole thread is a blatant violation of the Drug Act, right?

Are you guys gonna turn yourselves in to the FDA, or am I gonna have to call them myself? 😉
Emergency contraception: Need help ASAP! in Women's Health ·
Right now, the current Drug Act—specifically Section 83—strictly PROHIBITS any kind of advertising for prescription-only medications:

Section 83.

Advertising for drugs mentioned under Section 50, Subsection 2, points 1 and 2 of this Law is only allowed in medical journals, at professional and scientific conferences, or when directed toward healthcare professionals.

Advertising for drugs under Section 50, Subsection 2, point 2 of this Law is allowed for the general public.

However, advertising for drugs covered by Section 50, Subsection 2, point 1 is strictly forbidden for the general public.

The prohibition in Subsection 3 doesn't apply to public health initiatives promoting immunization, seroprophylaxis, or chemoprophylaxis as part of a program set by the Secretary in accordance with the Communicable Diseases Act.

It's also illegal to advertise any finished drug that hasn't been approved for market release—except at professional/scientific meetings or in medical literature, provided the approval process has officially started and you only use the generic name without mentioning the manufacturer. These restrictions don't apply to international conferences held within the United States.

Section 50 breaks down medications like this:

How a drug is dispensed is determined by its official market approval.

Based on how they are dispensed, drugs are categorized as:

1. Prescription drugs,

2. Over-the-counter drugs.

The Secretary sets more specific criteria for these classifications via regulation.

The little loophole where nobody actually names the drug in this thread is probably enough to keep the distributor from getting slapped with a fine... But honestly, it’s still breaking the Law, which exists all over the world for some pretty damn good reasons...

thanks so much, Sophia Wells72, for putting this all down so I didn't have to 😬

I'm signing off on everything you said—literally word for word. Honestly, I didn't see these posts until late last night, and by then it was way too late to start dissecting all the wrong info... glad you were able to step up and handle it though 😁
