lol, it hasn't even been a week yet and you guys are already acting like it's been eight. chill out, seriously everyone just needs to take a breath for a second
xD I guess I'd try to navigate my way over to the regional and language settings and just set everything to English xD Anyway, the RTM version is dropping next month. How many of you guys are actually planning on jumping to Windows 7 next month? That is, assuming they let us activate it using some kind of "workaround" similar to how we handled Vista. Has Microsoft said anything yet about what kind of security measures they're going to bake into them?
LOOOOOOOOL Come on, man, stop spreading misinformation. I mean, 1GB is basically the bare minimum in both scenarios—but if you're looking at 1.5 to 2GB, that's more than enough for Windows 7.
Yeah, I think it was that bug from last month, if I remember right. If you look through the torrents, there's probably a full scan of the bug in a .pdf somewhere. It wouldn't hurt to check out some US warez sites, too. Anyway, I managed to find the .pdf for that issue—just give Google a little nudge.
Honestly, you can totally enable it on Windows Vista if you want—it’s not a huge deal. Though, I guess you don't really need to... I mean, you could just grab all the latest updates once a month and call it a day
Man, you guys are making this way more complicated than it needs to be. I've been running Windows Vista since last year and honestly—I haven't even thought about setting up a dual boot once. 🙂
Evoga is finally starting to pick up a little steam. xD I guess as we get closer to the release of Windows 7, people are just gonna start hating on it more and more 😬
I mean, if you ask me, Vista should probably be priced around what XP goes for—maybe somewhere near $133—while Windows 7 really ought to be positioned at the same level as Vista
It’s not really something you can just pick up overnight. I mean, it's a craft—just like any other skill you'd want to master. You've gotta take it slow, starting with the basics before you even think about moving on to those big, complex photo montages.
I think I might have a pretty massive problem on my hands and I could really use some help here.
I've poured tens of thousands of dollars and years upon years of hard work into this one thing. Now, I’m looking to actually commercialize it and make a living from it.
But honestly, I'm terrified it'll just end up on some random torrent site and all those years of grinding will just... vanish. Like, gone.
Does anyone have advice on how to stop that? 🤷
What would you guys do if you were in my shoes? How do you protect your work when your livelihood depends on it and you can't exactly afford to give everything away for free forever?
Look, look at it from this perspective—how many actual hackers are there in the US? Maybe like three or four wannabes. And they definitely aren't gonna spend their time trying to crack your software just to upload it somewhere. As for those big-time global hackers who crack major software? None of them are gonna bother themselves with your "niche" little project. Like, you think a group like Anonymous or some elite crew is gonna waste their precious time on your product? Please. Just set up some basic protection—maybe a serial number system or some kind of online activation. Don't sweat it too much; I mean, if the product is actually good, people will find a way to pay for it. Just don't leave it totally wide open for every random person to grab, but don't go blowing a fortune on high-end security either. It's kind of pointless, really—everything gets cracked eventually anyway.
Yeah, true enough. Honestly, I just downloaded whatever the latest available build was—no point stressing over which specific version is technically newer out there—because, in my experience, the RC (Build 7100) runs pretty smoothly. Besides, word is SP2 might be coming out soon anyway, so you might as well just settle in with this one and count down the days until next week. Fall will be here before we know it, and then it’ll be the end of the year and Windows 7 will be officially out. And then, well... we'll all probably head down to the local flea markets to hunt for our own copies xD
Btw, has anyone heard any rumors about what kind of security they're actually going to bake into Windows 7?
Thomas Hernandez21 said:Wait... so you're seriously telling me that 7077 is actually better than Build 7100? I don't know, man—I guess I just don't see it. 🙂
Yeah, I mean—it’s pretty obvious that the folks over at Microsoft are basically running two separate teams on this one. So, I've got one running on the RC and the other on the RTM at the same time. So, just to say—and I’m totally just rambling here—if we were to say Build 7100 was basically the same thing as, I don't know, 7077... I mean, those numbers are just totally made up, obviously, this isn't actually how things stand, but you get what I'm getting at, right?
