And what exactly is that? 😕
Why am I always getting sick? in Health ·
I’ve come to a realization—call it my own little theory if you will. It seems everything that tastes absolutely revolting is actually good for you, while the stuff that actually tastes delicious is usually junk. 😁
Anyone else on the same page? hehe

You’re actually pretty entertaining. Why kill yourself over this when you clearly have such a subtle sense of humor? Just find yourself a crew and sip on something until the early hours of the morning... stay chill.

mistyseal11 said:Honestly, life is just getting way too monotonous and I’ve got zero motivation to actually get moving.

I’m basically living in total isolation here.

I find myself walking out onto the balcony—since I can still move around, at least—just threatening to jump.

I just need something, anything, to spark some kind of reaction, and I’m dying to know what that might be.

Look, I don't actually want to die; I’d just be faking it.
I just really need someone to look out for me, to show even a tiny bit of care
and for something, I don't know, to actually fucking happen...

Will I just get wiped out, or will I actually get a little attention
and maybe some various pills?

edit: I've got good health insurance.🙂

Not again, dear D.
Why on earth are you having these thoughts??
How do I get started with these changes? in Psychology ·
This year, I decided that for the New Year, I’m simply not making any resolutions at all! 😂
Aches and pains everywhere... in Health ·
It’s honestly terrifying—that sensation where you just can't catch your breath until the episode passes. I had an episode once that lasted about two or three minutes. I genuinely thought I was going to pass out... from the sheer lack of oxygen 😂
Aches and pains everywhere... in Health ·
I’ve had something similar happen to me, though only three or four times in my life—and I’m only 20, so there’s still plenty of time for 😬. Usually, what helps is trying to breathe through it... just exhale, then inhale. Slow and deep.
I suspect it’s a lung issue.
Maybe someone would find some twisted sense of purpose if they were shot in the leg, left with a few scraps of food, and hit with sepsis until the limb had to be amputated... forcing them to spend the rest of their lives dragging themselves along without a leg.

What do I know?
I just think some people fail to see the bigger picture.
gentletiger20 said:And honestly, both sides of the coin are just as fleeting when you look at the vastness of the universe... life for a butterfly is basically the same countdown as it is for a human.

Anyway, all this talk about illnesses and whatever else... I mean, what's even the point? Obviously, if some disaster hits—God forbid—you’d have to adapt to a "new normal" just to survive. But that doesn't change the fact that right now, given how things are, you can just be totally indifferent toward life and the future as a concept. How your emotions shift over time? Who knows... we'll just have to wait and see.

Me? I’ve been successfully keeping my emotions on a flatline for a long while now. I’ve already cycled through those phases of pure nihilism and wanting to throw in the towel on life entirely. Now, I’m just chill. Almost like James Bond.

The only thing is, a butterfly won't live long enough to hit 75 and ask, "Man, where did my youth go?" since its entire existence is basically one single season, if it's lucky. ☕

Plus, we have to deal with memory, conscience, and all that other nonsense. It would be a blessing if we were butterflies or even just ordinary dogs... though even then, it wouldn't be simple.
Once you cross 40, the midlife crisis hits you hard... and don't even get me started on 50. We've all seen what happened to Madonna. By 70, you're practically a ghost, and when you try to recall your 20s through the fog, you'll find two things: either a hazy memory of a wild night out with good friends, or just the memory of staring at a crappy computer screen with your fingers tapping away at a keyboard. 👎
Heart? Or something else? :S in Health ·
So, from what I’ve gathered so far, everyone dealing with heart issues seems to deal with pretty much the same symptoms—chest pain, shortness of breath, and things like that. I knew a girl back in high school who had similar issues; she wasn't allowed to run track with everyone else and had to stay on medication. And there was this guy who dealt with high blood pressure or something similar, and he also had to be extra careful about his lifestyle.

Basically, if you have a murmur, you’ll likely need to take more precautions.

Once you get your referral and finish the checkup, your doctor will give you a much clearer, more detailed picture of what's going on. Honestly, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Anthony Wilson4 said:Regarding your immune system, I’d actually suggest leaning into natural remedies rather than relying on those various pills from big pharmaceutical companies. Stick to freshly squeezed orange juice—hand-pressed, obviously. If you can manage it, toss in a lemon too. Garlic, bacon, propolis... there’s plenty of stuff like that out there that really works.

I would also recommend getting an allergy test. It doesn't matter if you just had one recently; I once had two tests within ten days. The first showed absolutely nothing, but the second flagged quite a few triggers.

