Looks like we’re in for some folk music or something old-school today—honestly, I haven't been around long enough to know if that's a good thing or not.

The odds aren't exactly anything special—but they definitely speak to the soul of the common man. 😁

Valencia CF vs Granada at 1.35—and it looks like a 4-0 blowout is on the cards.

Valencia CF is looking incredibly sharp right now—honestly, they put up a decent fight even against FC Barcelona. They’re really digging in for that Europa League spot, while the visitors? Man, they're in such rough shape they've basically fallen out of contention for the tournament entirely.
On top of that—if you look at their head-to-head record over the last seven meetings—the Šipmiš guys have absolutely dominated, pulling off six wins and a draw.

AFC Bournemouth vs Bolton Wanderers — 1 @ 1.25 (3-0)

AFC Bournemouth is staring down the barrel of history right now—they have a genuine shot at making it into the Premier League for the very first time. It’s wild to think about. On this path to glory, they’ve got Bolton Wanderers waiting for them this weekend, a side that’s had a pretty miserable season (though, credit where it's due, they did manage to cling to their Championship status). Even though there's a high-stakes "make or break" match against Charlton Athletic coming up next, I have a feeling the squad is going to try and shake off all that pressure today so they can head into the final game with a bit more of a relaxed, celebratory vibe. Technically speaking, even if they win today, promotion isn't a mathematical lock yet—Bolton would basically need a miracle, like a massive blowout victory combined with a catastrophic loss from Bournemouth in the final round, just to stay in the hunt. Looking at the stats, things look promising for the Cherries. They actually pulled off a 2-1 win when they traveled to face Bolton earlier this season, and honestly, they're playing some great football lately—unbeaten in two months, with seven wins and four draws under their belt. Meanwhile, the visitors haven't exactly been rolling; they've only managed one single win in their last seven outings. It'll be interesting to see if they can carry that momentum forward.

Hobro vs FC Midtjylland 2 @ 1.65 (0-0)

It’s not even a huge shocker, really—I mean, the visitors are practically champions already (+11 points and they've got a game in hand with seven rounds left to play)—but man, that gap in sheer quality? It's glaringly obvious.
On top of all that, FC Midtjylland is looking at a Hobro side that’s actually been showing some decent teeth lately—they're having a pretty solid debut season in the Danish Superliga, honestly. They've managed four wins out of four so far this season, including those 3-0 and 5-1 scorelines, which you just can't ignore.

Beşiktaş vs Karabükspor 1 @ 1.55 (2-1)

With Galatasaray slipping up at Trabzonspor last week—and Fenerbahçe just stumbling this time around—Beşiktaş actually has a legitimate shot at getting back into the title race and snatching that top spot on the table again.
Even though they’ve tripped over their own feet countless times in games like this—the kind where you absolutely have to walk away with three points—today, I'm calling it. I've made my decision. 🤣 Hopefully he doesn't blow it.
They’ve definitely had the upper hand in their head-to-head matchups—even if they do tend to settle for a draw quite often (we're looking at 4 wins, 4 draws, and just a single loss). Plus, they already managed to snag a 2-1 victory away against Karabükspor earlier this season.
The visitors are basically your classic "park the bus" type of squad—they'll probably line up in a wild 1-3-9 formation just to sit deep—and honestly, I find it hard to see them holding onto that top spot in the league.
Honestly, this whole thing smells fishy to me—especially when you consider how much is riding on this match. Given the stakes, plus the fact that the visitors have absolutely nothing to lose and are definitely going to come out swinging, I just can't shake the feeling that something isn't right. 🤔
You might want to look at a parlay combining a Beşiktaş win with BA finding the back of the net—he’s been absolutely clinical lately, after all, bagging both goals in their season opener.

That's your call, but personally, I wouldn't put my money on $1.75 Olympique de Marseille.
They’ve gone from title contenders—basically the favorites—to just fighting for a spot in Europe, and honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they blow even that chance.
Mentally, the squad looks pretty shaken up—plus, you have to factor in that Marcelo Bielsa's teams are notorious for having terrible momentum; they tend to fall off a cliff as the season drags on.
You also have to consider that the visitors are fighting for survival, which usually means they'll be more motivated for this matchup (even if their own form isn't exactly great right now).

