Fair enough. I tend to overexplain things just because I know someone will eventually read this and misinterpret my point if they don't understand how the forum politics work. It's better to be crystal clear. 🙂

Of course you can. We have people who register prohibited handles all the time; we ask them to pick something else, and if they ignore us, we just change it ourselves.
It’s essentially the same word. Technically, it's possible to use the same handle by just messing with capitalization, but nobody would actually do that because it's... well, pointless. It would just confuse everyone.
Daze hit the nail on the head. He just forgot to mention that you can't use alts once you've been banned—otherwise, every single account gets slapped with a permanent ban too.
And yeah, we aren't deleting other people just because you like their username and they haven't been around long. Sorry.

Oof, you missed it. The very first post in this thread covers it:
Sophia Castillo35 said:How do I make a hyperlinked name?> The Python code is tripping me up because instead of rendering my input, it just shows the raw W3C. It's way more complicated than it needs to be. 😬 So, I'll write out the code and stick a *asterisk* inside it (to stop it from actually turning into the link). I'll also include what the final result looks like below, as usual. Type: [*url=http://www.website.com]Page Name[/url] Result: Page Name
The link is technically designed to search everything, but we capped it at 300 to prevent server strain and to keep things from getting weird with people who have boundary issues. Stalking is just a bad look. 😈
That would be up to the admin, the site manager, or a subforum moderator. Not a regular user. Contact happens through private messages, or if you have an email, phone number, or physical address, you can go that route too.
There’s no room for sentimentality here, just clear rules. Minor aesthetic tweaks to a username are fine, but a complete overhaul is out of the question.
