aha... ☕ I heard this story once about some girl who went to her high school prom and ended up hitting it off with this guy. He gave her a little gift box and told her to wait until she got home to open it. Well, when she finally got back and opened the thing, there was just a scrap of paper inside that said, "Welcome to the world of side chicks." So, do you honestly think you're not just talking total nonsense here? 🙄
Living with Bipolar and BPD: Any advice? in Health ·
They had discussions about this over in the psychology forum, so maybe give it a shot there.

Look, here’s the breakdown: 😬 the frames were about $700, the plastic lenses ran me another $200, plus there was some extra coating for around $100.

And yet, I still can't make the math work out to those totals. 😁

But hey, I guess we really got taken for a ride back in Chicago. 😎

Give me a break, what kind of "standard glass" are we talking about from $333? 😲

I haven’t paid a dime for $333 lenses yet. Mind you, I don’t even use glass lenses 😁; I stick to plastic. It’s just easier for me since my frames feel lighter and I don't have to live in constant fear of shattering them 🥳, but still...
.
What exactly are you guys buying? Some sort of ultra-premium, top-of-the-line specialty glass or something? 😳
Or is that actually a standard price for glass lenses? 😁

Someone please enlighten me. 😁

What kind of high-end designer glass are we talking about here, for crying out loud?

Melissa Gonzalez21 said:but I know they're quite a bit more expensive than standard prescription ones.

Actually, it's not that—they usually end up being slightly more than just basic sunglasses. Honestly, it all depends on the brand you go for (I mean, if someone has their eye on something like Chanel or similar... 😁).

I just picked out a pair of shades I liked, and getting the prescription lenses fitted cost me about $30.

So, it’s really not that big of a deal.

Side effects of birth control pills? in Health ·
northerntrucker2 said:Because our condom broke about a month ago, and my OB-GYN prescribed Plan B—told me to take two doses over two days—but oh my god, I felt absolutely terrible, it was brutal😲 😢and I couldn't stop throwing up.

It sounds like you were taking the emergency contraceptive, or what most people call the "morning-after pill."

As for daily birth control pills... yeah, you have to take one every single day (except for that seven-day break you get).

Yeah, honestly, who cares what they call the country? It’s not like this is the first time Hollywood has had to cook up some fictional nation just to serve a plot point, since apparently having over 200 actual countries on the map isn't enough for them... 🙄

No worries. 🙂 [Sometimes I just spend way too much time lurking on here. 😁]

Regarding OCD itself, 😍 I might as well jump into the fray myself. Look, I don't exactly consider myself a candidate for a psychiatric ward [at least not yet 😬], but

I’m the type to count steps up a staircase,
I need to organize everything—books, CDs, whatever—in perfect chronological or alphabetical order, or some other rigid system
and the list goes on... 😁 😁 😁

It isn't always on my mind, but whenever a thread like this pops up... yeah, I see myself in a lot of this. Still, I suppose I'm far from alone in dealing with it. 😬

Is marijuana actually a drug? in Health ·
s http://www.mayoclinic.org/?sec...ion_menu=drugs:

A drug is basically any substance—whether it’s a solid, liquid, or gas—that you take into your body and ends up altering how you function physically or mentally.

When we talk about psychoactive drugs, we’re referring to those specific substances that mess with your central nervous system, essentially rewiring a person's thoughts, moods, and overall behavior.

In terms of how they actually hit you, these psychoactive substances generally fall into four buckets: depressants, stimulants, hallucinogens, or a mix of different effects.

ezra said:Yeah, Mickey Mouse, marijuana (both weed and hash) are classified as hallucinogens.

Oh, really? That's funny, because my American psychiatry textbook explicitly states that cannabis products belong to their own distinct category of drugs and aren't lumped in with hallucinogens at all.😁

What actually constitutes a drug?

Caffeine, nicotine, chocolate... you name it. So, if you want a straight answer to your question: yeah, it's a drug.

But honestly, legalization is a whole different beast entirely.

First off, don't go spiraling into a panic. 🙂

I’m no medical expert [yet 😁], but generally speaking, arthralgia just refers to joint pain or those sharp, stabbing sensations in the joints.
