Roundabout design ideas in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Since I couldn't find a recent thread about Times Square, it felt like the right place to drop this note after all these years...

I truly don't see what the harm was in letting it stay 🤷

My registration was deleted 🤷
I would appreciate some clarification regarding this...
Post erased on the Victory in Europe Day thread (May 9th) in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I'm not sure if I should jump in here or start my own thread, but my post was erased from the main topic too 🤔

For what?
There’s no explanation—no warning or anything—just all my effort gone down the drain...
Kyle Johnson2 said:Just type the cell address into the Name Box and hit enter...

Thanks,
but I was actually looking for a Ctrl + something shortcut to jump back to my previous selection—the one I had highlighted before...

Basically, I apply a filter for a specific client, find the row I need, select it, and then clear the filters. Since the database is massive—lots of rows and columns—it resets my view back to A1. Now, I want to be able to jump right back to that specific cell, say AA4301, with just a click or two so I can work on that row...
I'm trying to avoid scrolling manually through all that data...

The real headache is that when I'm working within filtered rows, I can't seem to insert new rows below the selection—only above...
Is there a quick way to jump straight back to the specific cell I found after filtering a column?
You can also just hit Alt+Enter whenever you need a new line within a cell...

Matthew Anderson said:The principle remains the same—if you label someone as having a 'disorder,' the discussion will inevitably end the same way... a mountain of deleted posts and a pile of bans.

Could we please stop tolerating people labeling believers as mentally ill, whether in this context or any other?
Peter Sanchez15 said:Could someone please help me troubleshoot this:

I'm using a formula to get a specific result which I then round to two decimal places—but how do I make Excel actually sum those two decimals instead of the full, unrounded values?

Thanks everyone

I’m pointing out the double standards in the introduction 🙂
It isn't my fault you're using double standards—and you certainly aren't the only one...

Sam Green73 said:I am part of the staff—admins step in only when they deem it necessary.

I don't see why you're being evasive 🤷
I made it clear I wanted an opinion from an administrator, which you are not.

Sam Green73 said:I have no intention of repeating myself; everything was settled long ago.
You should just ignore me instead of trying to engage.
Now, I'm not going to waste thirty minutes catching up on this... I have much more important things to attend to, both here and in my actual life.

A single word should suffice...

No one asked you to spend thirty minutes on this topic...🤷
If you aren't interested... just hit the ignore button.

.......

Besides, what exactly was said that clearly targeted you? I wasn't referring to you at all...

I reached out to administration immediately for an answer and received nothing. Your response—well, it didn't mean much since I wasn't actually addressing you...
So, the idea that an immediate answer was provided is simply incorrect.

By the way:
When you claim I spent a month seeking a second opinion, are you implying the fault lies with me for being unable to find one?
If I requested it and waited thirty days... what exactly are we discussing?

Where exactly are you seeing a specific interlocutor in my post? I am speaking—and thinking—in terms of a collective...
Regarding those ideological communists found across the board, including the Republican Party, the military, and the state apparatus... 🤷

You seem to be reading an attack on Judolin in my text, which I couldn't care less about. His own post—among others—which includes yours, provoked such a reaction, but I wasn't targeting him, nor was he my direct focus.
In short, I was responding to anyone advocating for "verbal offenses," as I view all such individuals as mental communists.
Yet here, when people (if there is a better word) rant against the Financial Times, the Green Party, AG, the Socialist Party, or the Democratic Party, they claim everyone is entitled to an opinion.
It seems to me that, in my case, I am not.

Ergo,
I don't give a damn about Judolin. He chose to see himself in my post and began shouting at me personally.
Perhaps that's how it works... doesn't matter to me.
My goal was merely to point out the double standards—
especially since you are involved (and I assume I won't get a strike for this 🤔 )!

Also, please point out where I clearly refer to a single individual and specify exactly who 😲

First, I'm here complaining about the Cardboard I received, and after more than a month, I get this response, only for everything to end up right here.

