Paul Pierce
over 18.5 points @ 1.85

I’m really feeling this pick because since Kevin Garnett is sitting this one out—which honestly sounds like a perfect chance for him to recharge before they face the Chicago Bulls tomorrow—someone else from the squad is going to have to step up and carry the load, and that falls right on Paul Pierce's shoulders. Pierce is basically the kind of guy who will hunt down a shot from pretty much anywhere on the court, especially those spot-up jumpers which make up about 19.3% of his game. That happens to be the exact Achilles' heel for today's opponents, the Detroit Pistons, who have been looking absolutely lost when trying to defend spot-ups, isolation plays, or even off-screen movement, which is usually Ray Allen's bread and butter. I can see Pierce getting plenty of looks from spot-up situations, but he'll likely tear it up in transition too, and Detroit is ranked 25th in defending that, which isn't great. Since KG isn't on the floor, expect Pierce to lean more heavily on working with Rajon Rondo through those pick-and-roll sets. Honestly, Detroit looks like a dream matchup for the Boston Celtics when you look at how the tactical pieces fit together for both offense and defense.
I'm expecting Paul Pierce to drop at least 20 points on us. ☕

Kevin Love, the Minnesota Timberwolves' big man in the paint, is staring down the Charlotte Bobcats tonight, and word on the street is DJ Augustin might be heading back into the rotation. This actually works out pretty nicely for us because if the game stays competitive instead of turning into a total blowout, we’re looking at a better chance of seeing less minutes for Love.
Last season, Love absolutely tore it up against the Bobcats, dropping a massive 35 points while being incredibly efficient from the floor (shooting 11-16 FG, 3-5 3PT, and an almost perfect 10-11 from the line). He should have a relatively smooth ride today too, since Charlotte's defense is pretty shaky when it comes to defending post-ups (#29), spot-ups (#28), and one of the Wolves' primary weapons, the pick-and-roll (#26).
Looking at the numbers, Kevin Love gets most of his looks from post-ups (22%), spot-ups (15.5%), offensive rebounds (14.5%), and the pick-and-roll (13.3%). Honestly, I just see him dominating here; I don't see how anyone stops his post-up game or his pick-and-roll action with Rubi, and he’ll likely rack up some easy put-backs since Charlotte isn't exactly known for being a rebounding powerhouse.

over 23,5 points @ 1,85

Kevin Martin, the starting shooting guard for Houston, is finding himself spending more and more time riding the pine lately as coach Kevin McHale experiments with different rotations. Just last night against Memphis, Martin only logged 19 minutes and went totally cold, finishing with zero points on three attempts. There's been some chatter about potential back issues, too, but regardless, tonight's matchup against Oklahoma is a tall order—they've got one of the stingiest backcourts in the league, with Russell Westbrook and Cook doing a stellar job defensively (especially with Sefolosh sidelined). When you break down Martin's shot selection, he relies heavily on isolation (22.1%), spot-ups (20%), transition buckets (17.4%), off-screen moves (15.3%), and acting as the ball handler in pick-and-rolls (11.6%). If you look at how Oklahoma defends those specific areas, they're tough across the board (ranking #2 against isolations, #15 against spot-ups, #19 in transition, #1 against off-screens, and #19 in pick-and-roll defense). Even though Martin put up 13 and 16 points against them in his last two outings with full minutes, now that the coach is messing with his playing time, the under feels like a really solid play to me. Good luck!

Nicholas Chase34 said:Denver - Phoenix
under 107.5 @ 1.85

I honestly feel like the oddsmakers went a bit overboard setting this line so high for Denver; if you look at their last five games, they’ve been averaging about 99.2 points, and they only managed to clear this specific mark once—that was against Indiana, where they just absolutely dominated the paint. Plus, Phoenix is giving up an average of 96.3 points and they've got a pretty stout interior defense, which is basically the bread and butter for the Nuggets' offense.
The Nuggets are missing Gallinari (17 PPG), Nene (13.4 PPG), and Mozgov (5.7 PPG).
Denver's offensive rhythm has definitely taken a hit without Gallinari, and when you factor in Nene being out too, trying to scrape together 108 points feels like a massive uphill battle.

Chicago - Sacramento
Sacramento +19.5 @ 1.3

The Bulls are still playing without Rose due to those nagging back issues, and while they're still a squad capable of winning, they aren't exactly blowing people out right now. I think the Kings are more than capable of keeping this within a reasonable margin and avoiding a blowout loss of 20 or more. Good luck!

☕

By a single basket🙂 🙂 Since the coach decided to sit Nash and Hill, the home team has played with way more energy, otherwise I really think this would have stayed under.

