The guys managed to pack so much into a two-and-a-half-minute window, creating this creative, original soundscape with simple, almost Dadaist lyrics and a clear message... plus, they just brought the energy and kept things fun with their jokes! And honestly, isn't this way better than the total sob stories we've been sending to the Eurovision Song Contest for the last few decades? This thing became infectious for everyone—kids and adults alike. You have to admit, foreigners are out there humming along to a language they don't even understand. It's just really, really well-made.
Just the other day, people at a bookstore in New York City were greeting us with "The EU!" I mean, even my mom, who's over sixty and definitely doesn't have an ear for this kind of music, told me she can't stop humming 😁 and that she's actually having a blast with it, even if the performance and the lyrics shocked her at first... It’s nice to remember some of those legendary old-school laughs that were perfect for the moment:
I still haven't gotten around to replying to what you said earlier about this movie , but hopefully we'll get to see it soon and talk about it... 😉 In the meantime, I realized I watched his 'Virgin Mary' last summer and it was honestly stunning. Almost as good as his earlier film 'The Reconquest' (featuring the same lead actress), which was just a total letdown in every possible way. He can definitely do better.

Man, Jamie Davis9, I feel you. My job situation shifted because they had to clear out my department at the university, though everything is still up in the air. For the last year, I’ve been stuck playing one of those tiny cogs, basically just drafting renovation blueprints. We see it firsthand—everything in this country moves at a snail's pace. It would be a total disaster if the deadline to use those federal grants was that first date they set. And honestly, it's not even a question of whether it'll be a fiasco by next June... maybe just a slightly smaller one... 👎
