That printer is actually a beast when it comes to cost-per-page. The Radeon HD 4770 and anything stronger will definitely need a dedicated power connector.

If you absolutely insist on an Nvidia card without needing a connector, then you're looking at the 9500, but honestly, that's hardly a gaming card.
If you're prioritizing gaming, silence isn't such a huge deal, and neither is having a massive array of rear connectors.

Actually, based on your budget, the 4670 fits better. There are plenty of them out there with all sorts of different cooling setups, memory capacities, and memory types.
So, the price range goes from $150 (starting with the basic 4670 ddr3) up to $250 for the high-end versions.
The 4670 is solid for gaming, provided you don't push the resolution or settings too high; it handles older titles on max settings without breaking a sweat. Power draw is low, so any decent power supply can handle it. Drivers are fine, and there's pretty good potential for Overclocked performance...
I’ve got the exact same printer. It works perfectly for me. ------------- Maybe try plugging it into a different computer? That way you can figure out if the issue is actually the hardware or just your PC.

Try wiping the drivers and uninstalling the printer entirely...
Once that's done, power the printer on and plug the USB cable back into your computer. It should recognize the device and prompt you for new drivers. Just install those fresh ones and you should be good to go.
The 3870 performs roughly on par with today's 4670—honestly, thanks to the memes, maybe even better.
If you run dual 3870s in CrossFire, you'll see a performance bump. Theoretically, you're looking at double the power, though in practice, it rarely hits that mark. That’s great news. It can be tricky, though—mixing different memory brands sometimes leads to compatibility issues, which can slow things down or even crash the whole system.
Congrats to the Danes, but I can't say the same for us today. They just had the edge, mostly thanks to their keeper. Honestly, a 24:23 score would have been a much more realistic outcome.
