The doctor said it's just a routine procedure, so I'm taking his word for it. It's not like I suddenly dropped dead; I've been dealing with this thing needing surgery for 10 years now. The operation is on the 24th, which works out perfectly since there aren't any games scheduled right after the group stage ends. I couldn't have picked a better date if I tried. 😁

hmmm, look at this potential moderator talking ha
come on, you just can't swallow the fact that you shouldn't have even run in the first place....
At least mr. ex has a whole crew of actual colleagues standing behind him ready to back him up...
but what do you have?? 😕

I was nominated first, but I backed out because I won't be around during the ep since I have to be in the hospital. Besides, the mods are basically just looking for extra hands during the ep, so there's no point in pushing myself. I mentioned being interested in a mod spot for "other sports," which I already brought up a year ago. Naturally, you'll have some long-winded response to this, just like your buddy—who's already on my ignore list, so I couldn't care less what he thinks about me.
Angela Roberts said:😂 Exactly. Just chill out, nimblemarlin17. If you actually mattered, someone would be voting for you. Clearly, nobody even notices you're here...🙄

Hm, coming from someone who’s clearly lost and won't be sticking around much longer. I would've had 5 or 6 votes if I hadn't walked away. How am I supposed to get a single vote when I'm not even running? Your logic is just as broken as your friend's. They aren't going to be a mod no matter how many forum members they drag in to vote for them...
Listen, this is ridiculous... This guy actually went out and begged Chef Sale to make him a moderator for the "Soccer" section. I’ve never heard anything like it...🙄 And since he wanted things to be "fair," he literally dragged in voters from across the border to vote for him. Unbelievable. How does he even have the nerve to show up in this part of the forum? Honestly, the only people who actually have the qualifications to be a new mod are Serse_Cosmi, frozentiger6, and me. Though frozentiger6 and I aren't interested—well, I am, but I'll be gone for a week right in the middle of the ep; I'm heading to Portugal 😁 . But that doesn't mean boldhound8 should even be considered for the position. Since he already picked up some votes (despite the flood of outsiders), Serse_Cosmia needs to be appointed as the new mod instead.

They had walls. If they’d just locked the gates and stayed put, those guys wouldn't have stood a chance at breaking in. 😛

Jesus went toe-to-toe with the devil in a boxing match over in South Park. Look, I'll be the first to admit the whole thing was rigged, but if he can take down the devil—who was six times his size and absolutely ripped—then how the hell is a non-existent Apollo supposed to stand a chance? 😁 😛

Nancy Kim2 said:Otto shaves, Paris was just a tool, and that pathetic little "look at me, I'm the sun god" loser Apollo actually took out Achilles.

GNN, maybe you’ve got a bit of heatstroke setting in (go ask C'Teba), but honestly, I can't stay chill about these comics... here's a little something for your ego: 🙏 🙏 🙏

No, Apollo isn't even a thing. Achilles chopped his head off and nothing happened. These arguments are absolute garbage. 😁

Paul Campbell3 said:Yeah, he stabbed him in the back, and when he was unarmed in the movie, it was even worse in the epic.

He was just sitting there at the feast like a guest, then started wailing in the middle of the ocean once it was way too late to turn back—knowing damn well his brother wouldn't let the kid die (he definitely would've died if he’d actually gone back for her).

He went because he figured his older brother would look out for him (in the movie). In the epic, I think he didn't even bother fighting the king, but I'm not 100% sure.

If he had done any of that fairly and honestly, he'd be called Hector, or maybe Superman. But he's just Paris—weak, but not a total coward.😁
Troy in Movies ·
I’ve noticed everyone on this forum keeps calling Paris a coward. Seriously? This guy took down Achilles! This guy’s whole life was basically set on fire by some king’s brute force. Before he ever lost his nerve, he was actually out there facing off against that same royal tyrant. He might be weak, but "coward" isn't the right word. (And no, I'm not gay. And no, I'm not some fan of that pretty boy Orlando.) 😁

Man, you guys are so superficial. Hector isn't some perfect hero; he’s just "the fool who thought he could take down Achilles." Brad Pitt laid it all out perfectly in the movie...😛

Henry Anderson47 said:nimblemarlin17, good grief, I barely recognized you! Just when I thought some new person was giving the movie a thumbs up and mentioning what was probably its best scene,
turns out it’s just you hiding behind an Ott costume (give me something better to look at, for crying out loud!!!!!