That is, while the moderator suggested this
implying that I am "turning a discussion about a topic into a discussion about an interlocutor, which constitutes trolling" 🤷

And all of this is explained by

rezon@tor said:Do you really think there is much difference between mentioning someone or explicitly referencing what an interlocutor said a few posts ago, versus slapping labels like "post-communist delusions" on them?

It is blatant trolling—just like the message you requested a sanction for.

Then I read this 😲

rezon@tor said:It’s not that they aren't different.
The distinction lies in reading things into someone else's posts that simply weren't written there. .

the edge said:Exactly. They build these arguments and stir up debates about things that don't exist anywhere.

... and I see that people are being punished here for reading things into others' posts that aren't there, yet I was penalized for "personal attacks" when none were made 🤷

The Cardboard doesn't matter anymore, though I would appreciate some clarity on this subtle distinction—where you can read things into posts and get away with it, while others are punished for the exact same thing 😕
Politics Discussion: General Gotovina and Markač - Full Thread in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Dear coppermarlin13,

Locking this thread is the only logical move...
If you want to debate the AG's actions now that he’s back in the fold, you should just start a new thread over in the political scene...

It’s a bit tough for me to step away from it too, but we really need to let go.😉
Jamie Barrett7 said:Is there a way to create a new indented paragraph after a heading without hitting enter repeatedly—just being efficient... using Microsoft Office 2010.

Just hit TAB 😬
Lawrence Walker5 said:Hi there,

I could use some assistance...

I'm trying to place an image in the bottom right corner of my PowerPoint—it needs to show up on every slide except for the title slide.

I've run out of ideas to try... if anyone knows how to handle this, I'd appreciate the help.

Thanks,

Best,

Just use the Slide Master for that...
Edward Gray49 said:Why doesn't it fully pull the email from the server—in my case, using Comcast—so that nothing is left behind on their end? How do I set that up in Outlook?
Just use Outlook on Windows... I’m running Office 2010.
Thanks.

Go to File, then Account Settings, select the existing account, hit Change, and look under More Options—you'll find an Advanced tab there... it has the setting to control how long messages stay on the server after you download them.😉
wearycyclist98 said:You can adjust the spacing, I suppose—though it likely just carried over from whatever program it originated from... it isn't something you can physically separate. A copy-paste from a single cell looks roughly like this...

DEBT: 214,980.26 30,545.49 245,525.75 245,525.75

This might be a bit of a silly question, but

How did you copy that data from Word?
Did you happen to use the "paste as Unicode text" option?

edit:
My apologies—I missed the comma/period issue earlier...
analogeagle72 said:My Office is set to American English, so I can't find what you guys are describing
Thanks in advance for the help

I struggle with the American version too...😬

But I did find this http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/su...277.aspx?CTT=1

So:
Click the File tab.
Click Options.
Click Language.
Then Proofing and Self-correction.
Click AutoCorrect Options.
On the Self-correction tab, check if the box is checked for Replace text as you type.

Well, you actually need to uncheck that last box...
analogeagle72 said:How can I fix this?
In Word, I type "Writing a letter," hit enter, and suddenly it changes to "Writing a description" or something similar—basically, my sentences keep changing on me. I tried adjusting the language settings, but no luck...
I'm using Office 2010.
Thanks for any help

Just disable AutoCorrect under Proofing—specifically, uncheck the "replace text as you type" option.
Brenda Barnes said:I find myself in the following situation...
Sheet1 consists of two columns: client name and zip code...
Sheet2... It contains a list of all the post offices across America—just two columns: zip code and city name...
I'm looking to add a column for location names into Sheet1—pulling that data directly from Sheet2... I'm certain there's an Excel way to automate this, I just haven't managed to track down the specific method yet...
The sheet contains roughly 4,000 clients—this would save me quite a bit of time...

Does anyone know how to handle this...?

If that zip code database was pulled directly from HP's site, there might be an issue with trailing spaces at the end of the city names—which would break a VLOOKUP if you're searching by location... especially since multiple towns can share the same zip code.
This needs to be cleaned up first...
=TRIM(SUBSTITUTE(A1, CHAR(160), CHAR(32))) — essentially cleaning up those stubborn non-breaking spaces... keeps things tidy.
