Maybe you're just having a run of bad luck...

So far, I've only had a single IBM hard drive kick the bucket on me...

Everything else—the motherboard, the monitor, the RAM, the power supply... all that old gear is over five years old and still running fine...

And even this new stuff is holding up perfectly.👍

The Number 1 album was:

Born on 6th Aug:
1948 - Allan Holdsworth ( guitarist, Soft Machine )

Honestly, this stuff hits way harder😁

Man, having a side fan blowing outward is totally pointless if you're just pushing air out.😁

Anyway, if you track down an actual filter that actually works, let me know.👍

Just ask him how much he dropped on cooling alone.😁 😉

Seriously,😬
how much?

dustypilot23 said:And about the cooling setup... how much did you drop on it? Because I paid way more than you probably did. 🙂

Look, I wasn't trying to start some stupid argument over whose gear is better... I was just making a point.🙂

Anyway, it set me back $100, and honestly, that's exactly what it's worth...

brightgull15 said:Look, I’ve said it a thousand times in every damn forum and paper out there—any Zalman cooler, even the heavy-duty 7000-Cu, is a total waste on an AMD chip. It’s built for Pentium 4. The surface area on an AMD processor is just way too small. The heat-conduit can't pull enough heat away fast enough to make it worth it.

I have no clue what you're even getting at here.😕

My rig sits right on the floor under my desk where there's basically zero airflow... it's completely enclosed... room temp is sitting around 77 F, and my CPU stays between 100-113 F (maxing out at 113 F) while running at 2460 Mhz...

I'm perfectly happy with those numbers.🙂

dustypilot23 said:I’m pretty sure my cooling setup is absolute garbage...

temps are bouncing all over the place between 44 and 59 while I'm sitting at 2500 MHz. To me, that's a dead giveaway that too much hot air is just getting trapped around the cooler. One pathetic little 80mm fan can't possibly vent it all out of the case fast enough.🙄

My Zalman with Arctic 5 paste keeps me steady at 45 max at 2450 MHz.🙂

My only gripes are that the text box on this Forum feels twice as narrow 😕, though I guess I'm used to it by now. Plus, I occasionally get hit with a "Timed out" error... but yeah, that's pretty much it.

And Bird sucks. 👎

Same thing happened to me on Netscape😠

I can barely fit five words on a single line.
Man, I've got Netscape running on everything😁

Jonathan Martin73 said:I can rip stuff from a Compact Disc to MP3 just fine, but I can't do anything with files already on my hard drive!
Here’s the deal:
I want to take songs in WMA, OGG, and about 5 or 6 other formats and convert them all to MP3!
But I need to go from one folder on my hard drive to another!

So anyway...

Look... converting OGG to MP3 is basically pointless because they're almost the exact same damn thing... but yeah, definitely convert that WMA stuff.👍

I don't personally use Audacity, so I can't tell you exactly why your setup is acting up (maybe you're missing a codec or just messing something up), but if you want my advice, iTunes is hands down the #1 tool for this kind of conversion. It works every single time.👍
Jonathan Martin73 said:How the hell do I rip music from a Compact Disc into MP3 format?
I'm using Audigrabber...
Everything works fine when I'm ripping straight from a Compact Disc, but I can't get it to work when I try to convert files sitting in a folder on my hard drive... !
Is that just impossible or what?
If you guys know any alternatives that actually work—stuff you've personally used—let me know!

I honestly don't even get what you're asking.😕

You can rip from a Compact Disc to your hard drive, sure, but you can't "rip" from one part of your hard drive to another.😕

Look, just tell us exactly what you're trying to move and what the source and target formats are.🙂
Are you even sure the images are loading?🙂

Anyway, just go check your Preferences, hit up privacy & security, then look under images

Tyler Lee57 said:Look, I’m not even asking about overclocking here. My PC keeps hard-rebooting right in the middle of work, and I’m betting some component isn't getting enough juice.

Yeah, could be. But honestly, if everything is set to factory defaults, that shouldn't be happening...

It’s totally possible your PSU is just dying or it's a cheap piece of junk to begin with.😕

Or you could have a virus or some other crap messing things up.🙂
