darkowl72 said:😉I really do feel a profound sense of care regarding this whole situation, because when you sit back and truly contemplate the ripple effects of these decisions on our local communities, it becomes so much more than just a simple matter of policy or procedure... it touches upon the very fabric of how we interact with one another in this great nation, and I find myself constantly ruminating on whether we are doing enough to protect the interests of the average citizen who just wants a fair shake... it’s all quite heavy if you think about it too long, but I remain incredibly optimistic that if we approach this with genuine empathy and a bit of common sense, we can navigate these choppy waters together... turns out, heart matters just as much as logic does in the end...

You're very welcome! I am more than happy to help you out with this whenever you're ready... just let me know what you need! 👍 By the way, you don't exactly need to be some kind of rocket scientist or a total genius just to hunt down the absolute maximum FSB...😁I haven't actually messed around with any mods or tweaked anything under the hood... I’ve just been keeping everything completely stock, exactly how it came from the factory...

I just knew you’d be able to pull that off, you young whippersnapper...🧐
You truly earned it... you really did! I was just sitting here thinking about that whole situation regarding the medal... you know, the one everyone has been buzzing about lately... and it really makes you wonder about the weight of these things, both physically and symbolically, because sometimes a simple piece of metal carries more gravity than an entire lifetime of effort, though I suppose that might be a bit dramatic, isn't it? But still, when you look at the history behind such honors in our country, it's almost overwhelming how much pride is poured into a single moment of recognition... anyway, I digress, but I truly believe we should look closer at what this means for the future... Well, this one’s really meant for riding pigs, though I suppose I don't have any other options on hand at the moment...😁😁😁

Haha... oh, man, that really hit the spot! Just one of those little moments that catches you completely off guard and leaves you grinning like an idiot for no reason at all... absolutely hilarious! 😂 Riding a pig... honestly, now that I think about it, you’d probably need to find one of those absolute monsters, like something out of a farm documentary, just to have enough surface area to actually mount and ride without tumbling off immediately...😍

Hey everyone, check out what this P35 DS3P can actually pull off😁

steelsailor3 said:Hey wiredmarlin5, how's that overclocking progress coming along with that P35 chipset?

Well, I’ve still got the cooler sitting right on top of the CPU, mostly because that stubborn little H-series chip is still glued tight to the old motherboard...

I spent a bit of time today working on it with a hobby knife... so, if all goes well, I should be able to get everything stripped down and mounted onto the DS3P by tomorrow...

Once that's settled, then I can finally go after that 4GHz+ mark!

The only real headache is that this board only lets me adjust the voltage in 0.05V increments once I pass 1.6V... which is honestly kind of frustrating, because back in the day, an old motherboard from an Intel build would let you tweak things by 0.0125V or even smaller steps...

First off, are you absolutely certain you’ve got the right stylus in your hand? Are you positive that it’s actually the correct motherboard you're working on? And, man, are you sure you're poking around the right spot on the board... and most importantly, are you feeling confident that you actually know the drill here?

If you can say "yes" to all of those—then honestly, just reach out to Razer directly. 😁

Personally, I tend to avoid tinkering unless it's absolutely necessary...😍

Daniel Nguyen3 said:but if the processor itself is the bottleneck, why on earth does it demand 1.6 Vcore at 380 FSB (3.4GHz), then jump to 1.63-1.64 at 385, and then just flat out refuse to even boot into Windows once I hit 390...

2.9 ghz - stock 1.325v
3.2ghz - 1.45v
3.4ghz - 1.6v

the Vcore requirements are just absolutely insane...
this L2 stepping is total junk......

