I really don't want to!
Reddit psychology in Psychology ·
Is this just a personal vendetta?
I’m curious—how does it feel when you realize someone is essentially stalking your threads just to drop snarky comments? They seem to be waiting around for every single thing you post, just so they can jump in and try to take you down a notch. Has anyone else dealt with this?
What is actually wrong with people like that? What kind of twisted hobby is it to fixate on someone, track their posts, and constantly tear them down when you don't even know them in real life and likely never will?
Could there be a connection to that psychological phenomenon where you can't stand someone in your actual life, so you project those traits onto a stranger online? You decide they remind you of that one person, and then you lash out at them as a way to vent all the pent-up frustration you've been suppressing from dealing with that person in reality—someone you're forced to tolerate far beyond your breaking point.
It happened to me once in a specific thread. I didn't like their posts or their perspective, and I realized I was subconsciously linking them to someone I know personally. I got so caught up in the urge to discredit them that I was practically hovering over my keyboard, waiting for their next post just so I could "put them in their place." Eventually, other users pointed out how aggressive I was being, and I had to admit I was overdoing it.
What are your thoughts on this? 😕
What to do when he's blowing you off... in Psychology ·
You have no one to blame but yourself. If things were already that bad, why didn't you just end the relationship?

Kudos. I'm right there with you. Just last month, my aunt and uncle were practically badgering me to see a doctor. I didn't go, but I told them I did. When I got back, they started grilling me about what kind of pills she prescribed 😵. I remember once she gave me something mild, and they were genuinely baffled why she didn't just throw a heavy-duty antibiotic at me. I can't stand it when people think they know more than a medical professional 😠
. That’s why I don’t listen to their advice anymore. Their understanding of medicine and the common cold is about as deep as their knowledge of the moons of Jupiter. Actually, it's worse—they can't even distinguish between a virus and bacteria. There's zero logic involved, so when I point out that antibiotics won't fix a viral cold, they act like I'm speaking another language!

On another note, my boyfriend has been dealing with constant mucus coughing for over a year now. It’s intermittent, but it looks pretty rough. It’s likely chronic sinusitis, right?? Is that something that could be cleared up with steam inhalation—maybe using sage tea 3 or 4 times a day—or should I just force him to see a doctor?
Common Cold in Health ·
Someone mentioned to me that you shouldn't try treating sinus inflammation with inhalation unless a doctor is supervising, because it might actually make the inflammation worse. But then I just saw on the Walgreens website that inhalation is recommended for sinus relief. So, what's the actual truth here?

People aren't inherently good or bad—you find all sorts depending on the circumstances (both inside and out).

Exactly. ☕

I still can't get over how much everyone is obsessing over this. It’s like we’re watching history unfold in real-time, yet half the people discussing it seem completely disconnected from the reality of the situation. We need to stay grounded. kaže:
The most accurate definition in existence. 👍 I’m asking this because I’m certain there are people out there who define a "good person" simply as someone who doesn't do anything bad. But in my view, that's a pretty low bar—it isn't enough to truly qualify.
Not exactly. It’s hard to draw any firm conclusions yet. 🙄

I saw it. The font is a bit smaller than I expected, but it doesn't bother me. Thanks. 😘
How does a man decide to become an OB-GYN? in Women's Health ·
I’ve always wondered about this myself. At what exact point does a medical student decide their entire career will revolve around examining female anatomy? 😁
And honestly, it gets even weirder—deciding to specialize in male genitalia! Who actually makes that choice, and when exactly does it happen?
I can wrap my head around women choosing it, maybe if they have some specific fascination with that particular anatomy 😍... but men 😲? I don't even know what you call a specialist for guys. Someone please educate me, haha 😁
A good man is defined by his commitment to doing good and refusing to do harm. 😁

Heh... let's go with font 1 then... assuming you still have my signature saved on file and everything... because I honestly can't recall how that bit about being a 'dummy' goes... 😍 I am asking nicely here...
Chris Lopez59 said:That’s just a fancy way of saying "I'm an angel, except for those times when I am absolutely not." 🙂

Fair enough, haha 👍 but I rarely lose my temper... so, fundamentally, I'm a good person.
Wait a minute... I think I heard somewhere that bad people always claim they're good. 😲 So what does that mean for me? Am I actually good or not? 😕
Chris Lopez59 said:Are you really feeling that strongly about it?

I can't help but wonder if our arrival here is actually the result of some deep soul-level free will, where we specifically chose this exact life before we even got here.

