I skipped the theater because I assumed it was just another watered-down Disney disaster like that Little Mermaid remake...

The crew behind SNL really nailed it here—their sense of humor is peak perfection. Seeing Will Ferrell bring that same energy from his SNL days was hilarious. Just gold.

It’s a weird one, though. For a comedy, they didn't shy away from some seriously dark, horror-esque vibes you just don't see in this genre. We're talking a guy taking a massive dump in a jail cell, an uncensored decapitation scene, mocking JFK and MLK, and even poking fun at those classic American "stranger danger" anxieties...

Honestly? After the credits rolled, I actually felt like watching freestyle skiing, which is wild because I've never cared for it in my life.

It's depressing. Out of everything I've watched lately—from seeing "Dark Knight" on the big screen to watching "to want blood" on Blu-ray—"horror from rivers" is easily my favorite.

it’s actually pretty similar to this one—it's called Black Water..

The movie kicks off with news clippings tacked all over the walls of some dive bar in an Australian town. One article even shows a kid's torso caught in the jaws of a killed crocodile!

Honestly, I’m terrified of crocodiles after watching this. It’s worth checking out if you're into intense atmosphere or just love a good thriller/horror flick.

I honestly expected the plot to be stupid, you know, something low-rent like Jaws 2 or 3...
The soundtrack is killer; that Native American music sounds genuinely scary.
The story holds up. It's believable. I have zero complaints.
That first attack? Total shocker. I nearly jumped right out of my seat and spilled my popcorn. I was fully sucked in. 😁
The teenagers and kids stay far away from this one, which is exactly why it’s great—you actually get a decent theater experience without all the annoying screaming and noise.
Plus, there are some sexy guys in it. There's the American guy and that handsome Australian guy on the boat. 😳

After watching Open Water, the ocean creeps me out. This movie makes me never want to go on a river cruise again... I am definitely staying away from those waters, even if the scenery looks beautiful. 😳

Bottom line: it's in theaters now. If you dig thrillers and you aren't into teen comedies, cartoons, or local trash—and if you've already seen Dossier X but don't feel like sitting through Hancock or some six-hour Batman epic—then watch this. If you like this genre, you won't regret it.

placidranger, look, when I’m reading or watching something, I don't waste my damn time. I grab what actually makes sense, underline it, write it down, and actually learn it. If it isn't real advice for actual, real-world problems, it's just garbage to me. I'm not interested in fluff.
