Look, so many new subforums have popped up since I joined the IMF that I didn't even notice any kind of "flood." What would even constitute a flood regarding Lucasfilm? The criteria should be based on how much there is to discuss; the subject matter is incredibly vast. It’s definitely broader than any other film franchise, and quite possibly even broader than Star Trek. No one is stopping anyone from discussing it here, but honestly, it feels a bit silly to dive into niche details in front of such a broad audience—especially since a good portion of people here don't care for Lucasfilm or find it irrelevant to their lives. We shouldn't be debating things that are only deeply 🙏 and interesting to the core fanbase. If I started making threads for every single movie detail: How tall are they, and how many people could actually fit inside an AT-AT? What are your thoughts on the Rancor? Would you accept Vader's offer if you were in Luke's position? The best quotes from Lucasfilm. Which alien race is the wildest? Who would win in a fight: Stormtroopers or Ice Troopers? And so on. Kuiil?
Anderlon hasn't replied to my message, even though I laid everything out for him quite clearly. Honestly, I don't understand why they find it so difficult to just open a new sub-forum. The idea that this would distract people from the movie is nonsense. It feels like a pretty weak excuse if you ask me. As if someone who usually comes for the movies would suddenly stop showing up just because they're interested in SW. They don't seem to realize this could actually drive more traffic to the movie section. There are definitely people who skip the movies but would show up for SW, and then might just stick around for the movies while they're already here.
I just don't get it. That's all there is to it. We're just regular forum users, and nobody really cares about us. If a moderator or even God Admin decided it would be cool to have a sub-forum dedicated to electric water heaters, they’d probably have it up and running in 3.56 seconds. 👎
How can you not get it? What is there even to misunderstand? For me, that was the ultimate high because everything felt brand new, I was in the prime of my life, and I had my whole crew by my side. It’s exactly like someone who turned 18 back in 1981. Do you get it now?
That era was beautiful to me—it was pure, unadulterated, and far from any supposed "dark wave." 😁 It'll be the same for some kid from today's generation in, I don't know, ten years; they'll look back on Schwarzenegger and Thompson as something beautiful and perfect, while dismissing Techno as some dark influence.
Ugh, if you still don't understand, I really can't help you. You might need to seek professional advice. 😬
I’m not particularly fond of how things are today, but I suppose the real issue is that it resonates more with the younger crowd—specifically high schoolers and those in their early twenties. 😁 To the students: If I were to apply the Thompson-Law to them...👎 Now they’re probably enjoying a better shave, but I expect they'll be complaining again soon, asking, "Where did that golden era go, back when we used to sing about Wind from the Dinar?" 😬
For me, the most incredible era was the rise of the Techno movement in America. It was roughly between 1993 and 1995. I was a Happy child back then. 😁 There isn't a single soul on this planet who could convince me that there was ever a better era for intelligence than this one. Kuiš?
It seems like there’s never been an official SW subforum. I suppose that’s why we all just end up messing around here instead. I think I'll send a direct message to Anderlon right now to see what his take is on the matter.
The leadership is acting like they're completely lost in the Kurtz mindset. They'd probably end up gutting the film subforum entirely. 😂 It’s honestly pretty devastating 😱 when you think about how much it hurts to see a dedicated film section emptied out. Just typical Bananerosi behavior.👎
So, is there actually any chance for our fan club to get off the ground, or are we all just talking in circles here? What do the mods think?
Check out this plan. If they won't let us, let's just flood the entire forum with threads like: How tall is an AT-AT? Who would win in a fight: Smith 😂 vs. Agent Smith 😁? Or even, how to build a lightsaber during a lunch break.
By the way, I don't blame the Imperial Fleet for Palpatine's death. It's because he basically used Mind control to run almost every major ship commander. When he died, that connection snapped, leaving the Captains 😁 completely lost, dazed, and wondering, "Where am I? What's going on? And where's my beer?" 😕 Then the damn REBELS 😠 finished them off. 😢
I honestly don't see why you're asking these questions when everything is easily searchable online. After all, any one of us could pose a few questions that almost nobody else would have the answer to. For instance, why did the Imperial Fleet essentially collapse right after the Death Star was destroyed in the final episode? And who actually came up with that clever idea involving the cable to bring down an AT-AT? Or what kind of tech and extra gear 😬 is actually built into a Stormtrooper's helmet?...........
Anyway, let me pivot to a different topic. Whatever anyone tells me, I’ll respond using actual quotes from Star Wars. To be honest, I have zero interest in quoting that mess from Episode I or Episode II—at least not enough to bother, save for a few honorable, albeit rare, exceptions.
That’s funny, because you didn't seem to feel that way just a moment ago. It seems some people will do absolutely anything just to land a moderator position. Now it's all just mindless spam, whereas a little while back, the argument was that my longer posts weren't even worth reading because they were supposedly just nonsense that would eventually win forum awards anyway.😉
And for the record, it isn't 3,000; it's just over 2,000.
Anyway, if you're that desperate to moderate—fine, have it your way. I'm withdrawing my candidacy. Let rapidmoose5 and Galax handle the moderation instead.
Thanks, truly. I still find myself posting nonsense sometimes. By the way, New Balance only has about 26 some odd posts here, and I haven't been active there in ages.
With virtual friends like these, who would ever need to get into an argument with anyone else?
Look, rapidmoose5 🙂 you aren't even listening to what I have to say, let alone supporting me—it feels like you're actually working against me now 🙂 , even though we used to be on good terms😢
I consider myself a fan of any kind of Sci-Fi—honestly, if I had only read Sci-Fi for my college textbooks, I probably would have finished three degrees by now. That said, Star Wars definitely deserves its own dedicated subforum. In fact, why not just merge Sci-Fi and Fantasy together (I honestly don't understand why there's a Fantasy subforum but no separate one for Sci-Fi 😕)? We could have our own little corner to debate how massive a Star Destroyer really is, how freezing it actually gets on Antarctica, why Darth Vader can't survive without his helmet, or why Luke Skywalker didn't just attack the Emperor and throw his lightsaber instead. If you want us to clutter up the main Sci-Fi section with those kinds of topics, be my guest. I'm sure silentpilot6 has even more controversial takes up his sleeve. 😉
I support the idea of opening a Sci-Fi subforum, provided it includes a specific space for Star Wars. Why not? Let's open a Sci-Fi section that houses a Star Wars fan club within it. What do you all think?
So, will more of the mods or the big boss himself finally weigh in and clarify what’s going on with all of this? There's been so much arguing and back-and-forth over who actually holds the moderator title. We're essentially trying to build the foundation before we've even broken ground on the project itself.
I told you I’d call in the Stormtroopers, and as you can see, they aren't playing around.😁
What are you ladies even doing? Who was the first one to step up? Who's actually reaching out to people to rally support? First, let's focus on getting this subforum established, then we can discuss who should take on the moderator role.
Keep dreaming if you want; eventually, an AT-AT will show up too.😉
Here is why silentpilot6 needs to be the moderator. Because he's already holding a Thermal detonator.😬
To be honest, I was actually offered a moderator position a while back, but I turned it down. Moderating just isn't my thing, especially since I spend so much time on this forum already. But... managing a dedicated Star Wars subforum would be a completely different story. 😁
Anyway, what are we waiting for? Just open that subforum already. It’s not like we’re asking for anything impossible, right? It shouldn't be that hard to set up a new section, and if it doesn't pick up steam after a few months, you can always just close it down.
Come on.
Uostalom-n, every other subforum seems to have a million moderators, so there's no way this one will only have one—assuming there's even one to begin with. 😁