Nicholas Chase34 said:Kobe Bryant
pick: under 28.5 points @ 1.85 SS

Bryant is staring down a tough matchup tonight against Joe Johnson, who has been locking things down defensively, especially since the Hawks are currently ranked 5th in the league when it comes to points allowed at the SG position.
Bryant relies heavily on isolation plays—about a third of his shots come from there—as well as post-ups and playing the ball-handler in pick-and-rolls, but the Hawks are actually quite elite in those areas, particularly defending isolations (ranked #2), even if they're a bit weaker in the post (ranked #15). Hitting 29 points feels like a stretch for Bryant unless he's taking at least 25 to 30 shots and shooting incredibly efficiently. 🤣 In my eyes, a more realistic line for a game like this should be closer to 25.5 or 26.5, so I just have to take the under. ☕

Hold on, Bryant, you might blow past my line, but you'll probably just miss all the shots instead! 🤣

I totally get where you're coming from, I've seen those numbers too, but the sportsbook doesn't have the specific handicap for the Chicago Bulls game that I'm trying to pair up with my bet. 🙄

Kobe Bryant
pick: under 28.5 points @ 1.85 SS

Kobe Bryant is looking at a pretty tough matchup tonight against Joe Johnson, who’s been putting in some serious work on the defensive end lately. Plus, the Atlanta Hawks are currently sitting at 5th in the league when it comes to points allowed per Shooting Guard.
Since Kobe relies so heavily on isolation plays—we're talking about a third of his shots right there—along with post-ups and running the Pick and Roll as the ball-handler, he's running into a wall because the Hawks are actually elite in those areas, especially defending isolation where they rank #2, even if they are a bit softer in the post at #15. Honestly, hitting 29 points feels like a bit of a stretch for him unless he's pumping up the volume to at least 25-30 shots 🤣 while staying super efficient. For a game like this, I feel like the realistic ceiling should be closer to 25.5 or 26.5, so I just have to grab the under. ☕
NBA Betting: Vol. 2 in Betting Forum ·
The teams Jeremy Lin has been facing lately haven't really had much bite when it comes to transition defense, which let him just cruise right past them with that quickness of his. Now he’s heading out to face the Toronto Raptors, and those guys actually know how to get back and set up their defense pretty efficiently. On top of that, we've got Amar'e back in the mix, ready to tear things up in the Pick and Roll, which is an area where the Raptors' defense tends to show a little bit of weakness. 🤷

Denver Nuggets vs Phoenix Suns
under 107.5 @ 1.85

I honestly feel like the bookies went a bit overboard setting the line this high for Denver, especially since they've been averaging just about 99.2 points over their last five games and have only cleared this mark once—that was against the Indiana Pacers, where they absolutely dominated the paint. On the flip side, the Phoenix Suns are giving up around 96.3 points per game and they boast a pretty stout interior defense, which is usually the bread and butter for the Nuggets' offense.
Denver is currently dealing with some absences, missing Danilo Gallinari (17 PPG), Nene (13.4 PPG), and Timofey Mozgov (5.7 PPG).
With Gallinari out, Denver's offensive rhythm has definitely taken a hit, and losing Nene on top of that makes hitting that 108-point mark feel like quite an uphill battle.

Chicago Bulls vs Sacramento Kings
Sacramento Kings +19.5 @ 1.3

The Bulls are still playing without Derrick Rose due to those lingering back issues, and while they're still a squad capable of pulling off wins, they aren't exactly blowing people out right now. Because of that, I’m leaning towards the Kings being able to at least keep it within a reasonable margin and avoid getting blown out by 20+. GL!

It’s totally changing my life over here, honestly, but hey, as long as he was "right" and used such incredibly deep, philosophical reasoning to prove his point, right?☕

I actually just grabbed it right away at the standard line over at Pinnacle, which was way better anyway (1.990), but I really just wanted to point out how fast Supersport moves on their stuff. 🤣 🤷

SS absolutely crushed the under for Milwaukee - Miami within ten minutes of the lines even opening up. 🙂

I'm currently sniffing out a potential X @ 14,0 for the Golden State - Phoenix game, mostly because their playing styles clash so much that I wouldn't be shocked at all if we see that hit.

shadowgardener10 said:You definitely sold me on Utah. 😁

But hey, just tell me which of those other two you’d grab first if you were in my shoes? Honestly, I’m leaning toward Dallas myself, mostly because I can't stand betting those massive spreads; there's always that risk where a team up by a ton starts coasting in the fourth quarter and ends up failing to cover the spread even if they still win the game.

I'm pretty torn on picking one of them, both are sitting right there on my radar, though I'd give Philly a slight edge, plus I'm thinking about throwing some action on the over for the Dallas - LA Clippers game.