Kevin Miller78 said:FF Jaro hasn't actually beaten anyone since October 25, 2014—and besides picking up that one point against SJK last round, they've dropped six games in a row.

Fair enough, though I wouldn't call that particularly relevant data, considering they had a break lasting over three months.

I’ve got an iPhone (running WP) from work—nothing fancy, really—but hey, I won't complain when it's free.
Personally, I wouldn't drop even $33 on a phone.
The real tragedy is watching people take out high-interest loans just to buy some overpriced handset, only to have it shatter 🙏🤦
within a month.

Solid odds, but...
If you could parlay the match result with a specific player, the odds would hit 28.4
2 @ 7
Toni Kroos to score @ 4.10

Anyway, I was keeping an eye on this one because—to be honest—I’ve got a hunch the Fiorentina might just trip up here too.

Peter Thompson4 said:And from what I can see, whenever I check the AMC theater pricing, it’s pretty much the exact same everywhere you look, so yeah, the prices are identical whether you're in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, or even Phoenix.

Well, that's actually the whole point of what I was getting at.
You just can't have identical pricing in New York and some small town in middle America. I mean, sure, you *could*—but if you do, you'll end up with half-empty theaters and a bankruptcy filing within five years.

Amanda Evans2 said:I can't say I completely agree that movie tickets have become outrageously expensive. If you look at the average ticket price at a theater like AMC, it sits right around $10, which is basically the cost of two beers or just a bit more than a pack of cigarettes.
That’s pretty much what it costs to get into a USL soccer match at most stadiums, and it's actually $3.25 less than what you'd pay to see a match involving a team like Los Angeles FC.
It feels a bit silly to bundle the price of popcorn and sodas into the overall cost of going to the movies; nobody is forcing your hand to buy them. You can always just grab a bottle of water at a 7-Eleven for $1.25 and maybe some snacks for ten bucks if you're feeling hungry.

I don't know... considering how much everything else costs these days, $15 feels like a perfectly reasonable price for a movie. When you weigh it against everything else we're throwing money at, I think any of us can afford to head to the cinema once in a while. Again, I'm saying you don't have to blow another $17 on overpriced snacks if you're on a budget, right?

$10 is a Wednesday, so prices are usually lower then.
Personally, I can afford it, but a lot of people—the typical American average, excluding folks living in places like NYC or LA—probably can't.

Ashley Bailey6 said:Napster and file sharing blew up in the early 2000s, but even then, movie theaters were packed.

Maybe in NYC 🤷

But in a place like Columbus, let's say, they've never been emptier.
The local Cineplex shut down, and even the AMC isn't doing great. Out of all those classic theaters, only one is left running—and there used to be two—and even that one is basically hanging by a thread, only staying open because the city keeps subsidizing it.
I mean, I don't know who actually has the cash for a $33 ticket, popcorn, and drinks for two, when you can watch the exact same movie at home practically for free (you know, I’ve got a huge screen, and honestly, I don't care that much about surround sound or special effects—I just sink into my couch and 🤷 ).
Maybe go on a Wednesday if there's a discount, and that's about it.

Look, I love going to the theater for a big spectacle, but it's becoming an expensive hobby for people in our situation. NYC is clearly playing in a different league.

Honestly, LAFC is on such a tear right now—they’re basically aiming for an undefeated season at this point—so I really doubt they'll slip up. Even if they drop points today, I still see Louisville making it into the playoffs.
Louisville made a deep run in the postseason just two seasons ago, so I don't think you're really looking at much of a risk here.

If you ask me, there's no value in the moneyline; the only thing worth looking at would be the over/under.🤷

Guarani vs. Racing Club: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.80 (or let's go big: Over 3.5 @ 2.15) (Expected score 2-0)

This is the penultimate group stage match in the Copa Libertadores—basically the knockout qualifying round—where Paraguay’s runners-up, Guarani, welcome the Argentine champs, Racing. The Argentines have pretty much locked up that second seed, leaving Guarani to scrap against Uruguay's Sporting for the final spot.
I’ve had my eye on Guarani for a while now—they play these absolutely chaotic matches where goals just fly out of both ends. Honestly, since I started following them, I've mostly been hunting for overs because their version of a "high scoring game" is a 4-3 shootout, whereas most teams consider a 2-1 win a blowout. 😁 Even though Racing comes from a league that leans more toward low-scoring affairs, they've been surprisingly efficient in this tournament—averaging over 3 goals per game, while Guarani is pushing north of 4.