It's the era of the Euro, and since I promised myself I'd stay optimistic, there's no better way to do it than by masquerading as the most hated guy on the roster. Since I didn't want to post a picture of Živković (honestly, who would even want to look at him? 😁 ), I went with Idiott because he's funny, even if he doesn't mean to be. 👋

You can't have your cake and eat it too, but the reality is I usually rewatch average movies about ten times, yet this one? I've barely checked it twice. That alone gives it a 👍 No matter how dumb it is... (and let's be real, it is)

Yeah, one more thing... Am I tripping, or did I spot a few faces from Scotland among those soldiers? Maybe someone already brought this up (and maybe I’m just looking stupid 😁), but I’m genuinely wondering if it's actually them. It's those guys with the beards—I'm positive I've seen them in some other movie before (and honestly, nothing else really compares to that one).

Character development for the actresses? Please. 😁 Look, I never said the movie wasn't just mindless Hollywood entertainment for the masses. Just don't come at me with all that talk about "character arcs" or other "artistic" nonsense. For heaven's sake, I paid $10, and I intend to have a good time. 😉

**SPOILER ALERT**

The movie's actually good. It runs about two and a half hours, and my only gripe was the uncomfortable seats (ever since I started hitting up Cinestar, I've become a total snob about legroom...). We all know that even if that battle actually happened, it wasn't being run by gods. Brad captures that perfectly when his Achilles cuts the head off that statue. It’s like a brighter, more grounded version of Lord of the Rings where you don't have clear-cut heroes and villains—everyone is just somewhere in the gray area, except for the "evil king." There’s no magic involved (huge plus in my book), plenty of strong women, and tons of combat (with heaps of bodies on both sides). If any of this really went down, it probably looked more like this film than *The Iliad*.

My favorite part is right at the start, when Achilles shows up to the fight absolutely livid, crushes it, and then stomps away from that tall guy even angrier than before.👍
Kill Bill Vol. 1 in Movies ·
Watched it for the first time yesterday. Honestly? Disappointing. The first half—and yeah, I haven't seen the first volume of the two-part thing—is actually decent. It’s promising. There's some over-the-top blood, sure, but overall it works. Then everything just falls apart. That idiotic brawl with 100 Japanese men completely tanked the movie. It’s just a damn rip-off of The Matrix and makes zero sense; it isn't some tribute to Japan, samurai, or martial arts. Pulp Fiction was the gold standard. Jackie Brown was the gold standard. But now I see that Tarantino can't make a watchable movie without S. L. Jackson. Kill Bill gets a thumbs down from me. 👎 From here on out, I'm only trusting my own gut, not those critics and distributors who declare something a masterpiece before the cameras even start rolling.

Before she entered her "Marlon Brando" phase, she was a total knockout—assuming you're into those curvy Playboy bunnies, which I definitely am...😁. But lately? She looks like a pig. 🙄

Oh, and for the record, Leslie Nielsen was one of the greatest actors to ever walk the earth. The man absolutely owned his entire genre. Even if it was just parody, you have to tip your hat to him.

"Your coat, sir? —Yeah, I've got the receipt for it too." 😎
Is Michael Bay actually a bad director? in Movies ·
Honestly, I think indie studios and European filmmakers are just selling us pure garbage wrapped in gold foil right now. Every single low-budget flick gets labeled as "arty" and immediately hailed as some kind of masterpiece. Nobody even notices how mind-numbingly boring they actually are. Take Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, for example. Sure, it wasn’t exactly a tiny budget production, but since it isn't a blockbuster, everyone calls it genius. I sat through it hoping for something gripping and intense, but instead, I nearly fell asleep mid-movie. That's why I'm saying it: SWAT or Pearl Harbor—which are total brainless commercial trash—are way more watchable than 99% of these non-blockbusters. They might be garbage, but at least you can watch them without yawning your head off. At the very least, you can have a good laugh at how bad they are.

It’s just not happening. I was at the theater a couple of months back catching "Payback." Yeah, sure, it’s a total Hollywood brain-off blockbuster, but I honestly don't get those two snobs who walked out after maybe 70 minutes because they felt their intelligence was being insulted. Just turn your brain off and enjoy the mindless chaos of an action flick. That’s the whole point. 😉