But that isn't fair. If that were the case, we should have a record of what the soul said and when it said it... like a notarized contract with an official seal and everything.
Just so we could sue someone whenever things don't go our way...
Good grief, you're too much... 😂

So, someone just wiped my entire signature. Part of it was basically saying, "Don't come at me in my comments calling me an idiot, because I truly couldn't care less what you think." Below that, I had one image showing a few overlapping topics—mostly just things like whether older women have better luck with guys (you know, the dating subreddits)—and then another image featuring that annoying 404 error we see whenever Reddit glitches out, paired with a picture of a frustrated guy.
In my eyes, none of this was harmful. I wasn't attacking Reddit or anything. Now, can someone please walk me through why it was removed? Was it because of:
a) the images ☕
b) my comment about not wanting people calling me an 'idiot' in my comments? O.o
c) some moderator just felt like deleting it on a whim?😍
d) a technical glitch where my signature file got deleted along with everything else? 😂
e) I ate some bad mushrooms and have no idea what I'm doing or reading anymore? 😲
Pleas, I need answers. 😁
If the images were the issue, you could have just sent me a quick note to take them down. Cheers.

A cluster of moles located around the neck area, characterized by a golden hue and fine, golden hairs protruding from them. 😬
Surgical removal isn't necessary unless those golden hairs become excessively thick, potentially causing irritation to both the mole itself and the surrounding skin. 😂
People back in the Middle Ages didn't have water heaters, gas furnaces, or washing machines... yet they still had kids ☕
So, people should be able to have children today regardless of whether they live in a sprawling mansion or a tiny house heated by a wood stove
Having kids isn't about your assets—it's about being a decent, functional human being
...though, let's be honest, people weren't always "functional" in the past either, and they still had children

In my view... everyone ought to have children, no matter what
Because that’s how it has always been, and that's simply how nature works
Suffering?
Suffering is a relative concept
If a child in a developing nation is suffering right now
Well, what of it... at least other children aren't suffering
It's just a fact
It's better if only some suffer, rather than everyone
Once we're all suffering together, then we'll really have a problem
I'm being a bit blunt, but I'm being smart too 😂
@Jeremy Alvarez5 - just as usual. Kudos on this long read. I couldn't agree more. 👍
I’m a good person, I value what’s right, and I gravitate toward good people.
That's all there is to it.

Are the other threads on this forum just a bit more pointless? 😁 😂Come on, don't give me that.

placidfalcon said:You might actually be allergic to dust, just like me. It makes everything way worse when you've already got a cold. I'd highly recommend using a saline rinse or even just some sea salt spray to clear things out.

I’m not allergic to nickel. 😁 I just finished my tests. Honestly, this nasal rinsing thing works wonders. I read a recipe online calling for 1/4 teaspoon of salt mixed with 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda in about half a cup of water, and that’s exactly what I did. Everything feels fine so far. My main issue isn't actually congestion; it's that constant post-nasal drip that keeps triggering my cough. Hopefully, it clears up soon. Time to go hammer some lemon slices. 😍

My mother is around, though she isn't in New York City. Damn. 🤷

Thanks for all the advice, everyone. You guys have been incredibly helpful 👍
But I have one more question
Why do I feel this strange tightness in my chest at night? It feels like it’s coming from my bronchial tubes—my windpipe and lungs, if you will. It’s as if the cold air is irritating them... 😕
To give some context, we've had constant home renovations going on lately, so there is dust everywhere. Could that be the culprit? Or is it just lingering from the cold? I noticed my uncle has been coughing more frequently too, especially at night and in the early morning when the air gets chilly. And it’s not just any cough... it’s a strange one. It feels like someone is actually grabbing my throat and squeezing. 🤷

Chris Edwards3 said:Most people wait until they're already fighting off fruit juices, teas, honey, lemon, or rosehip—basically waiting until the cold, the virus, or that bacterial infection hits—before they realize it's too late.

The importance of building up and maintaining your immunity is going to be crystal clear this winter, especially with H1N1 swirling around alongside the usual seasonal flu and nasty viruses.

Royal jelly, propolis, bee pollen, and honey are actually pretty affordable and incredibly effective—provided you don't wait until you're sick and instead use them for actual preventative courses. It’s simple: grab a jar of honey, some pollen, and a bottle of propolis, mix it all together, and take half a teaspoon in the morning and half at night.
At the same time, you should be taking about one gram of fresh royal jelly daily, letting it dissolve under your tongue.
Stick to the royal jelly and your homemade mixture for a three-month cycle.
Also, pick up some echinacea tea and drink about two cups a day.

That’s how you actually build up your defenses or prep your body for the flu, the sniffles, or even swine flu. You *could* buy all this stuff the same day you catch a cold—which is what most people do—but if that's your plan, don't expect much in the way of results.
It's funny how people only value their health once it's gone; then suddenly, everyone is willing to pay any price and swallow just about anything—good or bad—to feel human again.

So, where did you pick all this up? Are you a doctor, a med student, an amateur enthusiast of alternative medicine, or did you just learn it from your grandmother? 😕