The thing that really caught my eye from the rest of the slate and is definitely going on my ticket is the under 200.5 for the Milwaukee - Miami Heat matchup, since that line feels at least five points higher than it should be, so I'm expecting the odds on the under to drop soon.
The Heat are definitely going to be looking for revenge after those two losses, and their only real path to victory is going to be locking things down on defense. 🤷

🤣 I'm still actually debating whether I should even list him on the injury report or not... because honestly, look at how New Orleans is playing right now, they're treating Kaman like he's some kind of superstar, and he even dropped 14 points against Utah (shooting 6-7 from the field) 😛
NBA Betting: Vol. 2 in Betting Forum ·
First bet:
New Orleans vs. Utah
Looking at the Utah spread at -3.5 with those 1.85 odds, I’m feeling pretty good about this one—definitely a solid SS pick for me, giving it an 8/10.
The Jazz are sitting at a -9.5 spread with the odds at 3.30, and honestly, looking at my SS model, I’m feeling pretty skeptical about this one—I'd give it maybe a 2/10 chance of hitting.

It’s basically the same situation we saw yesterday with Memphis—New Orleans just doesn't have anyone on the roster right now who can actually attack the rim or pick up those easy buckets in the paint. Their rotation feels incredibly thin at the moment, especially since they're dealing with a massive chunk of their key guys being sidelined with injuries, including Gordon, Jack, Landry, Smith, and Kaman.
This was their first time going head-to-head, and Utah managed to pull off a 94-90 win over New Orleans.
image

It looks like the New Orleans guys really struggled to attack the rim tonight; they only managed eight attempts in the paint despite being perfect from that close range, but the bigger issue was how much they leaned on the perimeter shot. Honestly, if it wasn't for the solid work from Jack, Kaman, and Smith keeping things relatively close, we probably would have been looking at a total blowout.
Since the New Orleans roster is looking pretty thin right now, I honestly don't see how they're going to hold their own against a Jazz team that's absolutely rolling. To me, this whole matchup feels like a total gift, and I’m definitely looking to grab both sides of it if possible. Even though Utah is dealing with that back-to-back situation, a realistic handicap should be at least 6.5 given how lopsided things look. Pinnacle actually has the line offline at the moment, and honestly, I wouldn't be shocked if they bring it back around at 5.5. ☕

I'm tossing one more matchup into the mix for us to look at:
Memphis Grizzlies vs Utah Jazz
Utah +5.5 @ 1.980 Pinnacle 6/10

When these two squads first faced off this season, the Utah Jazz walked away with a 94-85 win.
If you ask me, Utah holds the upper hand here because they’ve got a deeper rotation of guys who can really attack the rim effectively, especially compared to the Memphis Grizzlies, who are feeling pretty limited in that department without Zach Randolph in the lineup.
image

Looking at the numbers, Utah managed to grab a massive 16-point advantage in the paint during that first meeting, which is a huge deal.
This season, Utah has been doing a killer job protecting the area under the basket—they're actually ranked #3 in the league—only allowing opponents to hit about 20.8 shots at a 67.4% clip.
The only real catch is that Utah tends to struggle a bit more when they're playing on the road; otherwise, I'd probably just take them straight up to win. But honestly, I think the "edge" Utah has inside should be plenty enough to cover the spread. 🤷
NBA Betting: Vol. 2 in Betting Forum ·
Man, my Dallas and the Minnesota Timberwolves—it’s crazy how much it comes down to just one single basket 😠

------------------------------------
Al Jefferson is currently leading the charge for the Utah Jazz, putting up an average of 18.6 points per game. Tonight, he’s heading out to face the Memphis Grizzlies, where his career average sits at about 15.2 points. He’s going to have to deal with Marc Gasol, who is easily one of the elite defensive big men in the league. Memphis has been absolutely locking things down in the paint; their interior defense is their biggest strength and they've been consistently solid there for several seasons now. Historically, Jefferson tends to struggle a bit more when he's playing on the road, which shows in his away average of 17 points. Last season, he actually had his toughest matchup against Memphis, averaging just 12.8 points—his lowest output against any team (12, 11, 16, 12). He did manage to drop 20 points (9-18 FG) against them earlier this season at home, but looking at the full picture, I think it'll be a tough climb for him to clear this line, especially with the road factor in play. So, I'm leaning towards the under 18.5. GL!
Al Jefferson

The Indiana Pacers got absolutely shredded in the paint; letting up 44 shots at the rim is just straight-up catastrophic 😲