I can't even get Super Pi to run at 3.4ghz (using that realtime priority setting), because after I dialed everything back down to 2.4ghz, I just don't have the patience to try booting it up again, my nerves are shot...😁

We are talking about reaching the Max FSB clock here, not just standard CPU overclocking. You hunt for that Max FSB by dropping the multiplier to its lowest setting and cranking the FSB until things start breaking. And listen, if you decide to push past 450MHz FSB on a P35 chipset, you're going to have to bump up the FSB voltage along with all the other voltages depending on which motherboard you're running...🙂

Harold Lopez31 said:If it won't go, it won't go.😍 I've heard people say that even the newer Intel Core 2 Duo E4400 and Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 won't break 3.5 or 3.6GHz, no matter how much voltage you feed them, they just hit a wall...

That’s why those seasoned old E6700 chips can hit 3.85GHz at 1.47V (at least, that's how mine behaved on an ASUS P5K64 Extreme paired with a Typhoon)...😁😁

Well, "Strap" is just the technical term for it, though honestly, it’s probably easier if we just don't even bother bringing up the strap at all... 🙂

The way you refer to the multiplier doesn't actually change much, the real kicker is that 200MHz default FSB... see, the higher the rated FSB is, the higher that max FSB is going to be, and if my memory serves me right, Razer was actually trying to explain that exact point to you...
Overclocking (Main Thread) in Desktops ·
Well, you’ve hit that FSB wall on your processor, and you really need the motherboard to be able to push through around 500MHz... That particular wall seems to be a thing with pretty much all the Series 2 and Series 4 chips out there. Most of those older E8400 types can generally breeze past the 500MHz mark, though these newer Core 2 Duo E8400 models can actually climb even higher than 600MHz... provided you're running a high-end board, of course...🙂
Overclocking (Main Thread) in Desktops ·
The Max FSB was sitting right at 500MHz, but I'm really feeling optimistic that I can squeeze out an extra 10 or 15MHz if I just bump up the voltage a bit...
Overclocking (Main Thread) in Desktops ·
I’ve been playing around a bit with the cooling setup and pushing the clock speeds just to see what happens... managed to hit 3.65GHz at 1.48V, which isn't exactly a bad start, though the temperatures are getting a little too spicy for me to push it any further... 😢

That EasyTune software is actually pretty fun to mess with, too! 🙂

If you really want to see things kick up a notch, try setting the process priority to realtime within your Task Manager... you might just notice a little bit of extra progress there... 🙂

I’m going to get this Typhoon ready so I can really push its limits...

My main goal here is to hit 4.3GHz... though if I were using LN2, I could easily breeze right past 5 GHz... but that’s probably a bit too extreme for most people out there...🙂

Edward Peterson70 said:Wait, what kind of memory we talking about here? MHz and timings?

The RAM is just some supertalent PC6400 C4, but honestly, that doesn't really matter for what I'm doing right now...

My whole focus was just hunting for that absolute maximum FBI... nothing else matters! I hit a wall at 500MHz, though I have a feeling I could probably squeeze out another 10 or 15MHz if I pushed it just a little bit harder...

So, strictly speaking, the theoretical ceiling for this processor is sitting right around 5100MHz...😁

Thomas Hill2 said:The Big Typ VX actually sits quite nicely on the processor, I didn't run into any real trouble getting it mounted at all... though maybe it just looks that way to you because of its sheer size 🙂

If you take a moment to look at how the mounting setup differs between the VX and a standard 120mm cooler, you’ll see a massive difference in the thermal results when measuring the temperatures on a Q6600 b3... it really is night and day!

By the way, if you ask me, a real review should be a bit more substantial than just two or three sentences describing stuff like, "Oh wow, look at those lovely black colors..."
Honestly, there isn't a single thing on that link provided that actually offers any real clarity to people looking for an actual explanation...

Take a look at this motherboard: 😁

1060 MHz CL4 is such an incredible overclock... honestly, for my $50 GB kit, it feels absolutely top-tier. I was wondering though, what does the SPD actually list for the voltage and latency when you're running at 800MHz?

Oh, come on now, don't be silly, you should still have your warranty intact... 😢 I really am so sorry to hear that happened, but if the claim actually goes through, maybe we could look into swapping those out for some Ballistix instead, since the ones you have are totally out of stock now...

My apologies... 🙂
