If you ask me, Windows 7 is basically a finished product already—it just needs a little bit of polish.
Honestly, moving from the Release Candidate stage to the RTM version isn't going to bring any massive, earth-shattering changes.
It’ll mostly just be a bunch of random bugfixes and some minor aesthetic tweaks here and there.

really? lol
it's just 7100 out there—I mean, even the folks over at Microsoft haven't even touched 7200 yet xD

Downloading the RC1 7100 build
I'm honestly so stoked to finally get my hands on 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏
Windows 7 in Software ·
That sounds pretty interesting—might actually download it just to see what happens 😁 I'm honestly just curious to see how the whole thing looks and feels

It’s probably not even that month yet.
The RC1 isn't out in the wild either.
If you ask me, I'd say October at the earliest.
Which Logitech keyboard should I get? in Computer Peripherals ·
I’m with you on that.
Honestly, whether you go wired or wireless doesn't even matter that much in the grand scheme of things.
Unless, I guess, you're planning on playing games on a laptop or some tiny LCD screen where you actually need to move the keyboard around.
I've been rocking a wireless setup for about four years now, and if I'm being totally honest, the wireless part hasn't really changed my life or anything.
But for mice? Yeah, it's definitely worth it—I'd highly recommend picking up a solid wireless one.
Personally, I usually stayed on the lower end, like below an MX Master series 🙏

Maybe if you're restarting your PC all the time? I mean, I'm probably wrong about that, though.
Formatting the drive and doing a clean install of Windows is pretty much just like installing some massive AAA game—at least that’s how it feels to me. If I've got that totally wrong, please set me straight 😬

It might just be a driver issue, honestly—maybe try messing around with the settings a bit and see if that helps.

I'm sitting at a 5.7 GPA on my transcript xD

It’s pretty obvious there’s a different way they’re scoring things now—I mean, a ton of much more powerful hardware has hit the market since Windows Vista was at RTM.
It was kind of expected that the scores would jump up like this, honestly.
Windows 7 in Software ·
Man, seriously guys—don't listen to those weirdos.
Personally, I think Vista is actually a pretty decent OS—I haven't even hit a single BSOD in almost a year now. I guess if you pay a little attention and actually know what you're doing, it works wonders.
And hey, if people say Windows 7 is "just" SP2 for Vista, then fine, whatever.
You've gotta know how to monetize your own work and products, which it seems like some folks here are just jealous of.
Why don't you go build your own OS and sell it however you want? It’s always easiest to act like a genius when you aren't the one doing the work.

I honestly think my family would actually kill me if I started messing with the computer settings every single week😁
I mean, let's face it—not everyone gets to have their own private setup😛
Windows 7 transformation packs! in Software ·
Wait, wait, wait.
Are you seriously installing a transformation pack to make things look like Windows 7 when Windows 7 isn't even fully out yet?
The folks over at Microsoft haven't even finished polishing the user interface yet—so I mean, how is a transformation pack even supposed to look right? 🤣
Honestly, guys, just hang tight until Windows 7 actually drops, and then maybe consider using a transformation pack.
Man, these packs are already such a buggy mess right now, and Windows Vista is already out and causing issues... just imagine how much of a disaster a pack for Windows 7 would be.
Windows 7 in Software ·
Alright, alright
come on, beta testers—let's put this through its paces and see just how much guesswork went into this from the folks over at Microsoft 😬
Windows 7 in Software ·
Wait, how can there be no testing phases? Where did your RC1 and RC2 go?

Look, because of my line of work, I actually get the chance to be a Beta tester for all sorts of Microsoft products...
It’s just what I do, so I was honestly just sharing my two cents on Windows 7.....
If you don't want to deal with it, then yeah—just don't install 7 and call it a day.
Everyone was trashing Vista when it first dropped, and now like 90% of the people on these forums are using it......
It’ll be the same thing with 7—people will complain now, then later they'll swear that Vista with SP1 was the greatest OS ever built....

Hope you get where I'm coming from.

Actually, I wasn't even talking to you—I was responding to this guy's comment here:
What kind of nonsense are these beta testers doing? Why even bother with beta versions? You go from version 6 to 7 and don't even know what you're supposed to be installing. Instead of dealing with all that, why not just wait for the full release and be done with it? When is a real, stable version of Windows 7 even supposed to show up???

And there's my response:
"Wait, why would anyone install a BETA version of anything—especially an OS—if they have no clue what they're getting themselves into????"

I just didn't quote him directly, that's all.
Windows 7 in Software ·
Seriously, why would you even bother installing a BETA version—especially an entire operating system—if you don't have a clue what you're actually getting yourself into?
Windows 7 in Software ·
Interesting enough.
Does anyone happen to know when we might actually see the RTM?
Windows 7 in Software ·
Which track are you thinking about hitting?
I’m leaning towards either the fer or the fsb route, I guess.

Man, maybe by then I'll have managed to... I don't know, pull some strings at college—if I actually get in—and figure out a way to score it for free, or at least for some ridiculously low amount. 🙂