I’ve got my eye on another one, specifically the total points for the Minnesota vs New York game. That line at 196.5 feels a bit inflated to me, especially since both squads were out there grinding just yesterday. Looking at the numbers, New York has only hit the over once in their last eight back-to-back situations—and honestly, that was only after an overtime thriller against the Denver Nuggets where they racked up 37 points.
Right now, New York is actually leading the entire NBA league when it comes to playing under, sitting at an O/U ratio of 8-19 (70.4%), while Minnesota is hovering slightly lower at 11-15 (57.7%). Because of that, I just can't pass up this bet; in my opinion, the spread is about 5 points higher than where it ought to be. Good luck everyone!
Minnesota vs New York Knicks

So, I won't beat around the bush—the main reason I’m eyeing this pick is pretty much because Portland is struggling big time on the road, sitting at a shaky 4-9 away from home, especially when they have to deal with those back-to-back stretches where they've been a disastrous 1-6 against the spread. On the flip side, the Dallas Mavericks handle that heavy schedule way more effectively, coming out 4-1 ATS in their recent back-to-backs.
Looking back, these two squads went head-to-head in the playoffs last season, and Dallas walked away with the series win, 4-2. When they played at home against Portland, Dallas made it look easy, covering the spread in every single matchup. Portland's game against New Orleans last night really highlighted their struggles on the road; they were all over the place, even finding themselves down by 4 at halftime against a New Orleans squad that was actually playing without a few of their key guys. Meanwhile, Dirk Nowitzki has been absolutely heating up lately, dropping 25 and 33 points in his last two outings. All things considered, Dallas is a tough nut to crack at home, they've found their rhythm, and honestly, I’d be shocked if Portland pulled anything positive here since they've dropped games to much weaker teams than Dallas. I actually think the line could move up to -5.5, so getting Dallas at 2.01 feels like a solid value play to me. Good luck!
Dallas Mavericks - Portland Trailblazers

Nicholas Chase34 said:Honestly, this feels like one of my best picks of the day, maybe even the week, because when I look at this matchup, I see nothing but a win for Detroit, and I've got some pretty solid reasons why. These two squads have already faced off twice this year and they're sitting at 1-1 right now. In their first meeting, the New Jersey home crowd watched them take it 99-96, but then Detroit went out and grabbed an away victory just two days ago 92-99. Plus, Detroit has Ben Gordon back in the mix after being sidelined for about a month; he looked sharp coming back against the Nets with 14 points on 6-7 shooting, so he should definitely help spice up that offense. On the injury front, Detroit is looking pretty healthy—just Charlie Villanueva, who hasn't really been part of the rotation all season anyway—whereas the Nets are basically playing with half a roster. They’ve got Lopez (out since the start of the season), Bogans, Okur, Stevenson, Brooks, and LeBron James all on the injury report. That is a massive list that includes three starters, leaving the Nets' depth looking incredibly thin. It's mostly going to fall on the shoulders of Deron Williams, Morrow, and Humphries, while the rest of the bench is, frankly, pretty lackluster. Let's dive into their previous matchups and why I think this is such a juicy bet.

The biggest edge, and honestly the deciding factor, is how Detroit dominates the paint by getting those easy layups and dunks. If you check the stats over at hoopdata.com, Detroit racked up 76 field goals (38-59) right at the rim during their last two meetings, compared to just 44 for the Nets (21-40), which is a huge gap. New Jersey relies way too much on perimeter shooting, mid-range jumpers, and threes because they just don't have anyone to bully people inside. Their only real interior threats are Humphries and Serena Williams, and Detroit already has a plan to shut them down. If the Pistons can just keep the Nets from finding their rhythm from deep, the home team should cruise to a very comfortable win—I wouldn't be surprised if it's a double-digit blowout. Good luck! ☕

FT 109-92 🙂 It was actually a 30-point lead at one point, but this works too 😁

Sean Sullivan87 said:Something's bugging me... you laid everything out so clearly, and I've decided to follow your lead on this, but I'm just not following the math. SS and all the other sportsbooks have all this same info, yet they're still offering odds of 1.75. 🤷It doesn't make any sense; there's gotta be something fishy going on here. Bookmakers aren't stupid—based on this breakdown, betting on Detroit at 1.40 would be a total gift, so why is it sitting at 1.75?😲

You know, the oddsmakers and bookies were definitely looking at the current standings and how strong these rosters seemed, but they completely missed that specific edge the Detroit Pistons had going for them. That little detail is exactly what makes Detroit such a massive favorite here, and since there wasn't some sudden injury or anything crazy to worry about, the Vegas lines had absolutely no reason to drop those odds.
image
That’s the exact advantage I was talking about, and it’s the reason Detroit managed to pull off such a convincing win (46 points at the rim compared to just 24 from the Nets). 👍 ☕