It’s rare to see someone suggesting natural alternatives over tablets here. Usually, people argue that home remedies or juices aren't nearly as effective as modern medicine and those high-priced vitamins from places like CVS $100. I actually agree with you. Kudos to you!

To add to the OP's point... you simply need to eat enough. Make sure you're having three meals a day. Don't skip them. Plus, following what Anthony Wilson4 suggested, try making a tea from red onion. Just slice up some unpeeled onions—ideally organic ones, since many winter varieties are treated with chemical sprays to prevent sprouting or something similar:
"White and red onions are excellent natural decongestants, so onion tea should help with a stuffy nose. Boil 4-5 large onions in 2 liters of water with 3/4 cup of honey. Let it simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Take it as often as needed. Drink it warm."

LINK
Do a bit more research online regarding alternative therapies, boosting immunity, and things of that nature.

Also, cut back on all added sugars; they basically poison the body in every way. Eat plenty of lemons. Try at least two a day, or drink lemon juice, as it’s a powerful antioxidant with incredible properties. Switch out caffeinated drinks for green tea. You could also incorporate a little spice—black pepper, cayenne, or even a decent shot of bourbon, though I don't know how much that suits you or if you should be consuming it at all. Use your own judgment.

Physical activity is non-negotiable; without it, none of this matters.
Spend less time sitting in front of a computer or the TV, even if it's snowing outside and the temperature hits zero.

Watch your hygiene. For your mouth, you can use something like Octenisept to rinse (my doctor recommended it when I was dealing with canker sores and gum inflammation; it’s available at pharmacies like Walgreens for about $10, no prescription needed) - LINK.

Stress is a nasty thing, and you have to manage it properly so it doesn't continue causing health issues. Try taking small steps and start with the "holy trinity"—onion (white or red), honey, and lemon. 👍

electriccyclist15 said:Good concept, but it was executed so sloppily with all these annoying directing gimmicks that would probably only impress some 16-year-old kid obsessed with video games. And when the villain started doing that whole dance number, I was just like, WTF?

Yeah, agreed. That was a bizarrely unnecessary addition. 😲
But there’s a significant distinction here: you aren't a butterfly. ☕

Rachel Allen57 said:I don't need to eat, but once I'm full—I just keep going. A little more, then a little more, until I feel so sick I want to throw up. It leaves me feeling completely unsatisfied and depressed. How do I deal with this? How do I stop? Any experiences you can share?

I struggle with constant cravings too. The problem is, nothing actually tastes good anymore; it’s like I’ve become impossibly picky. I have the urge to eat everything, but the moment I see what’s available, I lose all interest. I can easily spend an hour just standing there, staring blankly into an open fridge, totally lost on what to grab.

Try replacing that addiction with something else—something less destructive that can capture your focus. If you can meet up with friends for coffee, go do that. Don't just sit at home; staying stationary triggers that exact same impulse for me.

Caught it the other night. It’s not bad, really. It gives you something to chew on for a bit, though it doesn't quite blow your mind. 7/10 😁
Common Cold in Health ·
So, tell me—how often are you getting moving these days? I mean, actual physical activity and all that.
I used to struggle with the exact same issues you’re dealing with. Eventually, I started being more active and swapped out the sugary drinks for sugar-free lemonades... and it felt like my immune system finally leveled up.
I went from catching a cold twice a month to maybe twice a year.😍
Common Cold in Health ·
I don't smoke much—maybe two or three cigarettes a day at most.
As for the central heating... yeah, you've got a point there. It's absolutely stifling, and I'm not even allowed to crack a window open. 🙄
And I really don't have any stomach issues. My digestion is perfectly fine.
Common Cold in Health ·
Here we go. Bringing this topic back from the dead since cold season is officially upon us! 😁

My throat was killing me this morning, and by the end of the day, I was convinced the classic flu symptoms were moving in.
Thankfully, I managed to load up on garlic in the meantime.
Now, as evening rolls around, I’m settling in with some hot soup loaded with pepper.

It honestly seems like these remedies actually work. 🎉

That said, can anyone explain why my throat usually stings right when I wake up, but the second I take a sip of hot tea (or coffee), the pain vanishes?
Is it actually possible that the heat just flushes those nasty bacteria down into the esophagus?
Btw, I am a smoker.

Good grief, what is there even to argue about!
The very same people you're attacking are the ones who will be treating you tomorrow!
It’s not like they're some fringe group of voyeurs!
Instead of being glad that we actually have smart young people wanting to become doctors, you're all just sitting here tearing each other apart.
We aren't living in the Middle Ages where a bit of skin is considered a taboo subject.
Get a grip! 🙄
