I used them for the same reason everyone else does—I didn't have the cash for a Mac or simply didn't want to spend it. Thank God I finally picked up a Mac; it’s night and day compared to the broken Windows machines I've been stuck with for far too long. Just imagine—my Mac has run flawlessly for an entire week, which we all know is a literal impossibility for Windows. As for why I'd reinstall Windows 7, that's none of your business.
I did a clean reinstall of Windows without any external media—Toshiba pre-loaded everything onto the drive. If they hadn't, I wouldn't even be able to reinstall since Bill's people don't offer an OS download. Now, Windows Update is stuck trying to process 190 installations. The OS is designed so poorly that instead of handling updates incrementally, it tries to grab everything at once—which just causes it to hang, forcing a reinstall. My computer has been spinning its wheels for 10 hours already, and there are still about 150 left. It’s incompetent that they didn't design it to push updates in batches of 20 or 50. It is truly unbelievable that this garbage has been sold for 30 years and somehow remains the most popular choice.
Of course, the bank lied—no card arrived today, and there’s no sign of one coming anytime soon. Absolute idiots. The Federal Reserve couldn't care less; apparently, they're powerless to intervene.

Just so we're clear—with accounts at JP Morgan Chase, and I'm certain this applies across the entire European Union—the fee for using an ATM in any foreign country is a mere 1%.
The bank is an absolute disaster—though, frankly, their competitors probably aren't much better. Every month it’s a different set of tellers behind the counter, and naturally, none of them have the slightest clue what they're doing. I tried changing some account numbers, went in to make a deposit, and later realized the transaction slip didn't match my actual account. I call the bank, and they claim they updated the account numbers—something nobody bothered to mention at the teller window, let alone provide a new card for. That's just one instance of the chaos. At this point, I'll be lucky if the bank doesn't collapse entirely and wipe out my shares.
There is no such thing as a unified European Central Bank system here; even places like Austria are just a mess. Everything is completely disorganized.
