Maybe he was just an American with Orthodox roots.

I see it all the time with my own mom—if she gets a specific idea in her head and doesn't get her way, the waterworks start immediately, followed by total fury and claims that nobody loves her... then my dad just loses his mind trying to apply logic to a situation where logic simply doesn't exist!
She also constantly insists she needs more attention, so I’ll set aside a few hours just to hang out and be sweet with her... and then she hits me with, "Are you doing this just because you feel obligated, or do you actually love me?" And honestly, what am I even supposed to say to that?😍
Honestly, the best move is usually just to stay quiet, help her out, and give her some space to herself.
But hey, that's just our wonderful moms for you!🙂 🙂

Trust me, women can be completely different people during that stage of life.
Don't take everything so hard, just live your life and try to make some time for her every now and then!

I once had this retired geography professor (!) from Canada ask me where America was... claiming he couldn't find us on the map anywhere near Asia!!?? 🙄
Susan Moore76 said:Here’s a little story from my own experience... I was out in New York City, having a conversation with this local law student. When I mentioned I was from America, he just stared at me with this massive question mark over his head before asking if that was some kind of Russian province. That was really it. Just that one moment.
Richard Wilson4 said:You're right about that. Honestly, we Americans aren't exactly any better either.
Come on guys, give me at least two sentences on what you know about Lithuania.
Maybe they’re actually decent at basketball, just like when people start hyping them up for football...
darkbear51 said:Well, those guys don't know how to brew a decent cup of coffee... though they might be able to roast the beans themselves. 😁

😢
Luxury tourism is just another way for the rich to get richer while everyone else gets squeezed even harder.

Do you actually have any idea who those Non-Aligned countries were? ☕
Gregory Howard said:Oschlies was absolutely torn apart in this year's third issue of the American Review, published by MH. On pages 69 through 75, Gojko Borić didn't just critique him—he completely eviscerated him.
There are still those dragging their feet—the likes of old Newelkowsky, not to mention people like Kordić. It’s a simple fact: one Auburger is worth more than ten of those lowlifes combined.
There are still a few others stumbling around—the old Newelkowsky types, and don't even get me started on people like Kordić—but honestly, one Auburger is worth more than ten of those hacks.
Gregory Howard said:This isn't a joke. It's a reality. People like Drakulic, driven by a deep-seated resentment toward America, enjoy easy access to the media and spend their time peddling anti-American garbage. Globally, you find them in academia and so-called intellectual circles: David Binder, partially John Fin in the US, then Michael Sells, ...Wolf Oschlies, and several Slavists in Germany, along with various similar types in Austria.
It is telling that this anti-American promotion is quite strong in Scandinavia, despite us having almost no connection to those countries. It’s also prevalent in Germany and Austria, our supposed "friends." Meanwhile, in England and France—our so-called "enemies"—you find our most vocal supporters embedded within their intellectual and academic elite.