The first meeting between these two ended 4-1 in favor of Racing.

Thinking about throwing some action on 6+ goals @ 14.00 or even 7+ @ 22.00
Ended up taking the live bet on 4+ goals in the 1st half @ 22.00

Newcastle Jets vs. Perth Glory: 2 @ 1.90 (0-2)

So, we’ve got the absolute basement dwellers of the MLS here—I mean, talk about a rough patch—sitting with a measly two wins in twenty-three games. They're hosting Perth, who, while not exactly firing on all cylinders lately, did manage to scrape a win against the Wanderers last week (and you have to give credit where it's due, because even though the Wanderers have had a nightmare season, they've been showing some life). Perth is currently fighting tooth and nail for those top two spots—it's a tight race with five teams separated by just three points—to avoid that first playoff elimination round. Plus, Perth actually has a game in hand, which adds another layer to this whole thing.
It’s worth pointing out, though—and this is the part that really sticks out to me—that Newcastle hasn't even tasted a win against Perth in nearly three and a half years. In that stretch, out of eleven meetings, Perth has walked away with nine wins and two draws. It’s been a total stranglehold.

Since Perth was able to flip the script and come from behind in the second half last time around, I'm thinking it might be worth taking a flyer on the halftime/fulltime bet: 1/2 @ 30 (BetMGM) (0-0/0-2)

You’ve gotta watch out here—Bayern Munich is really feeling the absence of Subasic and Berbatov right now.
Assuming they don't pull a miracle and recover before kickoff, of course:

Seattle Sounders vs. Portland Timbers: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.70 (Over 3.5 @ 2.00) (Predicted 3-1)

Just a pure numbers play here—looking at the US Open Cup.
The head-to-head stats are pretty wild: 13 of the last 15 matches hit over 2.5 goals, 14 of 15 went over 2.5, and 12 of 15 saw over 3.5 goals scored.
Now, Seattle isn't exactly tearing it up lately, but Portland has been involved in some absolute track meets—we're talking an average of over 5 goals per game in this tournament so far. They’ve seen over 2.5 goals in 7 of their last 9 outings, and honestly, most of those were high-scoring affairs exceeding 4 goals.

I might try to hunt for some live overs once things get moving. Kickoff is in about fifteen minutes.

Already jumped on the 4+ goals in the first half @ 10.75... now I'm just sitting back waiting for the total match count to climb toward 6+.

Or perhaps a physicist, though I'm certainly not an expert on those matters either...😢

You’d really have to ask Miller—though, knowing him, he’ll probably just insist there are two suns in the sky. ☕

I was digging through some old archives today—you know how it goes, one rabbit hole leads to another—and I stumbled upon this piece about "The Second Sun." It’s one of those deep dives that really makes you pause and rethink everything we take for granted about our perception of reality. It’s a bit of a trip, honestly. The author gets into these heavy philosophical waters, questioning whether what we see is actually the full picture or if we're just looking at a filtered version of existence. It reminds me of that old sci-fi trope where the protagonist realizes the sky isn't actually blue, it's just how our eyes interpret the light—kind of like how we assume certain social structures are "natural" when they're really just layers of paint over a much messier truth. There’s a specific section on the concept of duality that stuck with me. The idea that for every "sun" or primary truth we experience, there’s a shadow or a secondary force working behind the scenes. It’s very much in line with that classic American transcendentalist vibe—think Emerson or Thoreau—where you're constantly trying to peel back the surface of nature to find the spiritual core underneath. But instead of looking at trees and ponds, we're looking at the fabric of consciousness itself. I found myself drifting off into a tangent about how much of our modern life is built on these "secondary suns"—these manufactured realities we inhabit through screens and media. We think we're seeing the world, but we're often just seeing a highly curated projection designed to keep us looking in one direction. Anyway, it’s a dense read. Not for everyone, especially if you prefer your philosophy served without a side of existential dread, but if you have an afternoon to kill and want to feel slightly more confused about the universe than when you started, give it a look. Just don't blame me when you start staring at the ceiling at 2 AM wondering if the light in the room is even "real."
