So, does homeopathy actually work? in Health ·

and I’m just sitting there losing my mind...

plus I actually have a massive mountain of work to get through!

Dictionary, Rachel Brooks63, Dictionary! 😁

honestly, that’s being way too kind considering what I actually thought about this absolute clown when I read his moronic reply—I definitely had to censor myself there...

people with "minds" like that... I swear, I’d leave them to suffer through the worst possible illnesses without ever giving them any actual medicine. Just to start things off, I'd have them undergo surgery without any local anesthesia...

Total jerk...

Alright, come on—explain it to us "slow learners" then... why exactly haven't those methods Lisa Ramos74 mentioned managed to break into mainstream medicine? Please, I’m begging you. We’ll be reading your explanation very, very carefully...

So, since you’re such a moderate believer when it comes to homeopathy—what kind of illness do you actually think can be cured by it?...

I think I finally figured out who owns that afro clone... shadowgardener12 is honestly such a legend—he just gets it, while the rest of us (and let’s be real, that’s basically everyone else) are just totally clueless...

Total loser!

shadowfalcon33 said:I don't see why research coming out of America would matter to you?

I mean, it’s pretty obvious, right?

In the States, researchers are mostly doing alright—they're financially stable, they have access to independent funding for their big academic projects, and they aren't constantly looking over their shoulders worrying about being bought off by "evil Big Pharma"... you know, those types who might tweak their data just to please a donor. Meanwhile, out in other parts of the world, scientists are basically struggling just to stay afloat, always waiting on the next grant so they don't feel pressured to fudge their results just to survive...

man, shadowfalcon33, you really just don't get it... 🙄

George Johnson30, sorry for jumping into this thread with a bit of an off-topic question, but it feels like there are plenty of experts hanging around here: where can some lazy folks—you know, the ones who can't be bothered to drive all the way down to San Diego—get some actually decent orthopedic insoles made right here in Washington, D.C.? I’m definitely not talking about those cheap fifty-cent drugstore versions, and I'm also skipping the ones you can get made over at Madison Square Garden... mostly because a buddy of mine paid a fortune for a pair from the Mayo Clinic and ended up tossing them straight in the trash, claiming it was actually more dangerous to wear those things than just going for a jog in wooden clogs!

Thanks in advance to anyone who knows the deal...

Nah, you honestly can't find rubber bouncy balls anywhere in Washington, D.C. 🙄

Oh, come on, be for real here.

If you decide you're skipping food one day a week, then just... don't eat on that day!!! I mean, what kind of "advice" are you actually looking for when it comes to fasting?

So, I’m asking this again:

Would you honestly look your dear neighbor Barrett—who actually knows her way around money—in the eye and suggest she go get advice from some "unqualified and clueless financial advisor"... or would you just tell her to keep her cash tucked away under the mattress?

I mean, it’s pretty obvious this is just Allianz’s version of an "independent firm"—of course they’re going to push products that benefit Allianz...

I wasn't actually thinking about them when I was writing my previous posts, but honestly, I think it's better to have a guy from Charles Schwab in your corner than just keeping all your cash under a mattress...

It’s mostly because of the massive amount of people out there who wouldn't even know how to draft a basic strategic financial plan, let alone actually execute one...

I mean, obviously... just like any other industry, you're gonna run into people who don't have a clue what they're doing and are just out to bleed their clients dry. It’s unavoidable, really. That’s why I always say you have to be super careful about who you actually trust when it comes to investments...

And yeah, I totally agree that this kind of self-promotion on the forum isn't allowed—and honestly, in this specific case, it's just completely unnecessary.

Personally, I’d probably tell most people to look into hiring a pro—maybe someone at Charles Schwab or something similar—even though I could never bring myself to actually pull the trigger on that personally. Why?

Well, just like hiddencrane18 was saying, sure, all the info is out there online, but the real trick is knowing where to dig. Most folks just don't get that. It's easy for us to act like we have it all figured out because we know how to hunt down answers on the web, but let's be real... what percentage of the population actually does that? I'm talking about "regular" people—and no offense intended, I just mean people who don't spend ten hours a day glued to a screen—but they usually have zero clue what banks are actually offering them or what new products are hitting the market. There are so many options out there, thank God, but without guidance, they end up just letting their hard-earned cash sit in a basic savings account gathering dust... kind of like what my grandma used to do. It's such a waste when there are way better ways to make that money work for you.

At the same time, it's huge that a financial advisor builds actual trust with their clients. You aren't going to win anyone over by lying through your teeth and claiming you're doing everything for free. Just be upfront about how you benefit from the relationship—I'm sure if you're honest about it, nobody's going to take issue with that.

Back when I was at my old firm, I used to give people advice on what to do with their severance packages for a while (totally for free, no commission involved at all)... and honestly, not a single person I helped ended up just parking their money in a three-month CD.😎

I gotta say though—this thread has basically become a nutritionist's fever dream... it's nothing but healthy eating talk in here now😂
Betty Rivera14 said:omg, you're one of those people who can't handle anything delicious when it's actually hot 🙄 😁 😉

nah, I am definitely not one of those people. I live for warm apple pie and fresh sourdough straight out of the oven—seriously, nothing's ever been too much for me there...

but those corn dogs though... (childhood trauma)
rustymoose54 said:I gotta be honest, pork rinds are just a total hard pass for me... 😬

Wait, were they actually hot—like, freshly fried?

Please don't even go there... 🤮 🤮 🤮

Seriously, no amount of whiskey could ever replicate the stomach flip I got from a bowl of steaming hot pork rinds and bread—and yeah, that was like 15 or 20 years ago, but man, the memory still sticks!
rustymoose54 said:let's be real, you don't actually have many options once you're stuck in a spot like mine—whether you want them or not😬

What do you mean you don't have options? You could always just go, "Oh my god, this is terrible, I guess I'll just be sick for the rest of my life, everyone needs to take care of me, oops, I can't exactly go to college because I have diabetes," and just wallow in being sick while expecting the world to cater to you...
don't sell yourself short here—it takes a massive amount of guts to actually face your "inner demons" and try to live a normal life!
