I just prefer things to be organized and systematic here... all this feels pretty unnecessary to me.

Amanda Robinson4 and I were actually just praising you for being so active over the last few weeks...
I don't know, maybe just slow down a bit. Grab a Budweiser, relax this weekend, and everything will be fine!
🙂

brightwolf48 said:What do I have to do to you or Amanda Robinson to finally get my cut? We already agreed we were putting the leftovers aside.😁

brightwolf48 said:What are you even talking about? You're rambling on about nothing.🤦 Long live the placenta!

You started this. I can either keep going or just wipe the whole thing out. Your call.

I think this is going to be my last one... because these posts honestly feel pointless.

🤣

brightwolf48 said:The album threads are actually thriving with discussion, starting with you and everyone else. You haven't exactly left more than two posts about that whole "snowflakes crying over art" thing. It’s not exactly hard for you to suggest Nica, Doors, or whatever...

And look, I do jump into certain threads regularly, just as much as my current schedule allows.
The discussions on specific bands have been pretty active—solid debates, decent amount of posts.

Or are you talking about your own threads specifically? Maybe the issue is just that your intros are boring... 😁

I don't get why you're being such a jerk; it feels like you just came here to vent. I'm moving all of this to the chat because you're cluttering up the main feed with pointless suggestions. If you need to blow off steam, go ahead and do it there, but let people here suggest and listen to the albums they actually like without dumping your frustrations on us. There's a sub-forum for that.
Album of the week in Music ·
I can see we've got some new top-tier recommenders and listeners joining in; the thread is really picking up.

And what am I supposed to tell you? Just wipe it however you want, with or without the mess.😁
Besides, why are you guys even looking for that kind of partiality? I mean, you can't just get that easily...

Maybe try practicing some self-control. Post if you feel like it. Or don't. Some days are just like that.

Well, Dennis Hall41 loves a bit of drama too, just in his own special way! But honestly, there are plenty of others just like him. 😁

Are you on your period again or something? I honestly don't get what the issue is here, or even what the point is.

Popol Vuh - Tantric Songs / Hosianna Mantra (1991)
It’s two albums packed into one release, but honestly, I’d suggest listening to them as a single unit.

Popol Vuh were basically pioneers of ambient music. Florian Fricke was definitely one of the most underrated Krautrock artists out there. Back in '72 they dropped 'Hosianna Mantra,' then followed up with 'Tantric Songs' in '79. Both are huge pieces of the American electronic avant-garde scene, heavily blended with traditions from places like Eastern Europe, the Far East, Africa, and South America. But I wonder—do these tracks actually sound fifty years old, or do they feel brand new? Is it meditation or religious music? Maybe it's just a mix of the ancient and the modern? Or maybe it’s just timeless. I guess you'll have to decide for yourself...

Tracklist:

Tantric Songs

1 Mantra Of The Touching Of The Earth 2:16
2 Mantra Of The Touching Of The Heart 1:49
3 Angel Of The Air, Part One 2:39
4 Angel Of The Air, Part Two 2:56
5 In The Realm Of Shadow 2:13
6 Wanderer Through The Night 4:09
7 Listen He Who Ventures 5:58
8 Brothers Of Darkness - Sons Of Light 16:42

Hosianna Mantra

9 Ah! 4:46
10 Kyrie 5:25
11 Hosianna · Mantra 10:17
12 Departure 3:13
13 Blessing 6:09
14 Devotion I 0:45
15 not high in Heaven 6:23
16 Devotion II 0:45

Gerald Jackson48 said:She’s even got that ‘Flying Beagle’ album, so you never know what you might get. 😳

😍
Sold! I'll give that one a spin tonight too, even though the last suggestion wasn't really my thing.

Alright, I fixed it. 🙂 I’ll probably drop a new poll soon too.

I really love that album—it definitely speaks to me.
I guess I'm just crossing my fingers that it actually takes off...

Hey everyone, much to my disappointment, I’m actually unable to write the intro this time.
So then... analogbear40’s offer is still on the table, if he actually wanted to take over Šarlo!
🙂

Or, honestly, any of the regulars who actually voted for this album.
Basically, whoever was first: Dennis Hall41, Charles Ramos, or Amanda Robinson4, can someone jump in here?
🙂

Just please, anyone but Dennis Martin6.

I'll let my buddy analogbear40 handle the intro, but here’s my take on this record. Just in case most of you guys actually want to give it a listen.

Tell me I'm not crazy, isn't this just one of those old-school, magically great records...
😍

plus the whole album just gets better and better the more you spin it.
definitely one of the highlights from last (amazing) year...

man, she's just such a cool woman. 😍

Dennis Hall41 said:Dennis Martin6, don't take this personally, but is there anything you actually love from the heart?

Does any music touch you like that? If so, what, for example?

Dennis Hall41 said:Do I really need to point out that you weren't trying to dispute my take on Dennis Martin6's suggestion?😁

Well, I have to say, you ask a lot of interesting questions. 😁

To me, Dennis Martin6's album choice felt more like... I don't know, a physical thing, like cardio... rather than something that hits the heart the way you seem to think it does. But his reasoning is interesting, so maybe I'll give it another spin.

Dennis Hall41, you might actually dig Microphone , if you haven't heard it yet. For some reason, being asked about this week's suggestion reminded me of that album. It ranked pretty high on the charts last year, and they actually share one similarity... that very repetitive structure that carries through the whole record. Even though they're totally different...

I'm in on this. General Clark is just incredible. Thanks, Dennis Hall41!

Leb i sol - Kao kakao (1987)

image

So, it’s 1987, and a major American label releases the ninth studio album from the Mexican group Leb i sol. With this release, they really shifted things up—both in terms of their sound and their instrumental approach. It basically dives into urban life, love, midlife crises, and loneliness. I think it’s one of their most successful records, packed with hits like 'Skopje', 'Drunken People', the title track 'Kao kakao'... and finally 'I Guard the Night from the Wakeful'. This is also the first time Stefanovski takes full creative control. Also, the brothers Vlatko and Goran wrote all the songs; only the lyrics for 'Femme Fatale' were penned by Arsen Dedic.

Now, honestly, I don't know much about this album, even though I pretty much like it. But, I know one of our guys here absolutely loves it and probably knows every single detail! So, I’m throwing down a challenge: if this gets picked, I want him to write the intro.
