Once I finally came to terms with the fact that I’m packing nothing much down there—well, things just haven't been the same since. Hit rock bottom, plain and simple.
Without cash, you have nothing—no matter how much people blow their trumpets claiming money isn't everything. It’s actually a massive part of just about everything.
I don't know what you're trying to get at here. Is there actually a point to this? kaže: It’s not exactly a fortune—barely three of my daily wages.🙄
I’m glad you’re pulling in more than I am—really, I am—but let’s be realistic about the situation for both of us. $167 It’s not even the same ballpark—you pull that kind of cash in three days, whereas for me, it takes a hell of a lot longer.
Quincy:
I don't know what to tell you. Just one more thing to deal with. kaže: He’s hardly some radical leftist—his best friend probably just feeds him nothing but cheap takeout. Forgive me.🤷
There’s really no need to spend your day chasing someone around town just to get paid—especially when they already gave you their word they'd settle up. Why make it a pursuit? He even admitted it himself—he isn't going to let himself go hungry just to settle some debt. Forgive his arrears once, maybe. But after this? No more. He lends.
He’s not exactly my best friend—I’d probably bail him out if he were genuinely starving—but if he’s got enough cash for nights out and packs of Marlboros, then he certainly has enough to settle his debt with me. 🤷 I don't have an issue with how he spends his money—or whether he goes out on the town—but I figured if he’s living that lifestyle, there should be enough left over for me. As it turns out, there was. Once he heard my deadline for the funds, he just said, "No problem."
I’m done lending out my cash—that chapter is closed. But don't get it twisted—I have absolutely no intention of just letting my money walk away. 🙂
Quincy:
I don't know what you're trying to get at here—is there actually a point to this? If you have something to say, just say it. Otherwise, why bother? kaže: If you’re going to borrow money, just be upfront about the deadline—tell them exactly when it’s coming back instead of leaving them guessing. Why make it complicated? It doesn't matter. When you finally get your hands on it, make sure you leverage it—get out while you can. Opportunities like this don't just vanish; they can collapse entirely if you wait too long. Why sit around waiting for a better moment that might never come? It’s been a while.
And what if his friend is just some useless hanger-on who can't actually deliver the cash? What then? Will the money be back soon?
That’s exactly what I told him—that was my position from the start. It isn't like I suddenly flipped my script after a week. Nine months is a long time to be sitting on an opinion. 🤷
The man said he’d make it right—and I don't doubt him for a second.
The train fare was easy—neither he nor I would have had any trouble covering that.
It’s not that I’m judging him, per se; it just feels off. Looking at it from my side of things, if he actually felt an obligation to pay me back, he’d have done it the second he had the cash. Someone always ends up losing out in these scenarios, but a debt is a debt. If I didn't need the money by a specific deadline, I probably wouldn't even be bringing this up.
I don't lend money anymore. If anyone asks, I tell them I don't have any—which, frankly, will likely become a reality pretty soon. End of story.
Brandon Lopez6 said:Look, I’m rooting for you either way—really hope you get your money back. Honestly, though, I think bringing up interest rates right now might be a bit much. 😬
I think I will, thanks.🙂
If they actually offered it to me, I’d pass—I’m not exactly looking to play philanthropist😁 but honestly, nowadays even the people borrowing the money don't seem to care. They act like if I happen to be lucky enough to have some cash sitting around, it's my responsibility to fund them.🤷
Brandon Lopez6 said:Nothing's a done deal until you actually see the cash in your account. Besides, you even mentioned up above that he already promised to pay you back 🤷
That's true enough. But that was more of a "yeah, I'll get you back" without any actual timeline attached—and I even told him to just pay me when he had it, since I didn't really need the money at the time. We've settled on a rough timeframe now, so we'll see how it plays out. If I ever bring this up again down the road, you'll know the money hasn't surfaced.
He called—said he'd let me know when he needed me, promised it wouldn't be an issue. So maybe I was just being dramatic for nothing 🤷 considering how much of a mess things are with that money
I didn't actually intend to bring up his spending on nights out or cigarettes—that’s his business—it just looks a bit questionable from my perspective. 🤷 Everyone operates differently, I suppose. But if I ask for my money back and mention I need it soon, it isn't even a lie; I have plenty of plans lined up that require a larger budget.
I’m feeling the exact same way—working my ass off for maybe three grand a month, and even then, after all the excuses they pull, I usually end up with less. Looking at it now, I realize this is barely 1/6th of my pathetic paycheck.
I lent out a small amount of cash—nothing crazy by objective standards, but given my salary, it actually matters. Especially since I know exactly how much they worked me to death at my job just to earn it. The deal was simple: a friend would pay me back once he got his paycheck. One month passes. Two months pass. Nothing. I didn't say a word—figured he’d bring it up himself—but then he goes and quits his job. At some party, he finally mentions he'll pay me back and that he’s feeling awkward about it. I played it cool; told him it wasn't urgent and to just pay whenever he could. Fast forward to today: I hear from another friend that this guy is out every weekend, spending money, living his life. Now I’m the idiot 🤷 It’s been roughly nine months now 🤷 though does it even matter?
