Emergency: My friend is pregnant in Health ·
Sarah Cruz2 said:I put a deadline in there because I wasn't entirely sure which week the window for an abortion closes (I thought it was the 8th week). I know that once you pass that cutoff, you have to provide specific medical documentation—like proof of fetal abnormalities or something similar—otherwise, nobody will perform the procedure.

Got it. So that limit is actually 10 weeks now. After that point, you're required to provide special documentation. 😉

I'm aware there's a ten-week window, which is why I'm asking.

So, she’s still got nearly a month left; it’s not exactly a crisis yet.

But considering she’s already six weeks overdue, we should probably nip this in the bud rather than trying to fix the damage later.🙄 😁

What on earth do you mean by "on the edge"?

Exactly.

When I was doing my internship last year, I saw firsthand how people will demand just about anything.

For instance, someone please explain to me why it felt like every other elderly patient was coming in specifically demanding tranquilizers? 🙄

Or take the grandfather who would polish off his entire monthly supply of Norvasc in just a few days, only to show up shaking like a leaf asking for more. Jeez... 😁 🙄

So, basically, my tax dollars are going toward keeping seniors perpetually sedated? 🤣

I experience the same thing when I visit my own doctor; I'll complain about something minor, and within five minutes, I’m walking out with two different referrals. Their first instinct is just to write the script and pass you off to a specialist so they don't have to actually bother thinking about what your... well, you know... 🙄

Is this some kind of joke? 😁

I mean, give me all the credit. 😉

The problem is, anatomy doesn't care if it's Friday or Monday; the material is just as brutal regardless of the day of the week.😢

Melissa Cruz2 said:but I actually paid out of pocket for my kidney surgery $23!!!!! just $23. and let me tell you, that kind of surgery and hospital stay isn't cheap.

My mom deals with thyroid issues too, and once she realized how much those ultrasounds and biopsies would run without supplemental insurance, she was at the clinic paying for them the very next day because it just makes sense financially.

What about treatment for alcoholism, for instance? Is it the same deal? I'd assume they’d be stuck paying much higher premiums for supplemental insurance than everyone else.

I guess that’s actually the ultimate goal for our Department of Health... 🙄 to make sure a patient passes away before they even reach the front of the line, so the government doesn't have to waste a single cent on them. 👎

It's honestly sickening.

Even today, we’re hearing the Secretary of Health on the morning news claiming they want to hike up insurance premiums just for smokers.

First off, how exactly do they plan on proving someone smokes? 😁 If I just deny it, what then? Are they going to hire a private investigator to follow me around and snap photos of me with a cigarette? 😬

Second, if smokers are being penalized with extra costs, shouldn't people who live on fast food and greasy takeout be footing the bill too? 🙄 Following that logic, both groups are destroying their health, so why pick on one over the other?

Yeah, fair enough. 😁 Now that the link is live, they really ought to give it a read. 😉

It says things are kicking off starting on day one.

But then again, if I hadn't just dropped that exact link in my previous post... 🙄

Look, I’m not entirely sure what the specific goal is here, but if the girl has already mastered her ABCs, she should just go over the handout that comes with their tablets. Or, if she’s got that special way with words—or perhaps some insight from a specialist—she ought to just ask them directly.

Yeah, it says from DAY ONE, but then it goes on to say this too:

If your periods are staying consistent in both their duration and how heavy they are, then everything is likely functioning exactly as it should. So, you’re starting on birth control pills. Day one. It’s like being stuck in a slow-motion car wreck every single month—just constant, grinding discomfort that you’re expected to ignore while you go about your business. Honestly, it feels less like a biological process and more like a monthly subscription to misery that nobody actually signed up for. In this scenario, you're protected from day one of starting the pill. If you’re dealing with heavy periods, it might be smarter to wait until day five of your cycle before actually starting oral contraceptives. If you start taking oral contraceptives on the very first day of your period, they can actually end up making your bleeding heavier and lasting longer. If you start taking birth control pills on day five of your cycle, you aren't fully protected right away; you won't have reliable contraceptive coverage until you hit the second month of consistent use.

Let them come to their own conclusions.

And then there’s always that 1% who just refuse to pull their weight, so... 🤣

Honestly, if these people would just read the damn warning label before they start swallowing whatever junk they find, or maybe actually consult their doctor, we wouldn't be here. These aren't gummy bears, you know? 🙂 😉

Generally speaking, if you start taking them on day one of your cycle, you should be fine. However, if you wait until somewhere between day two and day five, you really ought to use backup protection for that first week just to be safe.
Dealing with bad cramps? in Women's Health ·
I used to be completely wiped out by the pain, honestly, until I started taking Triquilar. Since then, the discomfort has pretty much vanished... 🙂 Before that, I was popping these massive pills—you know, things like Ibuprofen or Advil—and trying stuff like Buscopan, too. For me, they were basically useless; it felt like swallowing Tic Tacs. Nothing happened at all. 😢

driftingbison5 said:So what's the deal with this Triquilar? Ingredients? How does it actually work?

It's an oral contraceptive.

Composition: levonorgestrel & etinil-estradiol. Though I doubt that's really what you're looking for right now. 😬
