man, the sun, the ocean... it all just blurs together after a while...

SERIOUSLY!!! if they don't feel right when they're dry, there's almost zero chance you'll actually like how they sit once they get wet...

Look for the ones that actually feel comfortable on your nose right from the jump. I once tried those supposedly "perfect" frames from $67, and let me tell you—they wouldn't stay put on my weirdly shaped nose to save my life. But definitely don't go for the super cheap stuff, of course...

Betty Rivera14, it's not like everyone has a professional swim coach. Some people just hit up the local YMCA to swim a few laps just to clear their heads and feel better...

YES - they've got vitamins 👍
NO - they cause vitamin toxicity (like, the body can't flush out Vitamin A fast enough, so you end up with headaches and... well, literal crap hitting the fan)👍

So what now? - honestly, it all comes down to dosage👋

Look, were you actually joking with this post? I honestly can't tell...

That being said, I gotta say one thing in the study really rubbed me the wrong way:
I totally get his point, and honestly, props to him for digging through all that literature—but that whole section about the dangers of overhydrating? It just felt unnecessary. He spends the whole time talking about healthy adults, then tries to drop the "danger" hammer by citing people who died from drinking dozens of liters of water after taking ecstasy??? I mean, come on, give me a break...

But the article itself is actually a fantastic read. It blows my mind how rarely this gets cited as a source, while that total BS about needing eight glasses of water is repeated so often it's basically become gospel at this point...
For anyone out there actually willing to sit down and grind through a serious scientific paper in English—specifically if you've been wondering how much water your body really needs—I’m dropping the link to the study again...

ban advisor said:If they uninstalled it and ended up with a dialer issue, can't they just sue AT&T for having buggy software? 🤔

Nah. In those terms you have to agree to before you even touch the anti-dialer, it basically says:

7. Software is provided to the user "as is" and with "best efforts," without any guarantee that this software will function correctly—either partially or fully—or without unintended consequences on any computer, nor that it will meet all the user's specific requirements, even though AT&T has thoroughly tested this software on all major versions of the Microsoft Windows operating system. AT&T has taken all reasonable steps to ensure the software is compatible with other programs the user might have on their machine, but cannot guarantee that the software's operations will be uninterrupted, error-free, or seamless, or that it won't cause material or any other damages. The term "without warranty" includes warranties of quality, fitness for a particular purpose, or any other warranties arising from any suggestion, specification, or sample.

8. AT&T is not responsible for issues caused by accidental occurrence, misuse, improper use, alterations, or inappropriate application of the software, nor for any damages resulting from such use.

9. AT&T has no control over how the user employs the software. Therefore, AT&T does not guarantee the effectiveness of the software. AT&T does not guarantee the accuracy or validity of all data within the software and therefore assumes no liability for inaccuracies, expired data, or any downtime caused by them.

Man, I guess lawyers really do need a way to make a living...

I probably explained that kind of messy... hope it made sense...

Of course I’d feel terrible if I actually made such a massive mess of things—but if I found out I really did install a dialer, there's no way I'm sitting around being polite about filing an official complaint with AT&T...

Look, Kuzis, I’d be pretty gutted to lose $50k—I mean, that's a massive chunk of change—but honestly? I wouldn't even complain...

I guess I might need one now too... ☕

And what about cutting ties with everyone who had a dialer installed? Or the parents whose teenage kids were calling those premium hotlines? Or even just anyone who ended up with a massive bill this month because they spent way too much time talking to their girlfriend?

I mean, where do you even draw the line... is it at the first deaf handball player or...

ps: seriously though, those cookies are actually coming...

Man, seriously—stop playing dumb with me. I’ve got cookies waiting for me at home and here I am just messing around with you!!!

I never said I'd pay them without feeling the sting—honestly, it would hurt like hell because scraping up $8,000 is no joke... I'd probably have to take out a loan or something. But hey, like I said, we all own our mistakes, right?

Man, damn... this is actually getting a little scary. 😁

I just had one of those right-wingers agree with me TWICE in a single day!!!

I think I need to go take care of some business or something just to level things out!

Oh, and one more thing. I kind of get why people would file a complaint about an account like that. But what really sucks in this specific case—and it's pretty gross if you ask me—is that he’s filing the grievance and grabbing all this attention basically because he's "deaf and a representative for the US national handball team." Does that mean he deserves special treatment over some random Joe Smith or Mike Jones when dealing with AT&T?

walter said:Jose Miller3, look... let's just get straight to the point...

If you got hit with a massive bill from $17 for one lousy month, would you actually sit there complaining—or would you just pay up and move on with your life?

I’d check my laptop to see if I’d accidentally installed some shady dialer or whatever—and if I found out I was dumb enough to rack up $17 in a single month... honestly, I’d probably just sell a kidney to cover the tab.
It’s the same deal as when I intentionally park in a red zone knowing full well I shouldn't—I just take the parking ticket and deal with it.

That's what owning your mistakes looks like, Walt...

Lipi said:I think you're missing a piece of the puzzle here... even with all this fancy digital tech, logs and everything else can be bypassed. Like, with mobile service, someone could "manually" swap an IMSI number at the switching center—meaning you could basically pull some shady moves when the bill hits. Of course, that only works if you've burned a bridge with someone working at Verizon or HT who happens to have some "pull"... 😁, obviously.

Okay, let's say you're right (and look, I have zero reason not to take your word for it)... but has that actually happened? Have you ever heard of anyone getting stuck with a fake bill through a stunt like that? And what would they even gain from it, besides just the sick satisfaction of screwing someone over?
And if it did happen, is that actually a crime by HT or Verizon... or is it just one rogue employee abusing their position to mess with you?

dustyscout53 said:So, the phone company doesn't make money off dialers? No way.

Of course they make money—but they also make money when I call my aunt in Des Moines 😁. What, are we just supposed to stop using phones because the service provider turns a profit? Or stop using electricity just because Exelon makes a buck...

As for those anti-dialer programs, honestly, they’re total garbage. They don't actually protect you from anything. Just like most junk in life, the only real protection against dialers is keeping your private business to yourself...

Tipkovac said:What if someone from AT&T called using your number and racked up a massive bill?
How would you even prove it wasn't you calling?...

I don't see how that even relates to what we're talking about here...

I've honestly never heard of anyone at AT&T hijacking a phone line just to run up some huge charges.
