Kyle Edwards5 said:It looks like we’ve officially entered a new era where Mercedes isn't sitting at the top of the mileage charts during testing...

Ferrari: 828.6
Mercedes: 824
Toro Rosso: 814.6
Williams: 810
Red Bull: 800.7
Renault: 763.4
Sauber: 670.4
Force India: 470.1
Haas: 423.6
McLaren 409.6

I realize we're still in the early stages here, but I've gotta say, Sauber's numbers are a bit of a letdown. They just don't look convincing to me...

Toro Rosso is putting up miles like they're running a Mercedes engine—ridiculous.

And McLaren? They went from being a legitimate powerhouse to basically a punching bag.

Even Williams hasn't sunk this low.

Total joke of a team.

mellowtiger83 said:The track is undeniably fast and lacks any significant rubber buildup. Hul mentioned quite clearly that the circuit feels smooth now; those corners where drivers used to have to be cautious because of bumps? They’re going flat out now.

And that is all happening with temperatures sitting at 6°C, which is basically useless for getting tires up to temperature.

So, the asphalt is quick, there's more grip, and the bumps are gone. It really makes modern racing look absurd when you consider the sheer capability of these cars compared to the state of the tracks.

Kid, we learned this ages ago—lap times during winter testing don't mean squat. It's just a tally of laps driven. That's the only metric that actually matters.

It's Ford's fault 😬

Anyway, how's my AlphaTauri looking?
Haven't had a chance to suffer through anything today—did the engine blow up or is it actually running? 🤷

Running like clockwork—dead on.

With the McLaren-Honda combo, the only real issue was Honda.

McLaren is basically heading straight for a total meltdown.

I mean, we're talking about a crew that hasn't even smelled a Constructors' Championship in twenty years.

Jordan’s got way more chance at the title than McLaren—and they aren't even in F1.

As for AlphaTauri—don't expect small gains, we're talking massive results here. I actually went out on a limb today and called Brandon Hartley a World champion—and honestly? I stand by it!

mellowtiger83 said:The new surface is smooth and refined. The track lacks those characteristic bumps in certain sections, making it likely a significantly faster base overall—though providing an exact assessment is quite difficult.

Fresh pavement has zero grip, though. So yeah, it's actually slower right now—and it stays slow until the tires actually bite into it.

mellowtiger83 said:I am perfectly aware of what Caster and Camber are, and I know my way around just about every serious racing simulator out there.

Every single suspension setup involves Caster and Camber.

Give me a break, man.

You were too cheap to even drop $150 a year for an iRacing subscription, so you just stuck to the free stuff.

Buying the full iRacing library will run you about $2,000. A decent rig to actually run a sim properly? Another $2,000. A solid wheel setup is probably around $667. Then you’d need a triple monitor setup... plus telemetry software... Get it? You’re just too broke to get serious about sim racing.

James Harris34 said:Ford looks great with that new livery, but looking good doesn't mean they're actually the fastest car on the grid. They’ll need to be totally dominant, similar to how things were back in 2002 or 2004, if Lewis Hamilton is going to pull off a championship win in it.

Yeah, sure—laugh it up. It's always the absolute clowns who start celebrating a Ferrari championship before preseason testing even kicks off just because they like the paint job.

What kind of suspension is this even supposed to be? What on earth are we looking at here? 🤔

It's called caster

Basically just pushing the wheel forward

I have seriously never been this hyped—or impatient—to see the NASCAR season kick off

mellowtiger83 said:What are you even talking about? Whether you call them Alfa Romeo or Sauber, they are running the latest spec Ferrari engines. Therefore, Alfa Romeo is using their own power units. Ferrari is part of the Fiat group, and Fiat has its hands deep inside that engine design. You could quite literally say Alfa Romeo uses their own engine because Alfa Romeo and Ferrari are essentially one and the same. Razmes ????

If we are going to dig into the deep history, Alfa Romeo and Ferrari are one entity; Ferrari was born out of Alfa Romeo!!.

Fiat, Fiat, and nothing but Fiat built that PU. Just shove that into your fucking heads. If Fiat tells Ferrari to do something, they have to do it. Do you people understand me? For God's sake.

Obviously.

Finally, a single brain cell showing up among this sea of racing illiterate idiots.

All hail the GOAT. The absolute legend who practically invented the perfect racing line.

mellowtiger83 said:Marcus Ericsson! A driver who actually has experience under his belt.

I almost forgot—Charles Leclerc is going to absolutely embarrass Ericsson in qualifying. Leclerc is quite simply a qualifying specialist.

Leclerc has managed to secure wins and pole positions in just about every series he’s ever entered, from his early days in karting right through to now.
In fact, Leclerc finished just behind—get this—Max Verstappen in the World Karting Championship. And we all know the level of engine support and sheer privilege Max had in that category of motorsport.

Leclerc is a driving phenomenon. Mark my words. You are witnessing pure driving genius; you are witnessing the birth of a superstar. Consider yourselves lucky.

Where did Giovanni go? I actually liked his vibe.

mellowtiger83 said:Let’s set aside the car and the designers for a moment; the guys at Alfa Romeo Sauber are getting this:

, this kid is an absolute phenomenon. During his debut season in F2, he completely dismantled the competition. Go ahead, try to name even one other driver in history who pulled that off.

If my memory serves me—and I'm fairly certain it does—we're looking at 7 wins, 8 pole positions, 9 podiums, and 3 fastest laps all within a single rookie season.

A total outsider is entering Formula 1, and I am convinced he will utterly embarrass his teammate during his first year on the grid.

Who even is his teammate? Wake up, man. You're dreaming.

Jason Campbell70 said:How many more points did Red Bull Racing rack up compared to the factory Renault team?

mellowtiger83 Asks:
And why exactly do you think Newey is invincible? Why assume he’s the absolute best?
What a joke! We're paying premium prices for this? There are at least two designers in Formula 1 right now who are on Adrian Newey's level. At least two!

Is he unbeatable? No, he isn't.
Is Formula 1 really that crowded with the same geniuses who have been designing winning cars for thirty years? Not exactly.

Yeah, I said factory-backed.
