Windows 7

Most of the "experts" are just complaining about it. 😬 Luckily, there aren't that many of them around. 🙂

I'm not going to be a slave to Windows; they should work for me. I've been burned by them way too many times already, and I've had enough. It’s not like I claim to know everything, but after maybe 15 years in this field, I know enough. I just haven't had much luck with Windows lately—it seems like there's always some kind of mess to deal with.

neonmaker12 said:@ ironcanyon9, then you might need to switch to 64-bit, since 32-bit is capped at 3GB.
Regarding that blurry image, I guess you should upscale it before looking...
I'm comparing it to my laptop right now; that's running XP, and even on sites like CNN, which looks grayish there, mine leans more blue... and sharper.
I cranked the contrast up on my Dell Monitor to the max and got a sharp image, but it made certain parts—like the light blue on Facebook—just turn pure white.

redsailor16 said:Hey everyone, the full version of 7 is out... I grabbed mine after a few days... obviously an illegal copy... I'm not crazy enough to pay for it... ugh... what do you guys think? I'm seriously considering putting it on my laptop, which came with Vista... which is, to put it mildly, garbage.

The thing is, it isn't just happening with torrents; it's popping up in other apps too... 🙂
I'm pretty tied up right now. I'll probably get something set up by tomorrow, take some screenshots, and then we can figure it out.
Steven Hayes80 said:I couldn't just stay quiet about this. Windows 7 has been such a massive letdown that I'm still processing it.
I tested everything from the beta builds to the 64-bit version back when they were actually available for download.
Things weren't exactly smooth, but I figured they'd iron out the kinks by the time the final version dropped.
Well, here we are. Windows 7 Ultimate.
The installation itself was fine, I guess.
I was actually surprised that all the drivers were easy enough to grab online.
The headaches started with Firefox. It runs painfully slow—almost pathetic, really.
Tried Opera instead. It works, though it feels a bit weird. Anyway, moving on.
Nero, Winamp, and uTorrent all installed, but nothing works right. uTorrent keeps cutting off my downloads for no reason and throwing these vague errors. Something about files being unable to finish downloading because they're "in use."
Then the whole system just freezes up randomly, even with only one program open.
Then it loses the Wi-Fi password. And so on...
Just for context, I'm running a Pentium 4 with 4GB of RAM and a 256MB graphics card.
To wrap this up: if I had to choose between Windows Vista and Windows 7, I'd pick Vista. At least it functions.
Just kidding!
I'm wiping Windows and moving to Linux.
Ubuntu.
Goodbye, Microsoft. Screw this...
Later everyone.

If it’s the Alt+Tab combo...
