Man, seriously... where on earth did you get that idea? 😍

wiredfalcon2, honestly, it feels like there are people out there way worse than me... 😬

And hey, Del, just checking—you aren't accidentally hanging out with those sunset chasers in your free time, are you? 😁 😁 😁

No, I totally agree with you that Tool is basically "the ultimate grunge band" 😂 , and Parabola is easily the most grunge song from the last 15 years. Yeah, sure. 🤣

Um... honestly, all I've seen so far is a music video playing on TV. I don't really know much about the project itself. 😳 But this one, featuring Scott Weiland... hmm. 😍 I might actually give this a listen. 😁

Yeah, impatient? Maybe. But here we go 😁 🙄. To save everyone the trouble, here it is:

DON'T GIVE IN, INES

Don't give in, Ines
Don't let the years win, my Ines
Despite different movements and habits
Because your room is still warm
With its cozy layout and those rare little trinkets
You always had better taste than I did
Your room was a beauty
The landlady is in the hospital now
You always stood out
By the color of your stationery, by the gifts you gave
You’d follow me the next morning around nine toward the station
And the green bus gets pushed by the autumn wind
Like a leaf falling down a hillside in Brooklyn
Wearing my evening suit, surrounded by stares
Don't give in to youth, my Ines, don't give in

Our friendship took a long time to prepare
And then, by chance, over a glass of hot bourbon
And with just a few sentences, a poorly hidden desire
You have the way of a lady mixed with a country girl's grit
My little rogue and my little princess
With your curves, the bed
And my room hanging in the air like an orange
Like an orange lamp glowing over the green and blue waters of New York City
On proleterski brigada 39, near Perković
The street is soaked from the window view, amidst the hum of early evening subways
Beautiful moments of nostalgia, love, and being broke
Sharing the bathroom
And asking, "Excuse me, is anyone looking for..."

Don't give in, Ines
Here I am, getting up just to flip a record
Is it rude at a time like this?
Mozart, Requiem, Agnus Dea
But that's still my favorite beginning
I still have a million tender
And reckless memories of our youth
Which betrays us, robs us, and leaves us behind...

Don't give in, Ines
Tear up the invitation, cancel the dinner, cheat on your husband
Just to go take a stroll at some fancy hotel
Touch my knee under the table
My generation, my lover

I know there will be more youth to come,
But nothing like this—not like back in 1938
I won't have anyone left to stay young with if you all grow old
And losing that youth will hit me hard
Though I suppose you all might be right
Because I'm standing here alone on this shore
The one you abandoned and handed over without a fight
And the rain starts again,
Just like it always rains in November on the coast
An ocean of lead and a sky of pine trees
Distant voices blending together
The voice of a mother, a friend, a daughter, a lover, a ship, a brother
Quickly gathering the laundry before the rain hits
And the light faded along with that whiteness
Just a little more walking by the ocean and that's it
Don't give in, Ines

(The whole set, I hope 😁)

So you don't have to keep copying from your notebook in the future:

Do you honestly believe this whole thing is going to reach some kind of final judgment?
Dealing with bone spurs? in Health ·
Thanks, Casey Palmer5. 🙂

Yeah, I definitely underestimated how much those clicking sounds and occasional knee pains could actually matter. It’s the same kind of discomfort I get in my wrists sometimes, too. That’s why I went ahead and requested an X-ray referral for my knees; once the results are in, I'm heading straight to my primary care doctor to figure out if I need to see a specialist or what. I'm only 19, and honestly, the last thing I want to be dealing with is something like arthritis at this age. 😢

I went in for an X-ray on my knee last week and just got the results back today. My doctor wrote:

"Indication of incipient bilateral patellar osteophytes, with no other pathomorphological bone changes present."

I’ve seen a few threads floating around about rheumatism and arthritis, but I’m starting this one because I couldn't find anything specific regarding osteophytes (thank God for the search function, though we all know it's a total disaster most of the time). I'm curious what they actually are. From a quick Google search, it looks like some kind of minor bony growths. If anyone knows more about this... 🙂 please let me know. 👋

Honestly, I have no clue what kind of criteria anyone would even use to decide which rock songs qualify as "anthology" status, nor do I particularly care what language you intend to write them in. 😁

and she beat me to it...

Why wouldn't you believe people like that exist? I'm not just talking about this forum, but out in the real world. Even when the conversation turns to classic rock lyrics, it's not like everyone is tuned in. Not everyone listens to that stuff.

Caffeine addiction? in Health ·
neonsailor12 said:Personally, I’ve only ever used it to help manage fatigue during intense workouts; as for staying alert or any of that other hype—it's total nonsense.

I think I’ve had Red Bull maybe twice in my entire life. Once, I was absolutely exhausted, so I grabbed one and—wow—immediately after, I just crashed and went straight to sleep... yeah, about those wings they promise.🙄 So, I don't buy into the energy spike hype either.

I’m not exactly a caffeine addict, either. Sometimes I won't have any at all, usually I just stick to one a day if I bother at all, and rarely two. At home, I’ll have a Nescafé, but I don't really touch strong drip coffee. I can function perfectly fine without it.😁 (For now. Check back with me in five years.)

Now, regarding actual coffee, it has this "delayed reaction" effect on me. That’s how I describe it. I’ll drink a cup, and if I’m tired, nothing happens initially, but then about two hours later, I suddenly become hyperactive.

As for mixing Red Bull with vodka? No way. Vodka hits me harder than anything else as it is; I don't need extra additives. Unless it's juice.
really? 😲 🙂