If I just write the money off in the name of "friendship," I end up kicking myself for being naive enough to lend money to friends—or for being too hesitant to demand it back. My gut tells me to go after it, yet part of me just wants to say, "forget the cash, I won't starve without it," and vow never to lend a dime to anyone again.
David Mendoza73 said:Hey 🙂 Ever say things you don't actually mean to people you care about? I hate it. Every time I get into an argument, the anger just takes over and I lash out with things I don't even believe. It’s the worst feeling. I tell myself a thousand times I won't react like this, but I can't just stay quiet when something's bothering me. So the fight happens, the words fly, and then the regret hits. Once they're out there, you can't take them back. I want to change how I handle things—even the small stuff, like bickering with my parents or siblings—but honestly, it feels impossible. 🙂 Is it even possible to change your gut reactions? If anyone has advice, let me know. The title is pretty blunt. Couldn't think of anything else. Thanks
People are their most honest selves when they're angry—they finally say what they really think.
Frank Moore4 said:This is just another textbook example of how inhumane these self-proclaimed animal rights activists can be. Honestly, half of them probably haven't even walked a dog on a leash, let alone handled actual farm work or livestock. They claim they’re "protecting" animals, but they’d happily step over a human being to do it.
Unfortunately, this is just more evidence of how twisted these Western "liberal values" have become. It’s honestly shameful that our local police aren't stepping in to deal with people like this and filing formal criminal charges for their threats and harassment. At this point, we probably need the courts—and maybe a psychiatric evaluation—to get a handle on them.
Usually, these people just spout nonsense—honestly, they belong in a maximum-security prison. All they do is talk trash and waste taxpayer money, lecturing everyone else about being "progressive" and "enlightened," when in reality, they’re nothing more than fascists.
What’s your take—is this actually worth the investment? Or should I be looking elsewhere? I want something built to last, something reliable—not just some cheap gadget that dies on me in two years.
Well, we finally got them: :zubo : what a relief. I just hope I don't have to deal with this kind of mess again—having six of them out of ten people is more than enough for one lifetime.
First off, I’m not trolling—though I realize how hard that is to swallow. Believe me, I know.
Anyway, about ten minutes ago, I laid down and drifted off, but it wasn't exactly sleep. It was more like total paralysis. Suddenly, this strange energy started surging through my body toward my head while I remained completely frozen. My teeth even started chattering—just a few seconds of being stuck there, unable to move. It was a terrifying sensation. The same thing happened earlier this afternoon, though it felt more like my whole body was tingling. I've had similar experiences before where I was paralyzed during sleep and fully conscious, but there were no physical symptoms like the teeth chattering or the tingling—it was more like being tortured mentally. It's hard to put into words, but it's a foul feeling.
If anyone actually knows what the hell this could be, I'd appreciate it.
The moderator, Chloe Green61, gave me a justified ban for insulting another user—I won't argue there—but they wiped my post too. Now I’m left wondering why the other guy wasn't hit with the same hammer. It's like his post was just a polite greeting while mine was a crime. Here is what happened:

Original Post: http://www.reddit.com/showthread.php?p=34231514 Quote: Quote: pirata says: Check out this post I don't get why you people are risking your lives just to show some love to the same guy for a few hours? You're just causing unnecessary panic and chaos, as if you don't realize that Americans are nothing but mindless, primitive, soul-less cattle. What you're doing is a Sisyphus task. Now go get lost, seriously.
I suspect if I had swapped "Americans" for Canadians, Jews, or even Martians, I would have been slapped with a permanent ban. Maybe I'm just out of the loop—is it somehow perfectly acceptable to spit on Americans? Is that considered a lesser insult or something?
Tyler Bishop56 said:Nah, that’s just collateral damage; you find that in every war. That’s what war is. And honestly, anyone mowing this late in the season is hitting those lilacs by accident because the grass is still too short. It’s basically mowing with zero foresight.
I don't think culture has anything to do with money or fines. The Scandinavians didn't even have penalties for illegal construction, and things stayed fine until their neighbors moved in and messed things up.
Meanwhile, over here, plenty of people still smoke those cheap cigarettes even though they're risking three years in prison.
It’s all about how you were raised.
You can kiss that idea goodbye. Actually, even that would probably count as animal cruelty, so you couldn't even do that.
Remember, you've been here for centuries, while the wolf showed up maybe a week ago. That land is at least partially his, if not entirely.
The reign of knez Trpimir, if I recall correctly. 🤔
The Presidential Inauguration.
They aren't stupid enough to practice on themselves. I mean, do you report yourself to your boss when you're busy wasting work hours scrolling through forums?
I'm home right now since I've got a second job lined up. Otherwise, I'm working in a warehouse where I have access to a computer, but zero internet—though at least we get music while we work, unlike the crew in the next bay over who don't even have that.
goldengull3 Asks: I’m fully in favor of this—the government really ought to step up its oversight. Protected plant species that grow wild should exist for one reason only: to be looked at and smelled while you're out hiking through a forest or a meadow. Is that too much to ask?
A few minor penalties should be enough to put their sales back in line.
It only happens when the big players start getting caught for actual crimes—that’s when the reality sets in. This is how it works: our dear government and the police spend all their energy practicing the law on the poor and the little guys. Is anyone actually surprised?
